Chương 55: 55- Primordial Gods

Chris woke up groggily as she finally regained her senses, looking around, she found herself lying on Mark's lap who was eating some kind of snack, 'he looked handsome as usual' Chris thought, then she remembered the trouble they had earlier but seeing Mark acted as if nothing happened, she didn't think about it anymore.

"Aren't you going to share some?" Chris was the first thing she asked when she woke up.

"Oh! you are awake, are you hurt somewhere?" Mark asked worriedly, he lost his control earlier that he didn't put Chris into consideration, someone hurt her and he hurted her too, isn't that ironic?

Well, Mark felt wronged because of that, it was his first time losing himself like that, but anyway, he knew she was fine but he still decided to ask, "I'm fine, but I feel hungry" Chris said.

"Really? what do you want to eat?" Mark asked as he caressed her hair.

"That" Chris pointed on the snack on Mark's mouth teasingly.

"Sure" Mark gave a smirk and then pushed his face closer to Chris's face with the snack still in his mouth, the snack was fairly small only a few inches long and Mark used his mouth directly to pass the other end of the snack to Chris's mouth.

Chris suddenly froze as her mind failed to process what just happened, but she could feel and even smell Mark's breath since they were only a few inches away, just one more push and surely they will kiss each other.

Mark then let go of the snack on his mouth and let it fall into Chris's mouth in which she caught unconsciously, Mark smiled then pulled his head back, "You are awake now so get up, we still have about 5 minutes before God Pod opens" Mark said as he pulled Chris up who was still in a daze to her feet.

"Okay" Chris absentmindedly replied as she chewed at the snack Mark gave him slowly as if she was savoring the saliva *ahem, the taste of the snack in her mouth, the people who fell asleep in the city also started waking up since Merlin stopped using his sleeping spell.

Merlin also used some weak brainwashing spells to make the people forget about Mark's identity as the Saint of Zero, it was the most important thing for the Darkness Below Organization to hide its trump card.

well, Mark didn't really care, after everyone had woke up and acted as if nothing happened, Mark and Chris made their way towards the location of the God Pod.

Mark was also curious what the God Pod is, but seeing its name, it must be associated with gods or in some way. The God Pod was located in the ancient forest of the Sephiria Planet, a forest that covered 80% of the whole Sephiria Planet.

It was also beautiful as Mark looked around, compared to the tree city he was in earlier, the Ancient forest was like the natural beauty of this world. towering trees that extended up to the skies making the people underneath it look like ants.

There is also the big calm river, the water was very clear and Mark could even see the fishes below the lake, they were not monster likes but looked like fishes that looked very pleasing to the eye.

Mark watched the fish while Chris was contemplating whether to eat the whole snack Mark had given her or preserve it for future uses, well, after looking around, Chris turned her body away from Mark and licked the other end of the snack before putting it inside her safe pocket.

Mark suddenly felt chill behind his back, he looked around him but found nothing, it was not a killing intent nor bloodlust, but Mark didn't like the feeling, he turned to Chris who was looking at him with a smile.

Anyway, a few minutes later, Mark and Chris finally arrived where the God Pod was placed, there were already tons of people, numbered about hundreds of thousand from what Mark could see.

He then saw what the so-called God Pod was, it was a huge circular platform made of some kind of divine material, it was pure white with no impurities, it also had twelve statues surrounding it, they were the 12 primordial gods who were said to be the ones that will be governing the mudguard.

"So those old gods were the ones who are going to host it huh" Mark nodded and didn't really think about it so much.

Thankfully, not all players had arrived yet, if all of them were here then it will be very crowded since there were trillion players of Alter Online, Mark and Chris found a good spot to wait and sat there.

They didn't have to wait long as a flash of lightning struck the 12 statues, then, a golden light dawned upon each statue and slowly, the states started turning into real figures.

[Welcome Players!] A loud voice boomed at the Ancient Forest surprising everyone, then looked at the one who spoke and was surprised it was the representative of the 12 primordial gods, Alastor, the god of Life and Justice.

The players immediately kneeled in front of these primordial gods, well, except for Mark but to not get some attention, he hid his aura so no one will be able to see him, Mark already had enough troubles today.

With Mark's aura hidden, even if the people look at him directly, they won't be able to see him, unless, they were the 12 primordial gods on the god pod or Mark let himself be discovered intentionally.

The 12 primordial gods noticed Mark and immediately surprise came to their eyes but they didn't act familiar with him, they were not really friends, more of an acquaintance, but the gods were still friendly with him.

[You all may rise, I will now explain to you the rules of the Midgard and its purpose] Alastor said in which everyone followed and stood up and looked at him with respect, Alastor nodded and the other gods also nodded.

[We will now explain the 12 commandments of the Midgard]
