Chương 40: Chapter 40: I Forgive You

On the other hand, Gu YuChen was left in the living room with a baffled look on his face. Su Ning appeared annoyed as she slammed the door to her bedroom. But in fact Gu YuChen was merely stating his observations. Su Ning has been playing Rose Wars for nearly a year and Ever Star prior to that; however, her gaming skills remained almost nonexistent. She really didn't improve at all. Yet Gu YuChen quite liked her excitement for playing the games he had created. When Gu YuChen heard that Su Ning had convinced Song Yu to download the game so he could help carry her through the levels, he had almost laughed out loud. 'She's truly too silly.' Gu YuChen thought affectionately.

Looking at her closed bedroom door, Gu YuChen cannot help but be reminded that he would be flying out in a few days. He had already postponed his departure for several months. Originally intending to leave soon after his graduation from M Academy; it has been nearly 8 months since then. To the public eye, Grandma Gu had been tenuous keeping their faction consolidated whilst her grandson had been working on building up Sun Fox.

Of course, this has all been a ruse to make it appear that Gu YuChen had given up his interest in Gu Co Ltd amidst all the 'accidents' that had occured. Gu Co Ltd is a multinational technology company specializing in e-commerce, retail, Internet, and technology. Sun Fox is in a completely different industry and is but a fledgling compared to the behemoth that is Gu Co Ltd. Perhaps it is also because Gu Han feels a tiny sliver of paternal love for his son that he didn't bother to double down his efforts to finish the deed and eliminate Gu YuChen completely. The truth will likely never be known.

Gu YuChen is aware he quickly needs to build up his strength in order to reclaim what is rightfully his and protect what he most treasures. To accomplish what he set out to do, he would have to leave C Country for 5 years, 4 in the least. He is not completely impervious to Grandma Gu's grief either as the latter feels much sympathy for her young grandson Gu Yu. Gu YuChen also does not feel any ill will towards his 1 year old half brother yet it is unlikely the latter would be able to live righteously under the influence of his heinous mother, Song Rui. It would be good if Gu Yu could be saved, whether he could be, remains unknown. After all, Gu Yu is not his priority. With a sigh, Gu YuChen sent a text to Lin JinYan requesting to meet separately before his flight. Upon confirming the latter's positive reply, Gu YuChen strode to Su Ning's room and gave a few soft raps on the door.

"NingNing, are you still angry?" (Gu YuChen)

"Not angry!" (Su Ning)

"Then, I'll be coming in." Gu YuChen stifled a laugh upon hearing Su Ning's petulant tone.

Su Ning lay on her bed while fiddling her phone and once in a while casting surreptitious glances at the teen standing across from her. These glances didnt go unnoticed by Gu YuChen and he covered his quickly upwardly quirked lips with his hand. In a flash, Gu YuChen wore his typical impassive face and took a seat on Su Ning's bed. He reached out to pat Su Ning's head and said in a soothing tone, "NingNing, I am sorry. Ge shouldn't have said you were bad at shooting."

After a few seconds of silence, Su Ning swiftly decided to forgive this facial paralysis brother of hers. She also had to force herself not to laugh recalling that they always had silly little arguments like this which always ended up with one coaxing the other. In the end, they would always make up and it was as if the fight, if you could even call it one, never happened in the first place. Gu YuChen was also cognizant of this.

"It's not that I am bad at shooting. It's that it is difficult to aim." Su Ning explained.

"En, It must be the sensitivity of the phone is too slow so you are taking too long to hit the target." Gu YuChen agreed completely.

"...Ye..Yeah, it's the sensitivity." Su Ning nodded with some uncertainty.

"So, this gege will buy you the newest model so your gaming experience will be more enjoyable." Gu YuChen followed up with a self satisfied smile.

"..." 'Ah?!' (Su Ning)

"Don't reject my present, NingNing. I take the user experience very seriously." (Gu YuChen)

"[Cough] Ahem...Since you know your wrongs, I forgive you." Su Ning said graciously. 'I should stop at this. Otherwise, Gu YuChen might make unreasonable demands on Jun-ge to make updates to the game itself. Ugh.'

"I am glad my NingNing is so forgiving." Gu YuChen said with a smile as he leaned against the pillows on Su Ning's bed.

"Mhmmhmmm…." Su Ning gave a sound of assent followed by a long yawn.

"YuChen-ge, I'm too sleepy from lunch. I think I'll take a nap first." (Su Ning)

Upon seeing that Gu YuChen did not intend to leave, Su Ning just patted beside her as an indication to take a nap together. In response, found a comfortable position and lay on his side facing Su Ning. Gu YuChen watched for several minutes until he could hear the steady rhythm of her breathing before closing his eyes.
