Chương 16: Making a Call

Long Ying furrowed his eyebrows and beckoned for her to follow him. They headed to the room beside hers and Long Ying simply opened the wardrobe. "I already asked them to buy clothes of your size. You can pick by yourself."

Yu Yan was speechless. Looking at the entire wardrobe full of dress, she was wondering how in the world he even knew her size. Did she write it somewhere and didn't even realize it?

"I'll wait outside."

"Ah, ok."

It didn't take long for Yu Yan to pick long white dress with long sleeve. It was nearing winter, so the temperature outside will be cold. This mansion was warm, though, as there was heater turned on in the rooms.

The dress was so soft. Yu Yan could guess that it might be made of good quality cotton and as she looked at the brand, her lips trembled. There were various famous clothing brands and nearly all of them were stuffed here.

'Beauty Design, Elain Arts,…'

Reading the names already made Yu Yan felt helpless. She knew very well the prices of these clothes. Even if she worked for a full year, she would not be able to buy these sets of these clothes with her current wage.

Now that she thought about her work, she should apply for a leave...

Yu Yan took a deep breath and picked her phone. It was out of battery, so she had no other choice but to put it away. She could ask for leave later or just borrow Long Ying's phone to make a call.

She walked out and saw Long Ying leaned against the wall, holding a cigarette but hadn't lit it up. He glanced in her direction and paused for a moment, being entranced. "Are you done?"

"Yes. What do you think?" Yu Yan smiled in response.

"Exquisite." Long Ying smiled back.

"Ah wait, can I borrow your phone for a bit? I want to ask for leave from work." Yu Yan then recalled her intention. She quickly added, "My phone's battery is out."

"Here."

"Thank you."

Taking the phone, Yu Yan called her superior then asked for leave. Her reason: There was some family problems and she will need a week leave. Her superior was surprised and warned her that her bonus will be cut if she took such a long leave. Unfortunately, Yu Yan truly couldn't return back to work.

At least, not now.

"You're asking for such a long leave. Your bonus for this month will be gone." Her superior sounded worried.

Yu Yan sighed. "I can't help it. Anyway, there's not much work right now, right?"

"Well not really. There'll be new collaboration with Beauty Design again and Miss Feng is in charge of it. The work for others will start after they had settled on the basic concept."

"Alright. I'll get back to work next week."

"You might need to rest too. Your voice is a bit hoarse."

Yu Yan smiled bitterly. Hoarse? Her jaw was simply hurt a bit because of a certain man punching her straight on her face. But of course, she couldn't possibly say that to her superior.

"I'm fine."

After talking a bit more, Yu Yan hung up. She looked up and saw Long Ying looking straight at her with dangerous glint. Uh, did she do something wrong?

Long Ying took his phone back. "Don't talk too long with other men than necessary. You're now my woman, got it?"

Yu Yan: "…" how should I work if I can't even communicate with others?

As a manager, she would have to communicate with other people a lot. Not to mention, she was also aiming to reach higher position in her workplace so that she could have a say there.

This was the first time she knew that Long Ying was such a jealous husband. Her superior was, indeed, a man. However, that man was already married, alright? She was not that deprived to try getting close to a married man. Besides, who could compare to her husband?

Yu Yan charged her phone and left it in the bedroom before she put on some makeup to cover up the bruise on her face. Afterwards, she followed Long Ying, unaware of the many people who were trying to call her phone that day.

"Is the Base far?"

Long Ying shook his head. "There are several bases for Dragon Clan. There's one in City F." that I rarely visited.

He usually stayed in the Capital City and only came here because of a business when he heard that Yu Yan got into trouble. Not wanting to see her hurt, he chose to delay his own work and watched over her.

An Lin also came along with them as the driver. The previous guards were all busy working in the Base as they only escorted Long Ying because of his order. Their real work was something completely different.

"To City F Base."

"Yes, Boss."
