Chương 17: The Base

Yu Yan took the chance to look out of the car to memorize the route. This was a habit she had when she was going with the client because it was usually important for her to know where the location where they preferred was. After all, it was necessary for her to make sure that the meeting place was somewhere where the client was comfortable.

Of course, most of the meetings would be held in the office and only occasionally would she come out.

Long Ying took out his phone and began to direct his order. There were some matters that he had to finish, so he quickly sorted out the messages that his men and other clans' representatives sent. It took him some time to finish everything.

That way, the two of them sat in silence in the car.

An Lin was also not a talkative person, but he continued to glance to the back from time to time. He was wondering why his Boss was so quiet when he was finally with the woman he wanted… but looking at the two of them, they didn't look awkward and instead looked as if they were simply enjoying each other's presence.

Hmm, should he find a method to drive from a distance so he would not destroy their atmosphere?

Before An Lin could think for an answer, they had arrived.

Long Ying kept his phone and looked at Yu Yan. "Let's get in. Follow me and don't wander around."

"I'm not a child." Yu Yan held a helpless expression.

"Just in case."

Hand in hand, the two of them entered the building. The people inside were mostly men, dressed in formal suits and worked behind the desk. If one didn't know better, they might think of this as a normal company.

They were all chatting away in merry manner but when Long Ying come in, everyone stayed quiet. They didn't dare to make any noise in case their Boss' mood turned sour and then his anger was directed at them.

But…

They noticed that their Boss was coming in with a woman.

A woman?

All eyes set on the two of them in disbelief. Those who were working calmly now looked like he had seen an alien walking in. They felt as if that if the sun suddenly rose from the west, it wouldn't be as surprising as seeing their Boss walked to their Base while holding a woman's hand.

'Uh….' Yu Yan felt uncomfortable under their gaze. She was wondering whether she looked weird or not but she had been wearing quite a conservative clothes. Her hair was also combed properly. The makeup should still cover her bruises too, so she shouldn't look that scary, right?

Long Ying glared at them. "What are you looking at? Get back to work!"

"Yes!"

The men scrambled to look at their own work, but their eyes kept on twitching. Right now, they wanted to yell to the Heaven. Did someone trade their Boss and the one standing here was a fake one?

But there shouldn't be anyone who would dare to do that because Dragon Clan would surely kill them all should they dare to do that. There was not even any need for Long Ying to do the work by himself because their friend would be punching them to keep their mouth shut. No one would dare to slander Dragon Clan without any basis unless they seek death!

Yu Yan looked at the group of men with amusement but Long Ying had already dragged her to another room. It was then she noticed that Long Ying actually had a proper workplace on his own.

The room was neat with a bookshelf on one side while at their front was a set of table and chair. There was also smaller table and sofa in front of that table, which might be for the guest who come here.

"This is…?"

"A separate room. There's one in every Dragon Clan's territory for me." Long Ying actually didn't want to explain too much, but he felt that his woman would pester him if he didn't explain.

"I see."

Long Ying proceeded to walk to the table while Yu Yan looked around in curiosity. This place… was totally out of her expectation.

When she came here, she thought that it would be like what she had watched in television during her free time. Those dabbed in underworld would be living in cramped and hidden place with many men smoking. The place would not even have proper lightning as they were afraid of other people finding out.

But…

This place was instead looked very comfortable as if it was nothing more than an ordinary office. In fact, if one came here, they would really think that this was an office rather than a clan's base.

"Do you not need to disguise yourself?"

"Disguise?" Long Ying arched his eyebrows. "This is already the perfect disguise."

"Yes?"

"We're a delivery company and it's easy for us to head everywhere."

"Eh…?"

However, there's NO need to read 1 Year of Beginning to read 2 Years of Restarting because the two stories are different from each other. They can be read as separate story as they have different leads and theme.
