"You're A Chosen?!"
This was the biggest question all four of them had asking. Despite their excitement some were in doubt, it didn't seem right for a Chosen to be able to walk in these woods without dying, yes dying.
Many fierce beasts, demon creatures were in the woods ready to devour every single thing they deem lunch. It didn't matter if you had a whole squad with you, your appearance should tell others how fierce you must have fought to keep your life. But looking at the young man before then, it doesn't even look like he's stepped into the forest yet, much less fought to keep his life.
"You all need to treat those injuries before they get anymore infected." Ben said then stepped forward.
"Stay right there!" Norman shouted and unleashed his aura as a Second-level Spellcaster onto Ben.
Ben knew they were cautious, but isn't this overkill? If Ben was any other Chosen who wasn't strengthened by anything he would have dropped to the ground, maybe even ending up unconscious. Ben didn't have to do any of that, neither did he have to counter the aura, he had felt way more powerful sure than that of a Second-level Spellcaster so one of this caliber didn't move him.
"This is proof of being a Chosen of The Phantom Magic Institutes." Ben held out his hand to show them the ring indicating he is indeed a member of their faction.
"Norman, the Phantom ring. He really is a Chosen." Missy was exhilarated when their doubts was cleared. Without waiting for Norman, she went forward with a smile. "Please, follow us. We will take you to the school where it will be safe. I'm sure you must have heard what the Fordox can do."
"You are one of the luckiest to make it this far. Pele, go search around make sure everywhere is clear." Norman gave the command to the macho at the back.
The macho cast a spell to manipulate the air turning it into a gale, this type of magic enhances the speed of the caster multiple times. Ten minutes later the macho returned saying all was clear. The group was down and wasn't able to continue their journey so they decided to rest for some time.
"Earlier, you said I was putting myself at risk when I cast my spell to intimidate you and that you said I could barely walk, what did you mean by that?" Norman sat by a tree to support his body. Everyone was nearby and heard the question, they all tried to listen to what Ben would have to say.
"I saw when you guys were chased by some HW..."
"HW, we weren't chased by some HW?" Gail, the second girl in the group questioned.
"...oh, hobo wizards, that's what I call them," his words made them laugh a little. "I knew since you couldn't cast anymore spells, you must be well spent, that was why I stepped in. I figured since we're from the same Institute we should help each other..."
"Whoa, whoa, whoa! You said you stepped in, how?" Pele nearly shouted at the top of his lungs.
"Uh, I attracted their attention from you guys, killed the fucking spider... I hate spiders. And then I killed the hobo wizards from Fordox."
Four mouths were opened in a big '0', trying hard to believe what Ben said to be true. No matter how they look at it, they can't seem to believe it. Isn't this guy A Chosen? Since when did Chosens get the power to rain down a dozen fireballs? Who is this guy? Many questions, yet no answer.
"I don't believe a Chosen has the power to do what I saw back there, so you can cut the bullshit." Pele bellowed angrily.
"Sorry if that's not what you expected, but like I was saying, yes, I was the one who helped you guys. I may be a Chosen but I am also a Second-level Elemental Swordsman..." Ben said. "...and that damn spider destroyed my sword. I can't use it anymore." he said almost whining about it. The way Ben changed his expression was not helping matters, as they looked at him like he was delusional.
"An Elemental Swordsman?" Missy asked. Pele kept looking at Ben as though he was lying straight to their faces and was shameless about it.
"I've heard that there are Elemental Swordsmen that are able to have Spellcaster's quality, but I've never seen them. Nevertheless, a Second-level Elemental Swordsman can not possibly win against an Entrance-level Spellcaster, so I don't think that's the case." Norman stated as a matter of fact. "Still, I want to say thank you for saving our lives."
"Well since I am nice guy, and since I'm a nice guy in the midst of some fine ladies who are from the same school I'll give this to you guys to heal your wounds." Ben brought out four Consumable Lotions from his storage pouch and handed it to them.
Pele's eyes twitched when he heard Ben's words, his sister was with them and this hotshot with a glib tongue was saying some sweet words to her, he just couldn't take it. On the other hand the girls eyes fluttered upon Ben's words... What did you expect from those killer eyes and devilishly sweet smile?
"You must have become a mercenary to own one of those." said Norman.
Ben sighed when he heard the word 'mercenaries', it reminded him of a certain someone. "No, I'm a Hunter."
"Oh, okay, What is this?" Norman asked.
"This will help hasten your recovery, because as it seems to me you guys don't have any. Here..." Ben came towards Norman with a bottle, opening the lid he applied some on an open wound that all could see.
Norman began to groan in pain because the process of repairing torn tissue was excruciating.
"What did you do!?"
"Norman!"
"What's happening to him?"
"Oops, I forgot to tell him it will hurt a little." Ben whispered however his words were still heard over the groaning.
Pele immediately grabbed Ben by the collar but he missed. He went for another grab but this time he cast the same Wind-type spell to increase his speed. Yet, time and time again he failed to grab Ben.
"Hah... Hah... Pele... Pele!" Norman's voice came from where he lay before sitting up straight again. "... Stop."
Ben who have been evading Pele's hold came up to Norman with an apologetic smile. "Sorry about that, I should have told you it'll hurt."
"But you didn't want to." Norman gave a bitter laugh, and Ben followed.
"Norman, your thigh!" Missy exclaimed looking at where the wound on his thigh used to be. There wasn't even a scar.
"""How...?""" Norman, Pele and Gail spontaneously said amongst shouting it out.
"What is that?" Missy asked very intrigued by the potion in Ben's hands.
"I call it the Consumable Lotion. It helps to hasten injury recovery.
"How much is it?" Norman immediately asked.
"Excuse me?" Ben got confused by his question.
"I want to buy these lotions from you, so what's your price?"
"Sorry, but I'm don't sell them. I can give them to you for free though." Ben handed the remaining bottle over to Norman, when he wanted to pass the rest to the others he turned to Norman saying, "You can drink it to but that hurts even more but works way faster, if you dilute it it won't hurt as much but it will take a little longer to heal your wounds." with that he gave the rest each a bottle.
The group exchanged glances before looking at the bottle of green goo in their hands. Norman opened the lid and downed the whole thing at once. His body fell to the ground spasming and convulsing uncontrollably, however, all his injuries where healing at an astonishing rate, with the only exception of his missing limb.
The rest were astonished at the fast process of how the injuries were mending. After Norman was Missy, but unlike Norman she mixed hers in her body lotion to ease the pain, both girls did that. Although the pain was there it was manageable. Lastly, when Norman was able to stand although with a pale face Pele downed his bottle and just like Norman he felt an excruciating pain, fell to the floor and spasmed.
It was almost sunset yet they continued on to their destination. In the woods Ben walked in the midst of the four with Flamion by his side. They were told to not talk since it wasn't safe yet to stay out till late.
"In an hour we'll be reaching our destination." Norman announced. Do all leaders do that? Always announcing when they'll be arriving to their destination. Ben asked himself.
"How are you doing that?" Gail voiced what had been bothering her for the past two hours they've been walking.
"What is it, Sis?" Pele asked.
"Ben isn't making any noise." said Gail.
"Gail, no one is making any noise, silly." Missy said ahead.
"It's a movement technique, a family heirloom." Ben answered the question. It's not like he purposely activates the Forest Parade, it's just that wherever he is in the forest he automatically walks in that stance, to make noise in the forest Ben would have to concentrate to do that, opposite of what others do when they are in the forest. That was his level of mastery in the movement technique, it is like he has truly become one with the forest.
Hearing this they all turned to look at Ben's legs and found out that he really didn't make any sound while stepping on leaves and twigs.
"That is becoming uncomfortable, you know?" Ben voiced when the four didn't take their eyes off his legs as he moved.
"*Gasp* Did... did you teach your mount that technique too?" Missy asked realizing that even his mount was making as little noise as the wind could carry.
"Haha, yeah, kind of. I did it out of boredom." Ben smiled awkwardly scratching the back of his head.
Both Pele and Gail looked at each other before smiling warily. They're family has a heirloom too, it was what allowed them to be so good with the Wind-type spells and able to manipulate it better than others. Yet, they have no idea how they can be able to pass such method to another person much less an animal.
