The moment that we were all in the water, we started our descent down to the ocean floor. I don't think that I quite understood how far down it was going to be. I had lived by the ocean my whole life. I had been born in the ocean. And yet, here I was not knowing how vast it really was.

I don't think that I was the only one that didn't really understand it though. There seemed to be quite a bit of shock on Makai's face as well. And, really, could anyone blame us? You could learn about the ocean in school all you want but being inside of it was something completely different than what you would expect.

"How far down are we going?" I heard Makai's voice from just in front of me as we were swimming at an angle toward the ocean floor.

"To the bottom." Doc answered almost immediately.
