Chương 14: Suspicions Rise...
(Kushina POV)
Opening my eyes for what felt like the first time in years, I saw a ceiling that I couldn't recognize. Weird patterns spread over it and the walls. Suddenly somebody came into my field of view. Dressed in a black uniform, featuring a Konoha headband in his arm… making me feel a little safer as one of our own was nearby.
All that was thrown out of the window the moment I saw his eyes though, featuring the 3-tomoe Sharingan, I couldn't help but draw ties to the masked man that attacked us. What if this Uchiha was also on his side. Did that mean I had been captured?
My thoughts stopped as I heard his voice, bringing my attention to the current situation.
"Excuse me, do you know who you are? Do you remember what happened?" – he asked as I was trying to speak with little success. I could barely move at the moment, feeling too exhausted.
Instead, I resorted to nodding my head. He seemed satisfied at that, before asking another question
"Do you remember your son?" – he asked again.
As he asked that I froze, for a moment I had forgotten all about what had happened prior to waking up. The Nine Tails had been set free and we were forced to reseal in Naruto.
"N…ar….uto…" - he nodded as I spoke my son's name.
"I have good and bad news for you. Your son survived and is currently living well. Your husband and you on the other hand…" – a small smirk crept up his lips.
I turned my head as I cried. Ahh… I knew the moment Minato decided to use that Jutsu that he… wait, did he say my husband, and me?
As I turned my head back to the shinobi in front of me all I saw was a blade with what looked like veins connecting it to the shinobi before darkness took me once more.

"Do you actually like to roleplay?" – Orochimaru asked as he came inside, as I had just finished consuming Kushina.
"Huh? I just had to make sure it was the right one, the fact that she took her eyes off me to cry proves it was our girl. Emotions always blind people, be it to dangers or opportunities."
"Kukuku, I would like to believe I had a little bit of credibility left in me, you should know that I wouldn't scam you in something as important as this." – Orochimaru laughed and said as he made his towards me.
I turned to look at him as I squinted my Mangekyou.
"It is not you that I doubt Orochimaru, nor your ability… let's just say I have seen souls of debatable origin possess bodies of this world. Where there is one there will be others. Not here specifically but you can never be too sure you're not the one bringing them back. After all, someone is."
"Souls of debatable origin… souls that do not belong to this world then, but you aren't sure to what world they belong. For you to take precautions despite having a Mangekyou, coupled with your physical abilities… it can't be that you fear their strength so…. Is it their potential? But then again with what I just saw, I can't believe anyone or anything having more potential than you so it all comes down to one possibility. These souls with unknown origin do not just come back to life… they come back with something special, something that you have at least seen at its weakest but don't want to see to reach its strongest… at least not against yourself. Am I right?" – Orochimaru asked with a smirk.
"You are smart Orochimaru… and mostly correct, but with one exception." – As I spoke, golden chains burst forth from the floor, the walls, the ceiling as well as my back.
"I do want to see it at its strongest… just not yet, not when I don't have 100% certainty of obtaining it." – The chains tied Orochimaru and bound him in the middle of the room, hanging in midair while being pulled in every direction and yet, except surprise, he didn't show any fear. If anything the look on his face showed how excited he was.
"…Are you that fascinated by my physiology?" – I asked as I got an immediate nod without even finishing my sentence.
"…How about I let you do a small experiment that involves my cells. An experiment that will change the world." – I asked as my Mangekyou rotated, locked into Orochimaru.

(Hiashi Hyuga POV)
Kei Uchiha… I had my doubts about him. How a child could come to have that much power right under everyone's noses.
And I was finally coming to a conclusion… that he might be Orochimaru's student or his experiment. It wasn't unheard of for Orochimaru to clone someone… but someone of this caliber. Only Madara Uchiha came to mind. Included in this was the fact that I tracked him while outside the village. I couldn't keep up with his speed but given the direction, he headed towards after leaving Neji with a clone… I feared the worst. What could he possibly need to do outside the village, especially with no clan members to speak of? The only reason that came to mind was to meet someone. Given the boy's attitude and mannerisms, the only one I could see him cooperating with would be Orochimaru. Their thirst for power was similar.
Sadly Jiraya had no luck pinpointing the snake's location for some time now. All I could do is inform him that I had credible intelligence that he had been detected in the direction Kei Uchiha ran towards. The recent Sound Village was located in that direction so maybe Jiraya could dig something up. One of Orochimaru's hideouts may be located there.
I hoped I was wrong, at least regarding Orochimaru. Having a Kage level threat inside the village attack us at a critical moment would prove disastrous. Even more so with the support he was getting as of late.
And as far as Neji's training went… I was not sure if he was trying to assassinate him or actually training him.

(Back to our mc POV)
(A/N: This is bad, I think I'm getting addicted to POV guys.)
"Kukuku… this is… kukuku…" – Orochimaru couldn't stop laughing and holding his stomach after hearing my little experiment.
"Is there something funny Orochimaru?" – I asked him.
Turning towards me Orochimaru had a crazed light in his eyes.
"No… this experiment of yours might just be one of the most interesting things in the world… as well as the last. I was wondering though, are you certain? There is no coming back afterward. It will be hell on earth."
"Oh… haven't you heard Orochimaru? We are in hell." – I smiled as I said to him.
"Anyway, it is a mere contingency. I have not decided to implement it yet for sure. I will not underestimate my enemy just because he might do the same with me. One way or another I will win, it is a mere question on whether it will be the easy way or the hard way."
