When they were all were regrouped and they were flying toward the center of the Land of Shadows where the exits were being closed off by Ophis. Now no matter how much the undead struggled they could not escape which ruined their plan.
Even though most of this place was teeming with powerful undead at mostly the Ultimate class they were not all that dangerous. These undead were mostly not sentient except for a few very powerful ones.
They had no egos of their own which made them easy foes to slaughter. Of course, their numbers were in the thousands per hoard, and there were even more in the very center of this place.
Kurayami and the girls who had weapons who could eat souls were not the only ones who were benefiting from this. Azazel had been collecting as many souls as he could catch including the one of the pharaoh thing he had killed.
He had so many ideas of what he could do with such powerful souls, but as he thought about weapon sports he got confused. He had limited knowledge about weapon spirits as they were quite rare and yet he managed to make many.
Good thing he had one weapon spirit who he could talk to to find more about his questions.
"Hey Rebellion, what is it like to be a weapon spirit. While I was forging you I used the soul core of a Grim Reaper, but I did not expect it to make a spirit with an ego like yours. Do you remember anything from that?"
Rebellion glanced at him and she moved her hand to her chin. At the moment she was wearing her armor while holding her helmet in her right hand. She was floating right beside Kurayami and she thought about it
"I have no memory other than my awakening and when I made my pact with my master. Of course, I also have all of his memories, but I do not have anything of the Reaper's soul you used. To be more accurate, the soul was recycled to make mine."
His researcher's soul was ignited and he asked her question after question which she answered without shame. At one point he snuck in a joke which she did not notice as she was so focused on thinking.
"When you have sex with Kurayami, what is it like? Do you think you could get pregnant if you tried?"
The girls all coughed at his shameless question, but against their thoughts, she shrugged.
"Master is a beast in bed with the cock of a dragon. It is so huge and when it goes inside of me it feels like he is splitting me in two. As for children I can never have children. I do not have ovaries as I am not really alive."
Ares shot a glace at Kurayami's pants and even though he was more of a top he wouldn't mind going a few rounds with such a well-endowed guy. Kurayami shivered and he turned his body before glaring at Ares.
"Dude, we went over this. I am not gay."
Ares winked before walking away. That made Kurayami cringe as he was 100% straight and even though he had no issue with others being gay, he was in no way interested in their games. Artemis patted him on the back before shooting a glace at now of many of her brothers.
"Don't let it get to you. Ares and many Greek gods are sex freaks that have lived for so long they get bored. However, it is why many do not take our pantheon seriously because of how many stories about the lust of the gods. Not all of them are like that."
He nodded before he decided to ask something.
"Oh now that I got a chance, what is it like to be a god. At the moment you know have a divine spark, but I am no closer to awakening it."
She shook her head.
"I was born a goddess, you are becoming a god. You should ask someone like Sun Wukong, or maybe Hercules. However my cousin was turned into a god which is different from you, you yourself awakened a divine spark in a diffrent way."
Raynare who was listening gave her theory.
"Ophis is the Dragon God of Infinity, but what will you become the God of Kurayami. I think that is why you have not awakened it well as you do not know. Maybe God of the Abyss, who knows. How lucky, even grandfather has not achieved that."
Azrael smiled slightly and focused on flying. Raynare opened her mouth wide and rushed to his side pulling on his arm.
"Granpa, do you have a divine spark?"
He glanced and her and refused to answer. As the killer of God, he had to have gotten something out of it, and he had a divine spark since then. The only thing he could not do was awaken it.
"Kurayami let's tale later, we got this to deal with."
They looked at the huge hoard of undead, but what took Kurayami's attention was a giant undead dragon that was attacking the spatial cracks along with other undead that gave off the aura of gods.
Ares himself whistled at how powerful they were, but the rest of the hoard was also nothing to scoff at. They were all in a crapy formation as a type of Lich was standing at the back front commanding large giant zombies to attack at the cracks.
As undead, they had forever to keep this up. No matter how long it took them they would escape and begin to devour the souls of the living to add to their power. They were sick of the sous of the dead and living souls called out to them sweetly.
The queen was gone, she had given up again their tenacity. They may die once, but they would come back forever and her will had failed and theirs had prevailed. Kurayami popped his neck before he looked a Raynare.
"I got the last one, you want the dragon?"
She nodded before twirling her scythe as they had been noticed but the hoard.
"No way in hell I am giving that one up. Vritra, how strong is it?"
"Very, it seems to be stronger than I was in my prime by quite a bit. You are a 14 winged fallen angel and soon you will join the superclass like your grandfather and Kurayami. Subduing this one will be great got your Dragon Force."
Kurayami waved his hand and behind him, all of his pets were out and they glared at the hoard of undead. Ladon in his dragon form looked at the dragon that Raynare wanted to tame.
"That will be perfect for the girl, an undead dragon, and a death user. Oh well, I will take on that thing."
He looked at a flying giant zombie undead which looked to be the strongest of them all. It even had a divine spark and quite a large one by the look of it that it would be fun. Tyrant flew in the sky as he locked eyes with a large death knight.
He was going to fight it, but Atakan(Blacknightmare) roared and charged at it. The other of Kurayami's familiars choose their foes to fight along with the rest of the group. As for Kurayami he locked eyes with the strongest undead here that seemed just a step away from reaching true godhood.
The Lich that was the one thing that in the history of being trapped in the Land of Shadows had not died even once. He had devoured soul after soul of his foes, and in the end, he was close to escaping.
(Lich pov)
The Lich could not remember his real name after being trapped here for so long. All he could remember was why he was here in the first place. At one point he was just a weak necromancer who wanted to tame an undead from here. Sadly he was too weak to do even that and he died as he lived. As nothing.
Hower after he had returned as an undead he could truly shine. When this place was sealed his only thought was to survive and to do that he had to fight and eat soul after soul. Now he was about to become a god, escape his prison, and all it would take was for him to kill this one.
The 16 winged being looked at him like he was a bug, how dare he? He was going to be a god, and all living would die and join his legion. The fool who challenged him looked at the dog at his side and a black broadsword appeared in his right hand.
Looking at it brought dread to him, his divine spark in his body was crying out in danger for him to run.
'RUN!?'
When his foe raised the sword and slashed down he felt a burning pain on his right side and he noticed his arm was gone. He noticed one thing that was even scarier, his divine spark was damaged.
The being smiled and looked at the sword with interest before speaking to him.
"The original Ame-no-Ohabari, was a katana. Shin here can create then whatever way he wishes and this is perfect against so-called divine beings. Of course, that includes divine spark holders like us, but your work will be put to good use."
(Regular POV)
A single slash after and the head of the lich came off his shoulders, but Kurayami did not destroy his soul. He had other uses for it and he collected the soul and the damaged divine spark. He wanted to see if he could forge his own weapon with it.
Once the Lich was dead which was easy, even if it was the most powerful being here it was still after all not a real god. Even if the undead here were at the 'god level' it was more like they just barely qualified for that.
That Lich might have in the future become a real danger as beings that became gods would be extremely powerful. The moment their master was dead most of the undead wanted to flee, but they were slaughtered.
As for the Zombie Giant that so confidently faced Ladon, it was melting in a sludge of poison. Yet he kept the soul as he knew that Kurayami could use the souls. As he looked around he noticed how Esdeath and Lavinia had caused a massive tundra among the dead.
Raynare had beaten the dragon she had black and blue and the poor thing was forced into a pact with her. Azazel was beaming with a smile that ran from ear to ear as he had collected so many powerful souls.
"KURAYAMI! Were over here."
He looked over and noticed that Natsume and the woman that Ophis talked about were there. They had watched the slaughter and Scathach felt that she could finally die. That sword looked like it could end her life, but he had no intention to do that.
Kurayami hugged Natsume tightly and he looked at Scathach and bowed to her.
"Thank you for keeping her safe. If there is anything I can do to repay you what is it?"
Scathach looked at the sword and she kneeled.
"I have one request, kill me."
He looked at her and he saw no hope like he used to have. It also made him a little angry as it reminded him so much of his weak self.
"Why?"
"I can never leave this place and when now that the dead are gone I have nothing left. I have longed to die the death of a warrior, but now that is lost to me. Just end it."
"Scathach, you still on that. More than anything I can't believe you are alive."
She looked over and saw Azazel flying over. Her eyes went wide open as she someone from her past. She had asked Azazel once in the past if he could kill her, but he had also refused.
"Azazel how long has it been?"
He thought about it and he answered.
"1,230 years since we last spoke. Of course, times work differently here than outside, but whatever. You still want to die?"
Kurayami had Shin get rid of the sword and he shook his head.
"You are not going to die today. It is a shame to kill someone with a divine spark like mine and Azrael's."
One thing about Divine Sparks is that they were rare and valuable. That was why it was a treasure trove that they could find so many here which had the right conditions for it. Azazel was already thinking of taking this plane for himself.
"Hey, can I keep this place? I could use this place as my personal realm, but I would have to move it from Ireland to Japan. It would be hard, but I bet Ophis can help."
Speaking of Ophis she had already opened the cracks and walked in to see Kurayami. She wanted her reward and she came to a peculiar conclusion. Why have one when she would have both of her wishes rewards?
When Kurayami saw the look on her face he knew he would be in trouble soon as the girls would ask to join in. He sighed, but he in reality loved it more than anything. However, it would have to wait.
"Hey Ophis, can you help her get out of her? She is kind of bound to this place."
Ophis glanced at Scathach and at the thing binding her here. Her divine spark was the result of killing the undead and a little about his place. Ophis had one way to get her out that would leave her divine spark intact.
"I can help?"
Scathach looked at Ophis and while death was her goal, just getting out would be nice too.
"How?"
"You become my mate's servant."
Ares and Artemis glanced at Ophis and explained what she meant. Artemis spoke up first about it.
"Powerful beings have servants or apostles that are bound to their master. Like me and my hunters. They are my servants and Apostles and as for Ares it is those who fell in war and warriors."
He nodded.
"If she swears loyalty to you she would have to leave this place as you would be her tether to this world. she should be long dead and only this place and her divine spark are keeping her alive."
He looked at Scathach and one thing he noticed is the more she heard about being able to leave her drained hope and battle spirit was reignited.
She stood up and her before nearly nonexistent intent to battle was now like a bright sun in his senses. Her twin spears were glowing ominous red as their master was back to how she used to be.
While they were not alive, they had a primitive conscious, but now Scathach will was reingited. She looked at Kurayami and she took a deep breath causing a black and red aura to leave her body which impressed him.
'Slaughter Intent, this will be fun.'
Rebellion who was at his side tuned into a sword into his hands and he pointed her at Scathach.
"You want me to prove myself, fine by me."
(Will continue next chapter.)
Well, why not have a reference to fate. I actually want Kurayami to go there alone to meet Kirei and mess with Gi.
