Things didn't get any less weird from there. Over the next few weeks, Penelope ran into Harry nearly every day in some capacity, even if it was only stopping to say hi.
Head publishers bounced around from department to department making sure everything was okay. Harry did have an office but he hardly ever seemed to be in it because he was always putting out fires for other people.
His job looked exhausting but he seemed to enjoy it. Orchard Books was a very successful business—she had looked it up—so he must have good taste in books as well.
Penelope wouldn't have pegged him as a literary type but looks could be deceiving. He didn't seem like the athletic type at first glance either but he played basketball with Roman all the time in the other world.
She had to stop thinking about his connection to Roman! They might not even be friends here. Her other self wasn't friends with Missy at all.
