Chương 82: The Brunch with Princess Celestia...

I hope I managed to deliver what I wanted in this chapter as it wasn't easy to write down this situation the way I pictured it, but in the worst case I'll get scolded by Deadpool XD
Also I know that the brunch was originally not a private affair and there were more than just the mane six at the event, but you can say this time it was basically Celestia aiming to spend some time with Starfall so I didn't write anything about other ponies in attendance. I totally wasn't lazy...
Also have it a day early. Know my benevolence! Haha!

Walking inside the Sugarcube Corner, Starfall expected to see many things...But an overly excited Celestia swooping him into a hug the moment he placed his goof inside was not one of them...
Starfall had been for a while experiencing mixed feelings towards Celestia. On one hoof, she was his beloved aunt, somepony who raised him alongside his parents and taught him a lot about magic, but on the other, Starfall realized just how beautiful she actually was... And for her age...well... for one, we have Luna...He would be a hypocrite if he accepted the Princess of the night, but denied her own sister...And this sudden hug he just received gave Starfall an indicator that maybe he wasn't the only pony with a conflict of feelings...
"Hello Princess, It's good to see you..." Starfall said as Celestia slowly released him from the overly long hug.
"Starfall! I was looking forward to seeing you...I mean all of you, haha, ha..." Celestia said as she turned to the others with a slight blush.
"Good morning Tia! It's so good to see you sister!" Luna said mostly amused by Celestia's behaviour, and didn't realize Celestia's slight change in expression when she looked towards her.
"Ah Luna!...Yes. It's so good to...see...you..." She said hugging Luna back with a slightly fake smile.
"Princess! I'm so happy to see you! I hope Mr and Mrs Cake gave you a proper welcome?" Twilight said as Celestia turned towards Twilight.
"Ah Twilight! My dear Student! I'm so happy to see you too! I hope your life in Ponyville Is satisfactory. And Yes. I had a pleasant welcome. The treats in this establishment are very much to my liking..." She said recovering her genuine smile as her eyes turned towards Starfall.
"Dear, would you be so kind and sit with me? I'd love to spend this brunch in your company..." Celestia said hopefully and Starfall nodded.
"Of course aunt Celly!" Starfall said not realising that Celestia didn't like him calling her aunt...
It wasn't long before they were sat at the table where Celestia and Starfall started to chat, but something felt wrong for Starfall during the entire conversation.
Celestia was very adamant on talking with him despite her surprising shyness, while seemingly giving Luna a cold shoulder. He was about to ask her about it but just at this moment the other girls arrived and Starfall volunteered to help them in, as the two guards at the doors were giving them trouble.
Celestia was a bit- no scratch that. Celestia was a Temple of Calmness. Yes...
"So Tia...How are you fairing in Canterlot? I hope the work doest cause you to much trouble..." Luna tried to speak to her sister.
"It's alright..." She simply replied without even turning towards Luna as her eyes stayed on Starfall who was helping a group of mares into the Sugarcube Corner.
Luna felt a bit confused with Celestia's behaviour... For a second she felt that this behaviour was familiar to her, as if the same thing happened before, but she was sure that Celestia never behaved in such a way, so who-
"Ah, everyone come. Celestia is waiting and we have a lot of Sweets to enjoy tonight!" Starfall suddenly said breaking Luna from her line of thoughts.
As Starfall sat beside Celestia, she was instantly pleased and was about to continue their previous talk, but suddenly one of the girls in the group spoke, ending up making her unable to do so.
"Princess! It's so good to see you again! We didn't see you since the Young Flier Competition. Thank you so much for recognising my talent!" Rainbow Dash said excitedly, remembering the Sonic Rainboom...
Celestia found herself swooped by a barrage of questions from the girls and as she remembered their first time meeting in the Everfree Forest when everyone ended up in a one giant group hug, she couldn't help but smile. 'That's right, she didn't come here just for Starfall right? She wanted to see her friends...And her Sister...' Celestia thought and unbeknownst to her, her Cutie Mark slightly brightened...
But as the talks continued, Celestia found herself unable to find a moment of freedom.
Despite everything, she still wanted to talk with him and hopefully get him to look at her in a more feminine light, but...
"Ah Starfall! Ah hope yar ready fer tonight. We are having a sleepover and we are goin' to make sure you make up fer the entire past week." Applejack said at some point during the brunch, and Some of the girls giggled at the implication.
Twilight on the other hand looked a bit embarrassed.
"Girls, maybe we shouldn't talk about this Stuff in the presence of the Princess?..." She said while looking at Celestia.
Applejack realised what she just said and her gaze fell on a mug of Cider she was just drinking before pushing it away with a blush of embarrassment...
"Please don't mind me...I really don't mind..." Celestia said through gritted teeth while not showing her actual emotions. 'Temple of Calmness... Temple of Calmness...'
Another spark jumped over her Cutie mark once again darkening it slightly.
"No, no. It's really not a topic for such conversations girls. Let's talk about something else. Right Love?..." Luna added recognising that her sister was indeed uncomfortable but missing the more pressing matter as she turned to Starfall.
"It's ok Dear. But yes, let's talk about something else..." Starfall sighed but none of them recognised that their interaction only worsened Celestia's mood.
The Princess watched her sister call Starfall love...and she felt it her chest... Jealousy...But she couldn't, right? She was Princess Celestia! The Ruler of Equestria and...and a Temple of Calmness...Yes...a Temple of-
"Starfall! I demand you to kiss me now!" Suddenly shouted Pinkie Pie to everyone confusion.
"Wha-Why?!" Asked Starfall in confusion.
"Because the Readers are bored and want you to advance the plot?...And because I really, REALLY want a kiss right about now..." Pinkie said in amusement making a cute, pleading expression.
Starfall and everyone looked at Pinkie in complete bafflement, but knowing Pinkie Pie's quirkiness they decided to just ignore it. Starfall on the other hand shrugged and leaned over to peck Pinkie Pie on the cheek.
"Here you go." He winked at her as she pouted.
"That's not what I meant..." She said but a small smile danced at the corner of her lips.
"you'll get your share later." He whispered into her ear and she finally relented... But this little interaction was only another brick in worsening the-
A Royal Guard approached the Princess and whispered something into her ear.
Celestia took a deep breath to hold in her emotions before saying.
"I'm sorry everypony. The Mayor has requested an audience with me...R-Royal duty calls..." She said a bit reluctantly and stood up to leave the Sugarcube Corner. She turned back hoping to ask Starfall to escort her, but before she could say it, she was approached by Luna.
"Come dear Sister, I'll accompany you!" She said And Celestia closed her eyes to repeat the mantra she had been saying surprisingly often these days...
'Temple of Calmness...Temple of... Calmness...'
While her Cutie Mark on the other hoof continued to redden...

Starfall stood in front of the cage housing Philomena while Fluttershy watched over the phoenix with a clear hint of worry.
"A-Are you sure she's going to be okay? I just...I can't find myself relax when I see her in this state..." She said with her voice filled with worry.
"Of course she'll be alright. All Phoenixes go through this process after a certain amount of time. The moment she looses her last feather, she's going to burst into flames and be reborn from her own ashes. That's the life of a Phoenix. right Phoebe?"He said turning towards a certain White Phoenix who was currently perched on the windowsill looking at Philomena in amusement.
Phoebe nodded towards Starfall and Fluttershy before turning towards Philomena.
'... you're looking like shit...' The White Phoenix said in amusement, causing Philomena to glance at her with a scolding look and screeched in reply something which most likely meant something along the line of 'Shut up and wait for your turn Whitie!'...
