Chương 4: A sudden visit and my determination

Yumeko laughed it off. And then thought for a second.
" how about we visit dad. You also haven't met your two cousins yet and there's only a few months time before Erina's fourth birthday."
" Really!" Shinji was excited to meet his cousins but more importantly he wants to meet his grandfather and learn more about cooking. ( he's a little childish because he is a CHILD. but he's attitude will change once he gets older. So for now you could compare him to a cat. cold to everyone he doesn't know but friendly to the others.)
Yumeko then looked at Shinra with the famous pleading puppy dog eyes. and it was super effective.
*sigh* " well i suppose a little vacation wouldn't hurt. People need some rest and relaxation from time to time its also been a while till father-in-law and i catch up."
" really yey!" Yumeko hugged Shinra along with Shinji that is until Shinra's phone rang.
" it seems that i have a call. exuse me for a second."
Shinra then answered the phone with a suprised faced he talked some more until he finally hang up.
" it looks like my father will be visiting soon."
" father-in-law?! Well thats quite sudden when will it be. "
" in a couple of days from now. "
" i havent seen grandpa in a while."
And so they chatted for a while before deciding to spend the rest of the day watching some movies.

And just like that few days had passed. Right now Shinra, Yumeko and Shinji were currently on the front of their house waiting for someone to come.
It didn't take long for them to see a black sedan nearing their house. And once the car had finally stopped the door from the back opened. and it revealed a man in his late sixties with white and gray trimmed hair the signature red piercing eyes a handsome wrinkled face with a tall stature standing at 6'2 with a medium sized build. Wearing a sophisticated black bussiness suit under a pair of white polo shirt and black necktie. Carrying a noble aura around him. he looked at the trio in the front door.

Shinra, Yumeko and Shinji all bowed in respect by the man before them. Anzai Shigeo or more well known as the Architect had many stories behind him. Starting from a modest background Shigeo built his multi billionaire company with his own two hands from scratch. He worked day and night without stopping just to get where he is today shaking the world of architecture and bringing a new age that will be known for generations to come.
" father what brings you here to day?"
Shinra was the first to greet Shigeo. Shigeo smiled and went in for a hug. Shinra didn't hesitate and also hugged his father.
" hahaha! Dont be so uptight im just here for a little vacation and visit my son along with his wife and my grandson. "
" father-in-law how are you." Yumeko was the second to greet Shigeo.
" good, good. its nice to see my daughter in law doing well and still as beautiful as ever hahaha! "
" thank you for the praise. " Yumeko smiled and bowed.
" grandfather. " and Shinji was the last one to finally greet him.
" well, well hows my grandson doing? "
Shigeo then went to Shinji and patted his head.
" i hope you didn't slack off from your training. "
" no I didn't grandfather, and as a matter of fact i only grown stronger."
" hahaha! Then ill have to see how far have you gone."
Shinji didn't just learned how to cook in these last two years. He also furthered his studies and reached the same level of intellect as those who are in their second year of highschool. As for why he was taught martial arts its mainly because of other competitors in the architecture industry. You need to learn how to protect yourself from harm in this cruel world. add to the fact that Shinji was the son of the current heir of the Anzai Corporation currently called ' Red demon' and the grandson of the one and only 'The Architect.' ( alot of bs but you know i could always blame it on anime logic lol.)
All of them went inside the Guest room where Shigeo was served green tea. Taking a sip he looked around the room for a bit. And asked a question.
" so Yumeko how's your old man doing."
" hes doing fine and managing the academy well as its director.
" i see im glad to hear that,"
But then all of the sudden the atmosphere in the room became heavy and dark.
" so i heard that my grandson is interested in cooking. "
Shigeo said in a serious tone then looked at Shinji waiting for an answer.
Shinji stuttered for a bit because of the pressure but still pushed through.
" y-yes and i would like to dedicate my time and attention to achieve my goals and dreams!"
" so... what you're saying is that you want to throw away our hardwork down the drain. To chase a dream that you might never achieve."
Shinji gulped and sweat filled his back. Because Under the facade of a happy go lucky of Shigeo lies the unforgiving, ruthless and cruel monster that once shook the world by his own skill and determination.
" PREPOSTEROUS! " everyone in the room exept from Shinra was suprised and scared by Shigeo's sudden words.
" YOU UNGRATEFUL BRAT YOU HAVE BEEN RAISED WITH RICHEST AND COMFORT UNTIL YOU WERE JUST A DEFENCELESS INFANT. YET YOU CHOSE TO FOLLOW YOUR IDIOTIC DREAMS RATHER THAN TAKE THE ROAD THATS BEEN LAID BEFORE YOU! DO YOU KNOW HOW MANY PEOPLE WOULD KILL FOR THIS CHANCE. "
Shigeo stopped and sigh. After that he then resumed.
" Shinji... you were a natural born genius. Look at you, you're only four years of age but your intellect can be compared to that of a highschooler but i know that you could surpassed that its just that your mother, Yumeko wanted you to have a normal and fun childhood. And i respected that i think every child has the right to do so. When you started to have an interest in cooking didn't i support you and gifted you, your modified stool that you used till this day? I thought that maybe you picked up a hobby just like your father when he's still a child. But i didn't expect things to go like this. Shinji you're just wasting your precious time and talent on these trivial and useless things. Once you grow up you'll understand that the dream you have today is nothing but a fools journey.... So you better stop before this mistake bites you back in the future. "
Shinji had he's face down all this time. He knows the risk of his choice were and he also knows that he's asking for too much. but even then he's resolve isn't so weak to be broken just like that. So he gathered his strength and looked at Shigeo right in the eyes.
" i know the risk and i am willing to take it. I'm also grateful for the care and love that my family had given me. But even though what you said might be true, that i might fail and waste all my time trying. I'm still not giving up no matter what. So i Anzai Shinji the next heir of th-"
But before Shinji could finish he was interrupted by his mother's scream.
" NO! Shinji stop! You'll only hurt your self! " Yumeko tried to go to his son's direction and grabbed his arm and lead him out of the room. But she was stopped by her husband Shinra who grabbed her shoulder.
" Let go of me Shinra! Isn't he your son?! Why would you let him go through something so dangerous?!"
" i know.... I know but this is the only way." Shinra then hugged his wife tightly and comforted her. She then cried on his arms. While Shinra looked at Shinji and nodded at him. Shinji saw this and also nodded back.
" you better stop on what you're thinking of doing boy. Im still planning to forgive you but if you cross the line then I'm afraid that you'll have to be punished."
Shigeo tried to rebuke and warn his grandson one last time. But Shinji's resolve had already been made. Taking a deep breath he spoke.
" I Anzai Shinji the next heir to the Anzai corporation challenge Anzai Shigeo to the rite of passage. "
*sigh*
A sigh escape from Shigeo's mouth he then closed his eyes. But once he opened them again Shinji was welcomed by a cold glint and a pressure so strong that if he didn't managed to summon all of his strength and hold on. he would've stumbled and fall down on the ground. Shigeo looked at his grandson and spoke the words.
" So... You have chosen death."
