After all, the Marvel Universe is crawling with geniuses who might pick up on that kind of slip. I settled on "Silver." Neutral, unassuming, and easy to explain away as a preference for silver coins or jewelry—nothing that would raise eyebrows.
Next, I had to determine whether the system included any kind of mind-reading resistance. With telepaths like Professor X and Emma Frost running around, I couldn't afford to have my thoughts exposed. Unfortunately, there wasn't a clear answer in the system, but I resolved to find out as soon as I could.
The third task was crucial: figuring out the timeline. But as an unborn child, that was easier said than done. Just as I was about to give up, the system panel flickered, and new information appeared.

The thought of my parents from my previous life crossed my mind, but it didn't linger. I was the second child, with an older sister and younger brother who could support our parents. They'd be fine without me.
Time blurred as I drifted between sleep and thoughts of the outside world. Three months passed in what felt like a heartbeat.

But as I opened my eyes, I was greeted by the sight of a pale-skinned woman with striking red eyes, dressed in the garb of someone of high status. She was sweating, clearly exhausted from childbirth.
Two male guards and a female servant flanked her. The servant slapped me to make me cry, and I heard her speak to my mother about their escape plans while handing me to one of the guards.
Before long, I was given milk, which I reluctantly accepted despite my embarrassment at being a grown man in mind and soul.

I decided to name my son Victor Black, so he would always remember his origins and his mother's name.
