Jade stared at him and didn't know what to say for quite some time.

"I know my opinion won't be of any value to you but please listen to me first. What I want to say is that lord Gracia deserves mercy given his good deeds for the people of the North and favours the king Zachary," Jade pleaded.

That was the reason she came here today personally. She wanted to do as much as she could to save her father.

Given the history between her father and the king, she believed that she would be able to talk it out with Donovan.

"Rules, Jade. Just rules," Donovan emphasized the words. But it seems that Donovan was unwilling to give her any face, not even based on their long friendship.
