"Fukui, we got mail!" Saitama called from outside my room.
"We...?" I mumbled. I hadn't even gotten out of bed yet.
They had sent all our mail at the same time? Who even sent it?
I'll just find out when I go upstairs I guess.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I had changed into something more appropriate and was now with Saitama and Genos, going through the many, many letters we had gotten.
I say "we" but they were mostly for Genos.
That didn't mean me and Saitama didn't get any, it just meant that we had, like, three each and Genos had over 100.
I personally did not expect him to read all of them, but he went about it diligently despite the darker and darker look on his face.
I wonder what they said?
Since Saitama seemed fine just watching Genos go through his, I opened one that I managed to find after digging through Genos' letters.
"Please step on-" I closed the letter.
I would be throwing that one away immediately.
I don't know how to feel about throwing it away because if the guy who sent it knew I did it immediately it would probably harm me more than him.
If anything he would love that I did it.
Wait, could it be a girl? I am not brave enough to find out.
Saitama, seeing that I had opened mine, took out one of his and opened it.
"No one cares about you, you cowardly, cheating bastard." The letter read.
"Woah, you got a violent one." I would have much preferred something like that over whatever the hell I got.
"Damn, I am going to find out who sent that immediately and-"
"Here's a guy with free time." Saitama commented before Genos got to riled up.
"Right? Why do people even bother to write letters?" I shuddered slightly.
I didn't read most of my letter but I saw a few key words that I am not willing to repeat.
Anyway, the letter that Saitama got reminded me of the fat bastard that blabbed yesterday. Imagine thinking any of the heroes who had fought were weak?
Especially me! That offends me greatly! I cut into the fish bastard so many times and even incinerated him! Well it didn't do too much, but it was surely much stronger than the "average joe" as he stated.
I bet he is the type to go on the internet and act like he knows about a subject that he clearly doesn't know.
Another letter was a letter of thanks, Saitama got one as well. From what I could tell, they were both sent by the same person, but I couldn't really tell who.
I also got a letter telling me of my rank 1 placement in C Class. I thought Saitama would have gotten it considering he beat the monster, but I got it for some reason.
From what I could tell though, Saitama would be able to move up after I did since he was still rank 2.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I was called to the Hero Association through the letter and arrived there fairly quickly.
"Yo." I sat lazily in the chair provided.
This room was unnecessarily large, the chair was in the center of the room, but the people who I was talking to were 10 meters away. Honestly a poor use of space, but I guess they have to seem imposing somehow to all these superhumans.
"Congratulations on Class C, rank 1." A man with a smooth haircut started.
"Ya, I thought Saitama was going to get that first so I was a little caught off guard."
"Saitama? Ah, you mean Class C, rank 2. He will get his turn if you decide to move up to Class B."
"Is that what this meeting is for?"
"Correct. Us four will be conducting the interview."
"Would you like to move up? Keep in mind that while in B Class, you'll be ranked at the bottom."
"Sure, I got nothing that's keeping me from it so why not."
"A promotion then?" The woman sitting at the end recorded something on the paper she had.
"First we'll be asking some questions along with a psychiatric analysis."
To see if I am worthy of moving up? I suppose that's fine.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It wasn't too hard to answer the questions. I just answered as honestly as I wanted and they accepted them. I couldn't tell what the psychiatric test was, but I assumed it was important.
I was now Class B, rank 101. I ruined the round number of B Class, but I wasn't about to stay in Class C for a sense of congruity.
For now, I guess I would get Saitama and Genos to meet Bang. He had been asking me lately to bring them whenever I went to learn more of the style.
At this point, I had learned everything, and now it was just mastery of the skills. Which I had been slacking on a little...
My new powers are really cool so I end up getting distracted from perfecting the fist of flowing water crushing rock.
Well, I'll always live knowing that despite me focusing on something completely different, that I am doing more than Charanko.
Who is Charanko? Good question. Doesn't matter.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Over a month later, I took Saitama and Genos to Bang, and nearly immediately he tried to rope them both into the art.
He flowed into the main stance for it.
"And, that's about what it looks like. You both look like quick learners, I bet you'd be able to get a hang of it in no time." Bang spoke quickly, as to give them a better opinion of himself.
"Old man, do you really need to try to rope them in, first thing?" I complained.
Truly, if they learned this, I wouldn't even have anything unique to my name anymore (ignoring literally everything else). Anyway, if Saitama were to be Bangs student even slightly, he would immediately be Bang's strongest student.
"Fukui, is this the cool thing the old guy said he wanted to show us?" Saitama seemed put off.
Good.
"Yeah, well, there is more, but I don't really see you needing this considering your strengths and lack of weaknesses." I pushed.
"Yeah, I didn't really want to come for a sales pitch. I'll pass. Genos, you do it." Saitama said off-handedly.
"No, I don't really need it, as I do not seek the art of self-defense, rather, what I want is absolute destructive power." Genos responded.
No wonder he wanted to be Saitama's student then.
"You punks! You dare mock the fist of flowing water crushing rock!?" Charanko, who I had now realized was actually here for once, yelled.
"Shut it Charanko! You mock the fighting style by even being here!" I growled.
"Is he the only one other than you Fukui?" Genos asked.
Bang seemed offended that they didn't really ask him any questions.
"Well, there used to be a ton, but one of the students, Garou, went nuts and nearly killed all the strong guys including me, and the others quit from fear and injuries." I explained.
"Then why are you two still here?" Genos asked again.
"Charanko was out at the time, and I am not a coward so I stayed. In fact, Charanko is out a lot of the time trying to show off a style he barely knows!" I redirected my anger onto him.
I wasn't actually angry, just frustrated that Charanko doesn't do anything significant.
"Settle down, Fukui." Bang stopped me.
"Charanko works very hard, but it's difficult without a sparring partner at his level." Bang continued.
My face turned grumpy as I turned away like a child who had just gotten a toy taken away.
"Silverfang!" An exhausted man in a business suit appeared at the door.
Or the bottom half of it.
It seems he couldn't quite handle all the stairs.
"An emergency summons has been issued to all Class S heroes! Please come to headquarters! Genos? Since all Class S heroes have been summoned, please come too." The man spoke politely but sporadically.
Me and Saitama were Class B, but we were both easily strong enough for Class S so both Bang and Genos brought both of us with them.
"Saitama, are we going?" I asked him just to be sure.
"Definitely."
That checks out, he is a hero when he needs to-
"Because I am bored."
Sometimes he is...

A/N: Who is ready for Boros??????
I am just kidding, that is still going to left to Saitama. I am going to have Fukui play a similar role to TTM and Tatsumaki. Maybe helping with Melzelgard. So, it will not be as good as the Deep Sea King is what I mean.
Also, I am really going to reinforce the dragon persona, so the hero name will be based off that as well.
