Hours had past and the king had woken up after a long while. He sat on the throne, a grim look on his face, and anger in his eyes.
The king looked down at filthy councilman who had been well tortured by his daughter.
Right now, he was scared of even his own shadow.
He could still hear the princess's voice from when she'd tortured him.
Calm, cool, sweet but more than deadly than most imagined.
Nothing compared to the pain he'd felt as she drove a hammer on his bone or the pain he felt when she placed the heated fire poker directly on the injury caused by the arrow shot by the sister of light.
Each moment, away from her torture Chambers he remembered the pain like he'd never left.
" He has confessed to all his crimes and that he alone acted with the dark witches. " the king said. " So what do you suggest we do to him? " he asked looking at the room at large.
The princess sat next to her father. Her mind still not satisfied with all she'd put the councilman through. She wanted more.
" Father we'd need not delay this any further. He should pay for his crimes. " the princess replied nonchalantly.
" And what do you suggest? " her father asked.
" Have him nailed to death, slowly and painfully. Directly on his head, it would be better, from the side. That will make him think twice before he betrays someone else in his next life. " she said in an icy tone.
The other councilmen paled at the horrific picture the princess had projected and thanked their stars they were not in councilman Ernest's shoes.
As councilman Ernest sat on he floor with his hand tied behind his back, he thought back to all that he'd done regretting it instantly.
The doors to the throne room opened and Leonard came in with the sister of light behind him as well as two other women and a little boy.
One of the women seemed to be of high-class and the other appeared to be her helper. Meanwhile the child looked scared and clung to the elegant lady even as she pushed him off her dress.
They came to stand before the king.
The lady's helper bowed to the king.
But the elegant lady raised her nose to the king after seeing the man writhing in fear on the ground.
She was disgusted that her own husband had been reduced to nothing and that their plans to escape had failed thanks to the burden of a child who just had to go find his nanny. She had of course left him behind hoping to save herself but she had been accosted by the sister of light and the princess's personal guard.
She gave the child one final push when his presence became more than bearable.
He fell to the floor with trembling lips and looked to his nanny who had a smile on her lips as she stared straight ahead not bothered by him.
The king narrowed his eyes at their insolence and with a look towards Leonard, the boy was taken outside.
" You don't seem to fear the king. " the princess who had been quiet through all this said without looking up, rather she continued to stare at the councilman who kept shaking in fear at what would happen to him next.
The lady knew the princess was speaking to her and she scoffed in reply.
" King? I see no king. Only a spoilt brat who inherited the throne from his father. "
Her words caused the princess to look at her.
A smile formed on he princess's lips. " Are you one of the people who thinks my father doesn't deserve the throne even despite all that he's done for this kingdom and his people. "
" Anyone could have done what he's done and wasting our resources on the poor, those filthy scums whom I wouldn't have touch the back of my shoes much less my feet. A king indeed. " she said in mock. " My husband would have done a better job than this charade your father has. "
" Ah " the princess replied in a quiet tone.
" You have your eyes on the throne. " the king said in amazement. " Your family has no ties to the throne and still yet you want it. "
" Want it?! I and my husband deserve it but of course that fool just had to mess things up with the dark witches. We would have the throne now if not for his cowardice. Yet despite all that I still believe that what one deserves should be given to them! "
The councilmen looked at Lady Helen like she had gone mad especially with all the nonsensical rubbish that she had spouted.
So it was true that the desire for the throne could drive one insane.
How could she not sense the cold chill in the air which spoke that her death was near.
They wondered how the princess would torture her.
The princess's smile grew wider as she said. " I couldn't agree with you more. We all should be given what we deserve. But you my dear are not deserving of the throne, not even a blade of grass from the palace. Even that… is above you. "
The lady boiled where she stood considering climbing up the stairs to the throne seats just to strangle the brat.
" Shut up you little brat! "
The princess's eyes widened as did that of the others in the room. But her smile never faltered.
" It seems I touched a nerve. " Clarissa said placing her hand on her lap.
Helen now more than ever before wanted her dead. " You think so highly of yourself, serving out punishment to others and killing them as you wish but that is only because you are on the throne. You are nothing but a little bitch who couldn't even inherit her mother's powers... "
Those were the last words she spoke as in the next second she choked on the knife hanging out from her mouth and fell dead to the ground.
Councilman Ernest screamed moving far away from his wife's dead body.
The princess who had thrown the knife purred, stretching as she stood up from her throne seat.
All stared at her in shock not expecting her to do that.
" Her voice annoys me. " the princess said looking at them. " Torturing her would have been torture itself. " she looked at the body one more time and then said. " Have the child brought to my room. You too " she said fixing her gaze on the lady's helper.
She nodded, her heart beating wildly.
She descended down the stairs and stood next to the body, examining it. " I need to work on my aim. The next time I throw my knife, I want the head to drop. " she bent down and pulled out her knife from the lady's mouth which slacked to one side not caring that her gown would be stained with the blood which pooled around her.
She cleaned it on the dead lady's face and smiled. " There, you look so much better. Have her buried in a village cemetery. Trust me she's going to turn in her grave. "
And then she walked out leaving her shocked audience to their thoughts.
