Chương 15: The First President?

Now that the weapons problem are solved, he now needs to focus on the other logistic side of mustering up an army. Because even if Renaldo is a Reincarnator, he doesn't have the ability to just poof everything out of existence, nor can he support an army without proper resources to support it, for if he tries to do so, his army will starve to death before they even have the chance to march.

Renaldo thought of a lot of needed resources and how to produce them. He knows how to produce them but he currently lacks the land to support his endeavors, his grandfather is currently trying to solve this problem by mass buying lands that are currently so cheap but the problem is, Renaldo wants to do everything as productive as he could, he doesn't want to just wait here while his grandfather is buying and developing land by himself so Renaldo thought of solving the food and construction problems first as they are the only things that he can solve, the other resources such as oil, rubber, copper, transportation and communication are to be solved in a much later date.

Renaldo thought of ways to improve the way of preserving foods and double or triple the yield of crops. He called went to his grandfather and told him about a method used by people in the future that revolutionized the way they plant and harvest rice, it is called transplanting. Renaldo wants to use the first transplanting machine that was invented by a japanese man called Heigoro Kawano in 1898, the only thing is he'll do it a bit earlier as to benefit himself and his people.

His grandfather was ecstatic about this as this will bring more profits for him and he can also spare some more food to support his grandson's plans, this will make them self-sufficient for a long time without depending on external supplies!

With that out of the way, Renaldo also gave his grandfather several blueprints of fortresses used in the second world war, these blueprints will be used on Navotas and the other plots of land that his grandfather will buy in the future, it will be a great burden of expense but with their new soda business and the triple yield using transplanting, the expenses will be negligible in the future! They will earn more than what a poor country like the Philippines could, which in turn gives them an advantage over the Spaniards.

Seeing that everything is now on fixed and he has nothing to do, Renaldo chose to go and see the progress of those orphans that he adopted as his retinue. He wants to see the progress of Eliza, Estong, Nicanor and that new kid called Elizear personally, because even if his animals tell him their progress, he still wants to see them with his own eyes as to satisfy his own vanity.

So he followed his whim and went to the camp in secret as to see their progress without them knowing that he's there.

At the camp, the children were all busy trying to practice military exercises and martial arts, some orphans are also trying to improve their aim by using those M93's that Renaldo's grandfather let them borrow, although their are only 500 units of M93s, the children take turns in using them and then picking up the cartridges that was used by them manually to recycle them and use them again. There are some children who are really great at shooting though and Renaldo told them to focus more on shooting as they will be part of a special unit that he will make in the future.

Nicanor is busy practicing drills with a few hundred orphans, this was a task given to him by Renaldo to improve his commanding skills and at the same time improve the coordination and unity of the orphans.

Eliza is very busy counting the logistics of the orphans, she is responsible for managing the food and budget of the whole army and it is something that she enjoys to do.

Her brother Estong on the other hand is very busy making spike bayonets to attach them to rifles and bolo knives go equip the orphans some minimum sort of personal protection. He is also busy trying to learn gunsmithing from his new master, a gunsmith sent by Renaldo's grandfather a month ago, Renaldo told him that gunsmithing is the future and should not be neglected, Estong took this to heart and tried to learn gunsmithing as much as possible in his free time.

As Renaldo was watching them do their own thing, he noticed two kids in the distance, they were on point with their shots with very good posture and fit bodies, Renaldo asked his animals their name and he was astonished by what he knew.

The tallest kid is called Elizear, he was a talent that got into Renaldo's radar a few years ago so he wasn't surprised with him but he was astonished to hear Andres Bonifacio's name, he wasn't supposed to be here! He was orphaned at an early age but it shouldn't be this early at the very least! And there were records that said that he wasnt really orphaned at a young age so why was he here?

He almost shat his pants by this sudden turn of events but luckily, his information network is huge because of his animals, it turns out that Andres is a close friend of Elizear, and that before Elizear got into the orphanage, he was part of Bonifacio's circle of friends so when he got here, he tried to ask the trainers if they could also let him train with them, they they didn't let him in at first but Bonifacio made a deal with Renaldo's father of bringing other orphans in exchange for the same opportunity, Mauricio let him join the training as he is also a great helper and a charismatic person who led other orphans here, this situation led to the current happenings wherein in exchange for learning here, Bonifacio directs other orphans from the slums to the orphanage, to help it grow in numbers.

Renaldo applauded his father's ingenuity and Bonifacio's wits which led to a beneficial relationship between the two, he was also happy as to make a pretty early connection with someone like Bonifacio so he came out in the open and huddled everyone up.

This startled the children as Renaldo comes here seldomly and it is also the first time that he came here without prior notice, the most shocked person is Elizear and Bonifacio because Renaldo wasn't informed of their setup and they thought that he might get upset so Elizear told Bonifacio to join the ranks as to hide from Renaldo's sight, little does he know that it is futile to do so.
