Chương 142: A Man Trying To Live A Normal Life

"You dare!" Captain Alan roasted and charged at Ben with his sword drawn.

Ben didn't move but put his hands behind his back. Just when Alan was two metres away from him a huge gust of wind slowed his momentum. His speed that was almost invisible to the normal eye was slowed to a halt. Veins could be seen popping out of his forehead as he struggled to take another step forward.. Like a rag doll he was flung into the air. Alan's breath was ragged, he could hear the sound of his heartbeat followed by some brisk footsteps coming his way.

"Do I dare? Yes, I do. Do you have any problem with that?" Ben bent down and asked Alan who was still on the floor.

Alan glared at Ben but didn't attach, he knows for one that indeed this 'Ben' was stronger than him. "No sir."

"I need every fit person to look for any person still alive and bring them to me. Everyone go." They didn't linger long and immediately move to do as they were told. Some arrogant professionals were among the few, but seeing what happened to the strongest of their team they were forced to comply. Luckily they were about twenty of them so it was easy.

Ben proceeded to sit on the ground with his legs folded and eyes closed. His idea was to heal those with severe life threatening injuries and then assign someone to take them to safety. Forty minutes of digging and searching they brought more than fifty people with the severely injured closest to Ben.

This would be the first time Ben would be casting his Healing spell in such a scale. And even though he prepared for the little forty minutes he had he still had to crush two white Elemental crystals and absorb their energy to continue.

"Vivi, I trust these people to you, you have to be strong for them, for yourself, for Stephan." Ben cast a Charm spell on Vivi like the one he casted on Brewer to calm his mind. 'Lucy, can you triangulate their location?' Ben asked Lucy in his head.

'A huge disturbance in magic power is found more than 9,000km East.' answered Lucy.

'Isn't that the direction to the Wall?' Ben pondered.

'Yes, it is.'

'How many?' Ben wasn't having a good feeling about this to ask this question.

'Counting... They are innumerable from this distance, Ben.'

The only time Lucy ever gave such a response was during his expenditure with his Hunter squad into the Badlands. He took a look at all these warriors, Elemental Swordsmen and Entrance-level Spellcasters that came from the powerful families and clans, but compared to the unknown number of enemy outside their little army, they look like garbage.

"Listen to me everyone! There is an army of hundreds or even thousands matching right outside our doorstep. They have caused this, the death of our family and loved ones, why? We don't know, in fact we don't care. You know why? Because we are going to kill these sons of bitches! Take arm." with a flick of his sleeves swords of all shape, type and size fell to the floor out of thin air. He still have out a specific number though.

All the Swordsmen, Elemental or not went forward to pick up a sword or weapon of their choice and inspected it so they could have a good feel of it. While they were looking over the sword a few couldn't help but find a very distinct insignia they all very knew. It was the insignia of the Divine Smith, Ebuka. Those quite enough to see this couldn't help but throw a glance at Ben.

"My honour is my life!" all the Elemental Swordsmen and women chanted the warriors code before rushing out to battle.

People that were running for their lives were coming from the opposite direction a group of professionals were heading. They were heading where a giant army of... people coming from the north. The cities defence line and military were ringing the evacuation and battle mode bells. This was the summon of every militant, Hunter, mercenary and experienced fighters to the city walls. Ben's group of 50 rushed to the city wall as quickly as possible.

The sounds of battle going on even from miles away was heard. With the buff they had in strength and stamina compared to normies, it would still take them about ten minutes to arrive at the wall. By then many things might have happened.

Ben looked around, their speed would not be able to make them teach early enough. He decided to cast as wide area spell, Windtrack. This is a spell that boosts the speed of the career/target, however, there's also a downside.

The larger the size, target or quantity, the power of the door greatly reduces. But that wasn't a problem to Ben, even though the effect of the spell was reduced than how it's original strength was, it couldn't be compared with normal spells.

Because of Ben their ten minutes run for shortened to six. If it were any other Spellcaster with this much people the duration might be reduced to only a few seconds at most.

"If you aren't a warrior or Elemental Swordsman get the out of my sight. This isn't a place to take a field trip." a man class in gray armour barked out orders when he saw Ben's group coming from a distance. He was known as a Knight.

At first he was relieved when he saw more people coming to help from a distance, but on a closer look he was disappointed seeing the little number that came. The worse part of it was the young man that tagged along. They might be considered adults but they are largely inexperienced in war.

That wasn't the least of his problems, he got angrier when he saw someone that didn't even look older than 20, that would have been okay since it showed his passion to save the city but then the young man wasn't even seemed at all.

"I believe anyone willing enough to protect the city can take arm."when they arrived Ben walked up to the Knight.

"Oh, and what arm do you speak of?"the Knight asked. Ben merely stretched out his hand and conjured a formal before closing his hands again, extinguishing the flame. "Then why didn't you wear your robe? It would have been earlier to identify you."the Knight however, seemed unfazed that Ben was a Spellcaster. He must have seen quite a few.

"Nah,I like my suit the way it is. What's the situation here?" Ben shrugged it off and asked.

"From your energy I can tell you are merely an Unspoken of the First class and one or two of your elements are now Second-level spells. So what makes you think you can question a Knight of the Second class." the Knight totally disregarded Ben's identity as a Spellcaster and unleashed his aura as a Knight.

Red and cyan coloured energy particles hovered around the Knight as he tried to suppress Ben. In the end however, he ended up having all those around him in a ten metre radius fall face first to the earth. Yet been stood, in fact he stood relaxingly actually. What even tipped the Knight even more was the smile on Ben's face. Ben was living the benefits he keeps getting from having his Universal Plane.

"Who are you?" hastily retracting his aura, since s few weaker men were now out cold.

"Now that you ask, I'll tell you... I'm just a man trying to live a normal life, but I'll make those who destroy that chance pay with their very own lives." Ben spun around and like magic he changed from his luxurious suit to a jet black long coat. He then went towards the edge of the wall to over see the battle happening below.
