Brione tilted her head up to look at the man's face but the bright rays of the sun were hitting her face creating a hindrance.
"Oh thank you for helping me… You can put me down. I think I'm good enough to walk on my own," she commented with a smile. There was no one else running in the area when she came out but she concluded that the man could be behind her and she just did not notice it.
"Hello?" she murmured since there was no response. She also slightly moved, letting the man know that she wanted him to put her down.
"Stay still. We are almost near the bench," Brione heard the familiar voice. She gulped because she would never forget that voice. It's the voice that actually made her heart pound crazily last night.
'OMG!' she panicked, realizing it was that pervert Prince once again. She did not know how he looked since he had worn a mask last night.
"Put me down please," she repeated.
"Don't be stubborn. We're almost there…" she heard his authoritative tone, making her swallow her complaints.
Finally, they were under the trees so she was able to get a view of his face. She tilted her head again to look at him. He had a sharp jaw, red lips...
She gasped in shock. Her heart almost stopped beating as her eyes widened and lips parted...
She stared at him without blinking as tears started rolling down her eyes.
Cedric frowned when he looked at Brione's knee wounded. He clenched his teeth. He did not like seeing her get hurt like this and he more so hated seeing her cry.
He gently put Brione on the bench. He kneeled down to check her leg instead.
"Tell me where it is aching…" he asked with a worried tone, thinking Brione was crying because it hurt too much.
Brione blinked her eyes several times ignoring what the man just said, wondering if she was daydreaming. That face, it was definitely Gavin! The hair color was the only difference but nonetheless, he was Gavin…
The man raised his head and their eyes locked.
Brione could feel her heart beating erratically this time. The perfectly shaped dark-brown eyebrows combined with those deep-set amber eyes were all the same as Gavin.
"Gavin…" she unconsciously gasped, as she continued crying. She felt so overwhelmed that she leaned down and hugged him tightly.
"Oh my God! I knew it… You are definitely alive. I knew it… Oh God. I missed you so much!" she said while sobbing hard. Nothing else mattered to her right now. She did not care whether she was hallucinating or not.
In her eyes, he was Gavin so she could no longer contain the emotions hidden inside her. She hugged him tightly, afraid that she would lose him if she let go.
"I'm sorry… I promise I won't make the same mistake again. Please don't leave me. Let's start over again. I know I'm wrong for saying that our friendship is what matters the most. I'm really wrong Gavin.
I want you back and this time we'll do things the way you want them to be. I will take that risk together with you just please don't ever leave me again…" Brione said in a single breath, stuttering in between as she clung tightly to his neck.
"I love you so much, Gavin. Please stay with me and don't you dare leave me again!" she pleaded, still sobbing hard.
Cedric's face turned dark after hearing Brione's desperate words. She was begging and was acting so out of herself thinking he was the man named Gavin. He was annoyed seeing her act like this because of another man but at the same time, he was worried about what was happening to her and why she reacted like this as soon as she saw his face properly.
Why would Brione mistake him for that Gavin? 'Do I look like that man?'
He probably missed something while checking her profile. Maybe because he was too focussed and engrossed in knowing more about Brione that he did not bother to check about the people around her.
At that time he just wanted to know simple stuff about her like her favorite things and if she was still single and was not in any relationship. There were probably some suitors but Brione did not entertain them at all.
He let out a long breath, expelling the negativity building up inside of him. He never felt such a constricted feeling in his entire life. He was in pain and was deeply offended by Brione's loving eyes which were looking at him but were chanting another man's name.
If Will were to see him at that moment, that bastard would definitely not spare a single minute in teasing him for falling in love with a woman he barely knew.
He himself could not understand his strong feeling and attachment to Brione even though he only saw her once in person. The second time he saw her was last night followed by this morning when he accidentally saw her running outside from his balcony.
He was already done with his run but he went down again to follow Brione like a stalker.
"Please… I don't want to wake up even if all of this is only a dream, Gavin… Please stay and don't leave me again…"
Hearing Brione's broken voice pleading him over and over again, Cedric silently cursed knowing it was because of that man Gavin.
Brione was pleading and begging the wrong man to stay with her and not leave her. She confessed 'I love you' to the wrong man because the man she was confessing to was not Gavin! How nice would it be if she was saying those words directly to him!!!
Then he recalled that he watched an exclusive interview of Brione a few months ago where Brione confessed about her first love who was also her childhood friend…
But according to his report, that man was already dead so he did not bother to look into it nor check the man's profile with a respect for the dead as well.
What mattered to him was that he would not have to step on anyone to pursue Brione.
