Markos carefully set his helmet on the ground with a grin. "What would you do without me?"
"Hang up that mage over the fire maybe? That'd warm him up." Caelyn shook his head laughing as he walked to the middle of the cavern chamber. "Act as the tether."
"Sure." Markos nodded, walking with Caelyn as they paced a large circle in opposite directions, and spiraling toward the center as they passed on another. The floating orbs and fungi cast them in a pale blue, the warning sigils on their armor dimly glowing red.
"I long for the day we stop wearing this armor." Caelyn muttered, stopping at his destination. He pulled a small black heartstone from a pouch on his belt and placed it on the icy stone beneath his feet. He remained kneeling. "Yes, this'll do."
Markos raised an eyebrow as he reached Caelyn, waiting for the next step. "A black heartstone? Why do you need me at all if you have one of those?"
