Chương 21: Man of ethics...

Taking a deep breath to calm down her nerves, Sophia finally revealed in a straight line, "Actually, we want you to go on a date with someone we've arranged for you."

Katherine took few seconds to register everything in her mind. And when she finally did, a loud gasp escaped from her mouth.

"What? What did you just say, Mumma? You want me to go on a date? That too with someone who is practically a stranger!

I mean, from where did this idea of sending me to a blind date even come into your head?" Katherine asked in exasperation, not able to believe what her mother just said a moment ago.

Sophia looked at her daughter, completely deadpanned and said in a nonchalant tone, "He is definitely not a stranger because you know both his parents and grandfather. In fact you love the latter a lot."

Katherine's eyes furrowed in confusion. She was not able to decipher anything from her mother's merry go round words. Their behaviour was not making any kind of sense according to her.

Sighing loudly, Katherine mumbled, "Wait a second! How could I know someone's parents and grandfather when I haven't met the man in person. Even if I know them, then how is it related to the man I'm going to a blind date with?"

"It's absolutely related because the boy you're going on a date with, is your Joseph grandpa's only grandson Ethan. His parents liked you very much for their son...

In fact, they were the one to bring a marriage proposal for their son. They want both you and Ethan to get married as soon as possible." Reno finally disclosed everything to his daughter, not intended to beat around the bush anymore.

Katherine sat there completely frozen with the erupted information which had been thrown to her like ping pong ball..

Trying to gasp everything at once, Kathrine closed her eyes and inhaled few sharp breaths. It was inevitable for her to become all nervous as she felt her head started to spin around, not able to digest the completely unexpected news.

Being a little dramatic that she was, she held her head tightly as if to stop the dizziness and asked, "They wish me to marry Ethan, as like Grandpa Joseph's grandson? But why so suddenly?

The eldest member of their family had just died and they're already asking for my hand for their son's marriage? What kind of family does that?"

Katherine's questions were to the point and extremely sharp which made Reno smile in pride.

Sophia sighed big and started speaking, "We too thought the same at first. But when came to know the real reason, we can only agree with their decision as it seemed to be the best for you..

Actually, it was uncle Joseph's last wish to get both of you married after his demise. He wanted your wedding to take place as soon as possible. Moreover we both were also impressed with Ethan's great convincing skills and their family seems to be good too.

So we didn't want to refuse them so bluntly and agreed to send you on a date with Ivan. But the final choice will always be yours. If you deny to marry him, then no one will be able to force you. That's a mother's promise to her precious daughter."

Katherine kept gazing down, her eyes fixed on her lap as she kept fidgeting with her fingers. Her thoughts winded around that particular night where she had shared a few conversation with Ethan, for the first time..

Recalling, how he was so much worried about his grandpa who was no more present between them, it was not tough for her to analyse that he was actually caring and loving..

If he could love his grandpa and parents so much, then it was needless to say, how much he would love his wife after marriage..

Seeing her keeping silence, Reno decided to speak her heart's out to her as he said, "If you ask me about my opinion, then I should tell you that, you'll never find a man like Ethan who already respects your choices even before meeting you.

He's a well behaved man who can keep you happy for the rest of your life. Simply, he's a man of ethics who had gone completely on his grandfather. Now the choice is completely yours if you wanna proceed further or not."

Katherine could easily detect the adoration her parents had for Ethan. Even she too had a good perception about him in her heart.

That was why, she thought to give it a try!

After all, she could also deny the proposal if she did't like him that much after meeting him!

So inhaling a sharp breath, she looked at her parents with confidence and announced, "I'm ready for the date.."

As soon as these words escaped from her lips, she was engulfed in a tight hug by her mother as she squealed loudly in happiness of her daughter's positive response.

While, Reno just kissed her forehead, smiling brightly at her as relief washed over his face.

Cafe Pearls…

Katherine entered the cafe, wearing a light blue off shoulder dress which had frills around her chest area.

Although she had done a normal make-up and wore a simple dress, but her beauty stood up so brightly that it could outshine any girl in a snap of a second..

She was waiting for a particular white t-shirt and black jacket guy, when she heard her name being called from her behind..

"Katherine…"
