During dinner at the Carter residence, Charles and Evelyn sat together, while Ethan and Gideon sat with their wives respectively.

Isaac naturally could only sit with Madison.

After taking a seat, Freya looked up at Rebecca emotionally.

They had not seen each other in almost three years. This meant she had not met him in three years either.

Rebecca raised her head and inadvertently saw Freya looking at her, so she smiled back slightly.

Freya smiled back but quickly veered her eyes away.

Gideon was sitting on her left while Isaac sat on her right.

The atmosphere at the dining table felt a little serious.

Freya felt a little stifled, so she exhaled deeply. Even though she did it very softly, the two men beside her caught it.

Gideon simply glanced at her without saying a word.

Isaac smiled and asked, "Freya, are you not used to this atmosphere?"

"It feels a little too serious and stifling."
