Hayashi Sakura did her very best to avoid Mori Ken at all cost since all the other girls who have their eyes on him start to mess with her supposed-to-be peaceful college life. However…
"A very special guest will soon arrive here not later than seven in the evening. I want you to be his maid for the entire week," Sakura's boss, Ms. Cookie, instructs her as soon as she arrives at work from her school. The maid cafe closes at exactly nine in the evening.
Sakura can't help but be curious about this special guest that her boss is now telling to her, hence she decides to ask about this person she is supposed to entertain for the entire week. But because she ranked first in the rankings, Sakura could use her leave as many times as she pleases.
"May I know who this very special guest I am supposed to cater to?"
Ms. Cookie, on the other hand, smiles at her knowingly and answers her question, "It's actually my nephew… Mori Ken."
As soon as she heard the name, Sakura's eyes instantly widened in shock. She didn't even know that Ms. Cookie has a family member who visits this cafe! And it's Mori Ken among all the people in this world!
What a small world indeed.
"Why? Is there… something wrong with my request?" Ms. Cookie seems to notice the reluctance in this girl's eyes, and then she added, "I am not asking you this because he is a relative of mine alone but also because he actually acquired a quite impressive amount of points that he hasn't used for the past few months."
Sakura then tries to regain her composure in front of her boss as she notices a hint of suspicion in those pair of chocolate brown eyes of hers. She had figured out sooner that her sudden reaction earlier would come out weird for Ms. Cookie, considering that she doesn't have any idea that she and I had known each other.
So with a determined tone and a sweet smile on her lips, or at least she tries to make it convincing, she replies, "Of course Ms. Cookie, I would be willing to entertain a certain special guest of this cafe."
Setting aside her worries for now, Sakura knows that she needs to adhere to her boss's personal request rather than mind her own personal affairs.
And as if on cue, Mori Ken's figure soon appears in their cafe as soon as the clock strikes seven. Sakura's lips parted. Talk about great timing!
Ms. Cookie now looks at Sakura with expectation in her eyes. And so without further adieu, Hayashi Sakura walks towards the guest in haste with the menu in hand, leaving her poor co-worker Cupcake in frustration for taking her usual guest away from her.
"Why has she had to steal my precious guest away from me?" is what Sakura heard from Cupcake as she happens to pass by. Shaking her head disapprovingly, she only ignored it and continued walking towards her main target for today.
Plastering her sweetest smile across his face, she says to the guy "Welcome, master Ken! How did your day go so far?"
Being polite as ever, Mori Ken faced the newly-hired maid in front of her and flashed a reluctant smile on his lips. Her aunt Cookie was really serious about her plan of making this girl as his maid for the whole week!
"It has been great, so far."
"That's great to hear," Sakura cheerfully says, clapping her hands together for the added effect. "To make your day even better, I will be your maid for the rest of the week. Allow me to lead you to your seat and take your order as well afterward."
Mori Ken shrugs and says, "Yeah, sure."
Sakura then leads him to his seat, which is the couch area where they all place their most special guests who earned the highest points for the certain year. Ms. Cookie is in charge of tabulating those points every day.
As Ken is being led to his seat, he can't help but sneak glances at this newly-hired maid walking beside him. He is having this nostalgic feeling every time he is near her, though he is really not sure what causes it in the first place.
Suddenly, he felt the urge to pull off that mask that conceals her face and wanted to know her more. But sadly, he knows for himself that would be against the cafe's policies and his aunt would be so furious at him if ever he does that.
Ken snaps back to reality when he hears the sweet voice of the girl once more.
"Here we are, master! Make yourself comfortable."
Still regaining his consciousness, he responds, "Oh, okay." and sits down in haste.
The maid soon gives him the menu and pulls out a mini notepad and a pen out of her mini pocket and looks at him once more.
"So, what can I get for you, master?"
Ken already knows what he wants to order whenever he enters the cafe, and that is his favorite cinnamon cake paired with his fave strawberry parfait. But right now, he seems distracted and because of that, he picks up the menu that the girl placed on the table and reads the contents.
"Err… I want this om-nom nomurice and a pika-pika strawberry parfait, please. And oh, I want to have my name on it with the ketchup sauce please." Ken flashes his grin which, for Sakura, is so bright to look at, making her squint her eyes for a while as she wrote down his order.
"One om-nom nomurice and pika-pika strawberry parfait coming right up!" Sakura soon leaves Ken's sight for a while as she dashed straight for the kitchen.
On the other hand, Ken somehow finds it amusing how the maid seems to be reluctant to see him while he observes her keenly… as if they have already met before all of this.
