Chương 63: Dates and Memories

Starfall walked up the stairs occasionally sending glances to the sides and observing the yellow and pink pastel coloured walls reminiscing of a cake, and the candy stylised decorations. No wonder Pinkie lived here. Sugarcube Corner wasn't just her workplace, but also a place that clearly fit most of her housing preferences.
He stopped in front of a circular staircase with the railings covered in ribbons. He decided to walk the stairs up what he assumed to be the tower like structure that could be seen from outside the Sugarcube Corner.
He soon stopped in front of a door at the end of the corridor, covered in party decorations and he couldn't help but smirk. It wasn't hard to guess which room belonged to Pinkie.
He slowly opened the doors and entered the room, getting surprised by the relatively neat and tidy interior.
The room was pretty large in size with its round interior taking up the entire tower. Another staircase to the left led to a balcony surroundings the middle of the room while her bed, a pretty sizable king-sized one, stood close to the staircase.
There were some bookcases and wardrobes and even a gramophone on a table close by the bed, and everything was decorated in balloons and pinkish purple flowers. It was rather comfy and much better than he expected from a room that the young mare essentially rented from her employes...
Suddenly an explosion of Confetti broke his train of thought as Pinkie Pie appeared, excited but still slightly embarrassed.
"Your here!...ahh... Welcome to my room Starfall! I-I know it's not much, but please make yourself at home." She said sporting her usual excitement as she led him inside towards the carpet beside her bed, where a bunch of pillows and treats had been prepared in a hurry.
Starfall could see that despite everything, Pinkie was still rather tense compared to her usual behaviour, so he stopped her with his hoof and kissed her lips with enough power to make her mind go silly...
"Wa-Wha-t..?" She said confusedly as she tried to regain her composure.
Starfall just laughed and gave her a second quicker peck before speaking.
"No need to be nervous Pinkie.We won't be doing anything you aren't comfortable with and I'm not going to mark your performance. I'll be totally alright with us just playing some party games or talk if that's all your willing to do." He winked and Pinkie couldn't help put smile wider and feel some of her nervousness leave her.
"I...Sorry... I'm so used to always be the cheerful party Pony in the company of others, that I do it even when I don't feel like it..." She said with an embarrassed smile before turning red and blush. "...But it always surprises me how you can tell my true emotions despite all that..." She said before performing a surprisingly feminine gesture of moving a wild strand of hair back into her bushy mane.
He had a suspicion that it wasn't accidental seeing as her mane was essentially magical and almost never fell down when she wasn't going full Pinkamena...
Starfall smiled and sat beside her on a pillow before chomping on a muffin that Pinkie had prepared...
Then he sighed...
"Well...I feel like its still not enough... If I really was so good at seeing your emotions, I would have long ago realized that there was a problem and helped you before it escalated..." He said with a painful expression remembering how scared Pinkie was of loosing her happiness.
Pinkie Pie didn't say anything and Starfall became worried that she resented him for not helping him when he felt her stand up and walk away somewhere.
He sighed but it wasn't long before the Pink mare returned and plopped onto the pillow right beside him snuggling into his side while a large album landed in front of them.
Starfall looked up at his marefriend and realised that she was smiling with a genuine smile before giving him a kiss.
"Silly Starfall. I know that you did your best. I don't blame you, and you did save me when I needed you the most..." She said, not letting Starfall reply and say that she didn't need his help because she would have been fine either way. She knew that it wasn't truth, because without him, she would have just fell deeper into her sadness and maybe really turn into her second personality... That's why she tapped on the book to gain his attention.
"What is this?" He asked, curiously looking at the colourfully decorated book that he originally assumed to be some kind of album.
Pinkie blushed and slowly opened the first page, which was covered in pictures of balloons, ribbons and smiley faces. The middle of the page depicted a few words scratched with childhood muzzlewriting and literarily said "PInkIE PiE's DaiRY"...
"Uhh..."dairy"?" He asked, and Pinkie flushed with embarrassment.
"Yes "dairy". I was very small back then. You have a problem with that?" She asked in mock annoyance and Starfall snorted.
"Alright then... So what's the reason you decided to take out your "dairy"?" He asked and she smiled before moving even closer to him than before and slowly moved the page forward.
"You already saw some of my memories... I felt like I could share this with you...if your ok with that..." She said a bit self conscious and Starfall realised that her showing him this diary must have took a lot from her and meant that she trusted him with the knowledge inside of it.
"...Only if YOU are ok with that." He replied and she smiled before completely opening the first actual page where writings of a filly surrounded with cute little drawings and glitter could be barely readable...
#Dear Dairy! My name Iz Pinkie Pai And I decided to write yu because I just saw something really butiful! It had so much colours as it spred over the horaizon and I never felt this happy in ever! And not only that! I got a Cuti Mark!#
A large drawing of Pinkie Pie's cutie mark was depicted under the words and Starfall decided to take this moment to glance at Pinkie.
She was looking at the diary with a fond smile while a blush covered her cheeks as she realised her poor muzzlewriting.
Starfall went back to reading and Pinkie would every now and then add something of her own while he in returned teased her about some old embarrassing memories that he found in the journal.
#My Sister Maud is soooo amazing! She can tell the name of every rock on the farm! I think I should throw her a stone party! I'm sure she'll love it!#
#Marble Pie Just got her cutie Mark! And it's three Marbles! What a coi-uhh...coincincdence! Family is really happy! Pa says that she's going to be a fine housewife of the Pie Family! I'm not sure what he meant by that but I'm sure it's something nice!#
#I don't understand why Limestone Pie cares for the Holder's Boulder so much, but I guess it's tradition. though she behaves almost irrational sometimes haha! I remember what she did to that squirrel which approached the Boulder too close once. I never knew a squirrel could ran away so fast!#
#The party was amazing! I did all I could to lighten up everyone's mood...but it's still painful for me to leave the Rock Farm...Despite how harsh it was in the past, its still my home and I'll miss everyone so Very Very much! I made sure to give everyone something to remember me by and I'm about to go...Wish me luck...#
#A nice Pony I met on the road recommend a town called Ponyville. That's funny though. To call a town using the word 'Pony', But she probably should say anything since her own town was called Rockville...#
#This is so amazing! Everypony is so nice! I didn't see a single gloomy pony, although they clearly needed to have some party to lighten up even more! I met a nice couple in the bakery! They make delicious treats and they agreed to let me work for them and even rented me a large room to live in! I'm so lucky!#
#It was a while since I settled in Ponyville and I can honestly say that its just as much a home for me as the Rock Farm, maybe even more! And I even got visited by my sister's! Don't let her fool you! Limestone is a softie no matter how tough she appears on the outside haha! I'm going to visit my family on Heartswarming Eve! I'd love to eat some of our traditional rock soup!#
#I finally finished my secret party-planning basement! It was hard to get everypony's party preferences and favourite foods but Im finally done! Sigh... I feel like I need a break... This was really tiring...good that I have this muffin!.

Starfall continued to read the diary together with Pinkie who was now wrapped in his embrace enjoying his presence. They were approaching the more recent entries and he could see that Pinkie was getting more red the further they got.
#I just met a pair of new Ponies! They are unicorns and they clearly never had a party from me! Oh oh! What do I do?! Let's just go with the regular one! I'm sure they are going to appreciate it!...But that Stallion...He was so handsome! I wonder if they are a couple... Maybe I could join them...What are you thinking Pinkie!? Focus! Party! Yes Party!#
#Starfall is so amazing! He didn't even flinch when the scary trees appeared! Just like me! And he even joined my singing! He's so good at it too! I'd love to hear him sing more but he seems unwilling... maybe I can get him to have a karaoke with everyone?... Right! I think I'm gonna like those girls. After all we went ona dangerous adventure to save the world together! If that doesn't make us friends then I don't know what could haha!#
#Twilight and Starfall are a couple now...not like I didn't see that coming but...ughh I'm jealous! There's no denying it... But at least not everything is lost since they don't seem to be against increasing Starfall's herd in the future...#
#I was right! Starfall dtarted inviting other girls on dates! I wonder when I'm gonna be invited...#
#He's so busy. I know that is why he didn't invite me yet, but it still hurts a little...#
#I just talked with him about my past and he doesn't seem to be against dating me! though we still have it hard to find a right moment to get together...#
#Yesterday I had that nightmare again...I stood in the empty rock farm and looked at my reflection in a puddle of water. My hair were straight and my usual smile was nowhere to be seen...the reflection looked back at me and actually spoke!...I was so terrified, but it didn't seem like She had any bad intentions...She just seemed sad as her words lingered throughout the wasteland... See you soon...#
#I don't know why, but I feel distressed lately...im still keeping my usual smile but...there's just something wrong...#
#Starfall invited me on a date! finally! I so super duper mega happy that even my recent worries almost disappeared!...almost....#
#It's gone! The voice in my head that always was there but was never mine to begin with! I thought It was just my imagination. An imaginary friend from when I was young that never left... but it was actually a second personality according to Starfall! It's so crazy! And despite what he's saying about me being able to remove it without his help, I know that it's not true...I would have just fell deeper into despair and he was the spark in the tunnel which brought me back to light! I....I love him so much...#
Stsrfall looked at Pinkie who was now avoiding his gaze and he couldn't help but smile.
He slowly pulled Pinkie towards him and got her to look into his eyes before kissing her.
"I love you Pinkie..." He whispered and Pinkie Pie's eyes teared up at the words while her chest got filled with warmth.
"I...I love you too...Starfall..." She replied, before kissing him gently and wrapping her hooves around his neck...
