In the beginning, I wanted to incorporate more fighting elements, but guess what? After researching Tao and the wushu chapter, it didn't make sense for the mc to go that route. He was always intended to become a doctor, but I didn't think the novel would become a medical novel. I tell the other authors that my mc is too much of a coward, so i had to change the concept from action to slice of life/medical novel.
I try to write as accurately as possible, so if it isn't researched properly, I will skip it or fudge it, with the hope of doing proper research later, like the poker chapter.
Most medical procedures are fun to research and incorporate. TCM, on the other hand, is a pain. I still don't understand it much, but the sleep acupoints are based on published info.
If you have kept track of iPhones and tv shows, you may have come to the conclusion that the majority of vol2 takes place in 2017. I follow the calendar loosely and there are a lot of random time skips. I have removed the word "system" and "middle school syndrome" in the earlier chapters because the concept did not exist when the system first appeared in the story. Another major landmark is the standardized residency training in 2013.
Yide and most locations are fictional. The nearest city is probably Chengdu, which will be known as Panda City in the story.
There are probably a lot of stories that should be included in vol1 & 2, such as crime cases, but I don't have the time to write them.
Detective club is a bit of a cop out (lol, unintended pun,) but then again, it's such a Li Yun's move, to make others do the work for
him.
Rouxi and "Detective from the Future" was the reason why I uploaded this story. It was very difficult to write Li Yun's love life. Either because I suck, or because I really hate it when authors force romance into the story. And so, I decided to intentionally force the romance. There's a difference in being dragged down a road and steamrolling through it!
The creation of Rouxi did give me a bit of insomnia that I was secretly plotting to kill her in some way back in May. I really didn't know how to proceed, and was stuck at ~ch.30. I paused for a few weeks before finally deciding to upload on webnovel. But seriously, I thought
her whole backstory was a bit convoluted and forced, so I decided to intentionally force it down everyone throat by the end of the first
volume. After drafting the ZZ live chapter, I did end up liking her a bit.
I'm adding pictures to the Scribblehub version and there are polls there as well, so check it out.
I'm surprised people like vol2 since it was edited to the bare minimum of standards. Anyway, onto Vol3!
