Yup! Here's the new chapter!
________________________________________________________________________________________
Here I was, calmly eating my breakfast, enjoying the peace that was in the castle, and thinking about what classes I'm taking today... And ignoring Anthony who was looking at the older Hufflepuff girls almost drooling.
"Why don't you go talk to them?" Terry asked bored after a while.
"Me?! For them to laugh at me or for me to embarrass me? Thanks, but no" Anthony waved, shaking his head. He then looked at Terry through narrowed eyes, "Why don't you go?" he challenged.
"Meh" he shrugged, "I'm fine staying here in my corner"
"Are you sure? Or is this fear?" I asked, joining the conversation, looking at him with a sneer.
"Scared? Me? Pfff" Terry scoffed, "Since you guys are so confident, why don't we do a bet? Whoever is chosen will have to go there to the...Hufflepuff table! And try to flirt with one of the older girls" he said, looking at both of us in defiance.
"I accept!" Anthony said.
Anthony and Terry then looked at each other and glared at each other with defiance. They then looked at the Hufflepuff table, and then at me.
"Nah, I'd rather stay here and watch you two embarrass yourself," I shrugged lazily.
""Fearful"" they said, and I shrugged again.
"Well, how are we going to do the draw?" Anthony asked right away seeing that I didn't mind his teasing.
"Let's draw with a coin," Terry replied, taking one galleon from his bag.
"Why don't draw in a way that is more skill dependent than luck?" Anthony asked, realizing that a coin was not a very smart way to decide a challenge.
'First time I see him say something smart' I thought in surprise. 'So he really has some intelligence'
"Are you afraid?" Terry started to say, hiding the mischievous smile that threatened to creep across his face, knowing that this would cause a reaction from Anthony.
"Hah! Me, scared? As if," Anthony said, falling into Terry's obvious trap.
'I take back what I said about him having some intelligence' I sighed.
"Okay, so let's draw the coin" Terry began, "I get heads, you get tails"
"Okay, but what if the coin falls in the middle?" Anthony asked.
"If that happens, Ethan will be chosen" Terry replied, getting ready to flip the coin.
"Oh, okay... Wait, what?" Anthony said confused, and then the realization hit him, "That means it's going to be practically impossible for him to be chosen! How will this be fair to us?" he asked with furrowed brows.
"I don't even want to take on this challenge of yours, so does it really matter if I'm less likely to be chosen than you guys?" I asked with a raised eyebrow.
"Alright..." I rolled my eyes at Anthony, "If the coin falls in the middle, not only will I meet the challenge today, I'll also do it for the whole week and in every house" I said, and I could see Terry shrugging as if he didn't care that I had little or no chance of getting drawn.
"But...that...sigh, okay" Anthony sighed.
'I really can't believe he accepted it' I thought shaking my head.
"Okay! So Anthony will be chosen if tails fall, I if heads fall, and Ethan if the coin gets in the middle!" Terry said, preparing the coin.
He then tossed the coin in the air, and the boys' attention went directly to her. The coin then dropped onto the table and began to rotate, stopping slowly.
'Heh, it has a 50% chance of falling heads and 50% of falling tails, and it's practically impossible for the coin to stop in the middle, so that means Anthony or Terry will have to meet the challenge' I thought, not worried at all with the coin, as I knew it was practically impossible for me to be chosen...

'Damn it! What's the possibility?!' I wondered, cursing any god of luck in my head as I walked over to Hufflepuff's table, 'The damn coin only had one job! One! Which was to fall on one side, or the other... But noooo, she had to fall in the middle! In the fucking middle!' I kept cursing.
As I cursed in my mind, it didn't take me long to reach the Hufflepuff table. I then looked over at Ravenclaw's table and saw that Anthony and Terry were giving me thumbs up in encouragement.
I then took a deep breath, and under the puffs' prying eyes I walked over to Susan, and sat down beside her. Ignoring the surprise of some students and Susan herself.
"Ethan!?" Susan exclaimed in surprise.
"Susan!?" I repeated, mimicking the tone of his voice.
"What?"
"What what?"
"Huh?" she looked at me confused, and then shook her head, "What are you doing here?" she whispered.
"having breakfast?" I said slowly with a raised eyebrow.
"I meant in the Hufflepuff table" Susan whispered to me.
"Sitting down," I replied.
"..."
"..."
"Serious?" she said dryly.
"Who would that friend of yours be, Susan?" just then a voice sounded. And looking in the direction of the voice, I saw in the seat across from us a boy who could only be described as 'handsome'. He was tall and strong, with sharp features, dark hair, and gray eyes.
And this boy was none other than the vampire... *cough* the most unlucky wizard in the franchise, Cedric Diggory.
Unlucky because his importance was to die to bring greater weight to the story.
I'm not saying he was irrelevant, but rather that his death was simply meant to add weight to the franchise, and that was one of the only things he brought to the franchise that mattered.
"Oh, Ced... This one is Ethan. A friend and colleague from Ravenclaw" Susan replied. She then turned to me, "And Ethan. This is Cedric Diggory, one of my seniors and one of the Hufflepuff Quidditch team players... Well, he's the reserve seeker, but that still counts as a player" she then reached into my ear and whispered, "My aunt and his dad work in the ministry, and because of that, we've known each other since we were children"
"Ah" I nodded my head. I then looked at Diggory and held my hand out to him, "Nice. I'm Ethan Night, but my friends call me Ethan" I said with a friendly smile.
Cedric then shook my hand, "As you heard from Susan, I'm Cedric Diggory, and my friends call me Cedric or Ced" he said with his own smile.
"Look what we've got here... Two handsome boys shaking hands" one of the older girls said in a flirtatious tone, but obviously joking.
Cedric who received a compliment so blatantly thus began to blush in embarrassment. But I, who was born shameless, lived shameless, and I'm going to die shameless, I couldn't let her escape so easily, mainly because I still had a challenge to do.
"And who is this beautiful lady?" I asked with a charming smile, turning to the older girl.
She had black hair and blue eyes, with a pretty, soft face. She looked like she was in seventh or sixth year.
"Oh, a gentleman I see," she said with a soft smile. She then held out her hand to me, "Paige, Violet Paige"
I then took her hand, turned it palm down, and lightly kissed the back of her hand, never taking my eyes off her face, "Nice to meet you Miss Paige."
And she, who hadn't expected me to greet her so nobly like that, began to stammer out my reply, looking at me in surprise and embarrassment. And I started to smile seeing that, taking a look at the Ravenclaw table and seeing Anthony and Terry looking at me like fish out of water.
And while all of this was going on, the other students at the Hufflepuff table around us began to look at the scene with wide eyes in amusement, with Susan pouting and looking annoyed at Paige.
End.

(End AN: A little interaction with students from another house.
I have a lot of characters that were never explored in the canon, so they're basically a blank canvas for me to paint however I want, so I'm going to enjoy it.
And before you guys ask me, take all the flirting they're having as a joke. They're just having fun, this is not something romantic, okay? They are still young.)
