"What do you mean he survived making a 200 metres cravise?" Mullin held the second Runner by the shoulder and asked. This made the young man shake in his boots and soaked in sweat.
"That's... That's just it. I don't know how he did it, but he is certainly still alive." the man was scared stiff by Mullins intended gazes. Yet, he still had to answer.
Mullin turned to Ander them nodded. After that they came to the west wall faster than even the fastest Runner the wall has. Hearing the same thing by those on this side of the wall, even for old monsters like them it was very bizarre.
...
Ben's trail killed a lot of people on his way, both friends and for. When he finally came to a stop his whole body was aching. Because Spellcasters and Elemental Swordsmen could use the elements around them, their body is strengthened and enhanced more than that of a normie.
An Elemental Swordsman can sprint forward more than 5 miles without stop. And a Spellcaster can withstand a Lightning Strike spell or Flame Burst if they are stronger. But in Ben's case, let's say, for him he only has an edge above others. But, even with all the enhancement in the world's elements or his Universal Plane it doesn't mean Ben can't be bulldozed to death like now.
With the power of his Universal Plane and healing spell Ben's broken bones and torn muscles were fixed again in no time.
The Hellhound's roar of dominance got cut short when it saw some movements at the very end of the very long cravise. It got even angrier when it saw Ben killing even more lesser demons. Maddened. It was maddened that it couldn't crush the little cockroach between us giant paws.
The demonic Hellhound gave chase as it became ever more determined to squash Ben and spray his blood all over its thick brown fur.
Ben was firing Fire spells on his enemies while dismembering them with his great sword. Unfortunately, Ben realized that his sword was dealing more damage than his spells. He later found out that the Fire element was just beginning to wane in the air. He didn't have to show all his abilities so he switched to the Wind element. If anyone was to see him use both Fire and Ice elements things wouldn't be the same again.
Instead on wasting unnecessary Magic power and Mindpower he focused mainly on cutting them down but he still had to watch out for the Hellhound, and guess what? The darn thing has range attacks.
It's thick brown fur could be shot out like bullets. If it wasn't for Lucy's functions and the Hellhound being partially restricted from killing too many of its allies, Ben would have been riddled with holes... well, a lot more holes than he already has.
His first Light magic he ever learned, Heal, was used on himself, but the spikes had some kind of anti-healing properties on them, preventing them from healing any faster even with his unique body.
The three demon generals that was overseeing this operation was reading over the report that recently came in, it certainly wasn't good news, not like the one just came not long ago. Actually, the generals were quite stunned when they heard a human survived the full brunt of one of their Hellhounds.
"First a girl, now this boy. Tecluh, what do you think about them?" the highest general, Bloodbath, asked her second-in-command. It was the hulk with batwings.
"If one of our hounds can't handle it, let's free one more." the winged hulk, Tecluh's deep voice not only reverberated in the tent it literally vibrated the entire tent.
"Well then, let's get this on the road, boys." Bloodbath's melodious choir voice could be heard when spoken.
Even though her sing-song voice was a sing-song, no one took that voice for joke. No one even stayed to admire the voice. Every lieutenant scrambled out of the tent to do her bidding in the quickest way possible. And within twenty-something minutes another Hellhound was released into the party.
The Hellhounds were at the very top of the hill where two very large tents was set. One for housing the hounds while the second was where the generals and commanders of the enemy armies stood. This allowed everyone on both side to witness the release of another Hellhound. This made the hearts of the human side to fall.
Ben was starting to get numb from swinging his sword one too many times. Right before he could take a breather a very disturbing news came from Lucy, it was the release of another Hellhound. Ben was distrust.
Worse yet, from Lucy's report the Hellhound was heading straight towards him. He could just imagine how pissed the enemy must have been, and from the looks of it they certainly didn't have only these numbers of Hellhounds, there could be more.
From the enemy's point of view, Ben figured that sending the Hellhound to Mia was useless since it seems she was fighting a losing battle with the first Hellhound and couldn't spare another glance at their minions. Meanwhile, sending it towards the gate wouldn't be too necessary since it was about to go down anyways. But with someone like Ben who kept targeting their minions who are meant to do more damage once they are inside the wall. He was a bigger threat to their great plan and mission!
Finding the inheritor of the Badlands!
If only they knew...
Ben was beginning to feel dispirited by the appearance of another Hellhound targeting him, but that quickly became pride. Pride that he alone made such a great army release two of their arsenals. Not even that proud Knight has achieved this. So he thought. With this pride he felt, he became confident to kill one Hellhound before the other takes him down.
'Ben, every being in this world is attuned to a certain elemental affinity. Even Spellcasters who are known for having multiple elements. I suggest using your Universal Plane to sense what elemental affinity these enemies are attuned to."
Ben heard this in-between a slash and stab he asked. "Really, I can do that?" he paused for a moment, he cost his eyes with Mindpower and looked around him, "I don't see shit!" Ben shouted immediately dodging a giant rock sent his way.
'According to the data I have collected, it says that only those at the level of mage or highly talented Unspokens of the Third class could achieve sensing the elemental attributes of man or beast.'
"Then that leaves me with sensing the attributes they give off when attacking."
'Yes.'
"Awesom..."
*BANG*
Because of that little distraction the Hellhound sent him crashing again into the earth, but Ben was a lot more prepared this time and only made a hundred metres cravise.
Those on the wall grimace when they saw another cravise getting formed by the same man that did the first. What shocked then more was that it was made with a man's body.
"... Uhm, Lucy, why is this information useful now?" Ben groaned while climbing out of the pit. This further enraged the Hellhound. "The other Hellhound is still 4 or 5 miles from here. The city walls is about to be breached. So yeah, why do I need this info, Lucy?" Ben said as he stood there waiting for the Hellhound to teach him.
'I have deduced what elemental affinity our companions have with a sample that permeated into your body through your wound. Due to its corrosive and silent nature, with the negative particles of contracting each other rather than combining. I believe that the Darkness-type element is being used.' although lengthy it was useful to Ben.
"What does this mean exactly? I got hurt, so? But thanks for going through all that hustle to know what element this is. I have never seen the Darkness-type element being used in such a manner."
'That is because they aren't manipulating the element like humans, elf or other species. They are the embodiment of Darkness. Darkness-type creatures.'
"Embodiment of Darkness?"
'Ben, you can use this opportunity to assimilate the structure of your seventh and last element, the Darkness-type element.'
"Why didn't you just say so earlier? I don't know how I'll be able to concentrate when I'm battle but we'll think of something. But first, let's go beat a mad dog."
