Chương 24: Frist time....?

After getting a green signal from Ivan, both of them pushed Amber aside before running away.

"Ahh—" Amber stumbled and yelped in shock.

"Woah—" Ivan caught her wrist and helped her stand still again.

Looking towards the direction the two suspected muggers had escaped, she widened her eyes in shock. "They left, your wallet—"

"It's okay, it did not have much cash."

"But still, are you going to let them get away with this so easily?" Scrunching her brows, she commented, "You are a fairly built young man, why didn't you break his nose?"

Awkwardly clearing his throat, he justified himself. "I am not into any kind of violence."

"So what makes you think that I love violence? Do you think that I go around pointing my knife on random people? You need to stand up for yourself. What if they had stabbed you or had done anything worse?" she grumbled at him.

Not having anything to say, he faked a sigh. "You are right, I'll be careful next time."

Closing her knife, she placed it inside her bag. "You are lucky that I found you."

Pointing towards her bag, he asked, "Do you always carry that in your bag?"

"Of course, you should be more thankful that carry them around," she chimed.

Nodding his head, in agreement, he stated, "I have never in my life been so thankful for anything." Pausing for a while, he curiously questioned her. "Do you do this often? I mean, saving innocent people from getting mugged with a pocket knife and pepper spray in your hand?"

"This was my first time."

Widening his eyes in shock, he gasped, "Really? If you hadn't told me, I would've never found out."

"Honestly, I was so worried but I tried not to show it in front of the muggers," she explained.

"You really hid it well," Ivan praised her.

"Okay, I need to leave now—" Glancing at the watch, Amber gasped, "I am late for my appointment."

"I am late too," he muttered.

Running towards the main pathway, she remarked, "It was nice meeting you, go home safe and don't get mugged again."

Helplessly shaking his head, he chuckled, "Crazy."

While Amber was walking towards the building, she saw the mugged man following her. Thinking he wanted something, she asked, "Do you want something?"

"No," he answered. "I am also going this way."

"Oh, cool—" Giving him a weak smile, she resumed walking.

When she arrived at the entrance of the building, she noticed him coming the same way. Ignoring him, she quickly rushed towards the elevator.

Inside the elevator.

Thinking she might have lost him, Amber breathed a sigh of relief but that lasted only for a couple of seconds.

When Ivan suddenly entered the elevator, she quickly cornered herself to one side, away from him. She then quickly pressed the fifteenth floor button.

Turning towards him, she asked, "Which floor?"

"The same one," he casually answered.

Without saying anything, she impatiently waited for the elevator door to open.

Noticing her uneasiness, Ivan asked, "Are you okay?" When she nodded her head, he glued his eyes back on his phone.

Fifteenth floor.

As soon as the door opened, Amber stepped out and rushed towards her cabin only to notice that the mugger man was also coming the same way.

As soon as he stopped right next to her, she snapped at him. "Alright, I helped you from getting stabbed and now you are following me?"

"I—"

Cutting him off, she added, "If you want my number then I am sorry I can't give it to you so will you please leave before I call the security?"
