Feng Hei Lang blinked a few times, making sure she wasn't mis-seeing things. She quickly ducked around the canopy. The old fox had vanished, as if she was never there in the first place.
She looked down at the small mirror left in her hand. 'Who was Emo Hei An? And what does this mirror do?" She quickly used [Appraisal].
[Black Jade Mirror]
[????????]
Feng Hei Lang sighed. "Of course it doesn't work. It didn't work on that old fox here." She examined the front and back of the mirror, finding nothing strange. It was simply a mirror with an outer frame of black jade. She placed it into her inventory. 'I'll keep it away for now...better head back to see how Kang Lei and Kirei are doing.'
As she walked out of the canopy and turned around, it was suddenly gone. Feng Hei Lang paused and walked back. There was nothing in the tucked away in the corner. The canopy had vanished and none of the foxes around her noticed.
She frowned. 'That was certainly strange. I'll come back here later. I should first meet up with Kirei and Kang Lei.'
Feng Hei Lang quickly ran back towards where they first split up. Kang Lei was already there, waiting. He waved when he saw her. "Hey Feng Hei Lang! Look what I found!" He held out a small pen.
She tilted her head. "A pen?"
He smirked. "Not only a pen. When I press this button, a tranquilizer dart shoots out and cancels the fox's stealth ability while making them fall asleep!"
Feng Hei Lang examined it. "Seems like a pretty good item for the upcoming tournament. You sure you didn't spend all your tallies on it?"
Kang Lei let out a shaky laugh. "I may have 10 tallies left?" He looked up at Feng Hei Lang. "You would treat me to a meal, wouldn't you?"
She shook her head. "Nope, no way. I don't have enough tallies to feed another fox. Go ask Kirei if you really want some."
A voice came from behind her. "Ask me what?"
Feng Hei Lang waved. "Hey Kirei. Kang Lei has something to ask you."
Kirei turned to him. "What?"
Kang Lei stiffly said. "Treat me to a meal."
Kirei scoffed. "What did you say?"
Kang Lei blushed in embarrassment. "PLEASE TREAT ME TO A MEAL."
The foxes around him all stared at him with bewilderment.
Kirei shrugged and shook his head. "Nope, you should have sticked to buying something cheaper. Didn't you say you didn't need my tallies earlier?"
Feng Hei Lang let out a small giggle and Kang Lei sighed.
"It was worth it! I bet they're going to give out tallies to whoever wins this tournament!"
Kirei smiled. "You think you're going to win? Very funny. Anyways, Feng Hei Lang, want to go grab some food at the cafeteria?"
She smiled. "Thanks, but I'll come along later. And if you will, spare Kang Lei from his agony."
He smirked. "Maybe."
With that, both of them left. Feng Hei Lang had purposely stayed behind because she wanted to test some things. 'Last time when I was in Fengli city, I tried a bit of human flesh...The results were huge! It's been a while since I tried fox...And that was for a quest. If I did it willingly, then what would the results be?'
She quietly creeped out of the auction, not drawing any attention towards herself. Feng Hei Lang walked along the campus, looking for any unsuspecting fox near an area with little foxes around. 'I'm just going to knock them out and take a small sip of their blood and flesh. If it works out well, I can just keep doing that instead of buying food. I can also prevent any suspicion by using [Lesser Healing]!'
Feng Hei Lang spotted a fox by the side. There was no one around. She switched to fox form and used [Camouflage] and [Presence Concealment] before walking behind them. With a hard hit to the head, they only had time for their eyes to widen before collapsing.
She quickly glanced around, but saw no one. However, there was nowhere to hide to place the unconscious fox. Feng Hei Lang quickly pulled Xing out of her shadow. He was still in cat form. 'Mommy?'
She turned to Xing. "Stay here for a moment. I'll be right back." Feng Hei Lang quickly entered her shadow along with the fox. She quickly dragged him in, then closed the entrance.
They were now in a dark area that seemed like it was enclosed. Her [Night Vision] came into view as she looked at the fox in front of her. Pulling out her daggers from her inventory, she made a small slice against their leg.
Blood starting spilling out as Feng Hei Lang watched while swallowing her hunger. It tempted her greatly. She took a few licks, noticing that the blood was sweeter while it also made her less hungry.
She then cut off a few thin slices of the fox's flesh, eating them quickly. It was satisfying her hunger quite quickly.
Feng Hei Lang noticed that her health was rising significantly and so was her spiritual energy. 'Huh...My health went all the way to 3000 just from a little bit. No wonder that demon foxes liked it so much. My spiritual energy also went to 1500!'
She continued lapping at the blood, taking in the sweet flavor for quite a while, lost in the taste. It wasn't till she noticed that the fox was turning pale, when she saw that she forgot to heal it. 'Oops, I better do that soon, before it dies off.'
Feng Hei Lang quickly started using [Lesser Healing]. About five minutes later, the fox was fully healed. She exited her shadow, taking the fox with her. 'This way, I don't have to buy food while I get a boost in stats! I better start doing this often.'
