Chương 48: No hesitation
Noah took the mask I handed him. Then without anyone noticing, I deployed my domain to block the flow of air from the cave entrance.
With that done, I sat down next to my brother before putting on my own mask and waiting.

After about 17 minutes, Momo who was standing guard at the entrance of the cave collapsed on the ground.
I had started creating sleep gas as soon as I put on my mask. The gas was odorless and fast-acting. The only reason we had to wait so long was for the gas to spread throughout the cave.
I then stood up and said
"Gather them all side by side. And tie them up properly with those ropes, "I said, handing him ropes made of a special alloy.
So we began to work. We stretched them all in line before we tie them up tightly.
With that done, I pulled a knife out of my pocket and walked over to Shigaraki. I crouched down next to him before cutting his hands off. I could of course put gloves on him, but there would always be a possibility that he would escape and become a future enemy. Caution above all.
His quirk was too dangerous, it would be too easy for him to escape. Of course, I also collected a sample of his blood.
Then I walked over to Aizawa before I gouged out his eyes. His quirk too was too dangerous for me. Although he was a companion I could count on, I knew very well what he thought of me. Once this whole game was over, he would be the first to turn on me. Then I have him take a blood sample.
After that I went to Dabi's side, he was a good companion too, but his flames are too powerful and they would give him a way to escape no matter what I tie him up with. So he and Shoto must die. The only one I haven't hurt is Anna. But I just tied her to the back of the cave out of sight of others before leaving her a written message explaining the situation.
She seemed to trust me and if in order to maintain her trust I just had to write a little message, there is no reason not to.
When this was all over, I joined Noah who was waiting for me at the entrance to the cave.
"It's okay? Have you finished what you had to do?" He asked me
"Yeah, it's okay we can go" I replied starting to walk

Silence, absolute silence.
It was the only thing I could think of. Yaguchi Hayato who are you? Why are you doing this?
You had won, there were only weak teams left. Why did you betray your friends?
After everything that's happened, everything you've been through together, how can you still be so cold at heart?
I observe the parents of the children around me. They ALL have blank eyes. For the most part, they were killed by this guy who joined Hayato, Noah was his name.
I understand only too well the pain felt during the loss of a loved one, I did my best to support them and make them keep hope for the future so that it does not come to desperate measures, but even now I don't know what to think about this situation.
As the situation seemed to improve and everyone regained hope, things took a major turn as Hayato betrayed his companions ... I saw his eyes, his gaze when he took care of them. He had no remorse, no hesitation. It's like he's just running over a few random ants.
I don't understand anything anymore, I trust my judgment and my experience but I can't understand what is going on anymore.
My gut tells me that these people are just playing a chess game with our lives as pieces.
And as I watched young Hayato move, he came to the edge of the combat zone. He then put his hand on the glass surface before turning around and looking at the camera with a big smile while saying
" I am coming "

Those words sent shivers down my spine even though I knew they weren't addressed to me.
Following his words, the outlines of a rectangular shape the size of a door revealed with smoke as it exited. Like a depressurization airlock.
The door then opened to reveal a wide dark hallway before Hayato and Noah slipped inside not to be seen anymore.
The scene remained thus, motionless and silent. Then suddenly the screen went black as if the broadcast had ceased to be transmitted.
Who are you Hayato?
What do you know that we don't?
Why did you betray your friends?
What is your goal?
And who is this Noah who seems to know you for a long time?

(POV Hayato)
I don't give a fuck anymore.
I held back and acted fairly neutral the whole time to see if they could find us. But from what I see they are completely helpless so I don't need to hold back anymore. No matter what I do now, they won't be able to stop me if my plans are successful. Not even if they use an atomic weapon.
Now is the time to realize the full potential of manipulating electromagnetism. But before that, I must first have a little chat with my dear father.
Thinking about it, I enter the dark tunnel followed by my brother.
We walk for about a minute in silence before we find a corpse lying in the hallway.

We decided to continue the path but we continued to meet these corpses. Some had weapons in their hands, others looked like they were about to run away but they all had these weird wounds.
As we continued walking we encountered a few crossroads but the path we were on seemed to be the main one so we chose to continue on this one before checking out the others.
And so we ended up in front of a two-meter-high armored door. I looked at my brother who just smiled at me and motioned for me to continue.
The door slowly opened little by little under the effect of my quirk.
But the scene behind was not at all what I expected we would encounter.
Behind the door was a wealthy mansion. It was in the center of a lush garden that contained many plants that I was not aware of.
But unlike the previous combat zone, this garden seemed full of life. We could see birds here and there as well as a few bugs.
And it was all protected by a transparent glass dome that revealed the beauty of the infinite space outside.
Well I think I am in the good place.
So without waiting, I walked over to the mansion after checking that there was no trap.
Once in front of the door
*sigh*
"He has really bad taste to rebuild our old house" I whispered as I turned the handle.
"I'm home"
