It's been two days since the red star appeared in the sky. So for the past two days I have been searching for anything than can give me a clue on what or who hatched these new dragons.
So far my efforts have been pointless,I even contacted the three eyed raven styr through a glass candle,but just like always styr refused to interfere in the worldly matters. At least he gave me a clue,'dragon must have three heads' whatever that means.
My father also used to say this, father thought this meant that he needed three children to fulfill the prophecy,he went as far as naming us Rhaenys,Aegon and Visenya. But as my father later realized that was not it.
I came to the hidden Targaryen vault in Dragonstone,this vault was made by first Targaryens that came to the island of Dragonstone under the guidance of the Dreamer. This was when House Targaryen still had a few stonesingers and valyrian sorcerers left,but without the resources and teachings of old Valyria these last few remaining stonesingers and fire sorcerers died without being able to pass their skills along. But this wasn't that much of a loss,it's not like these people were experts at the top of their fields,these people were mediocre at best. Why else would they choose to move away from old Valyria with our House, it's not like those people were talented or even experienced enough to preserve the magic and skills of old Valyria even after the doom.
At least these people were able to build Dragonstone like a proper Valyrian castle with all of its features like this hidden vault. This vault is made with black stone that can somehow conduct magic,lined with dragonglass and imbued with Valyrian magic and spells. I have seen this black stone a few times now,even the seastone chair of the Ironborn is made from this black stone,But only the Valyrians had the magic and dragonfire to turn this black stone in to Dragonstone a material that is even harder than steel,granite or even diamonds. The dragonstone was used to make the castle of Dragonstone but unlike the castle this vault is made entirely out of Dragonstone and it's walls lined with dragonglass for spells.
This makes this hidden vault only accessable to those with Targaryen blood,but this doesn't mean anyone with just a hint of Targaryen blood can just walk in and open the doors to the vault. The lock is magically tied to House Targaryen so only the head and heir of House Targaryen can open the doors and even then the person needs to know at least a bit of Valyrian magic or they would have to smear their blood on the door every time they want to open the vault. So Rhaenys and I can enter the vaults as the spells consider us both as heirs,I think father would be the head or it might be grandmother I have no idea.
But other than me and Rhaenys no one even knows about the secret vaults,I only know because of a vision I had of the dreamer giving the orders to build the vault in the first place. But the knowledge of the the vault must have been lost,at least till the time the conqueror was alive House Targaryen still knew about the vault because I am seeing a portrait of the conqueror and his two sisters in front of me,so this knowledge was only lost after that.
Before Rhaenys and I opened the vault it only had a few Valyrian books and the portraits of our old ancestors and a little bit of gold, most of this big vault was empty but now it's filled to the brim with all the gold and rare gemstones and other things I brought back from my trip to Valyria. I even brought all the books from the secret library in Valyria that I kept seeing in my visions.
There is an insane amount of wealth in this vault but we keep it here because if we actually brought out this much gold then it will destabilise the entire economy of westros and even affecting Essos. This is just one of the many failsafe and backups I made for the future of my House.
In this vault were the few books on Valyrian magic that Queen Visenya tried to learn magic from,most of her efforts didn't mean much,she probably didn't have the aptitude for magic. It's a shame really that the conqueror was never really interested in the magic,because based of what he did to the iron throne he would have been a great fire magician.
I looked through the vault but nothing gave me any clues regarding the whole three heads thing,I don't really put much faith in prophecys but this came from styr so this definitely must mean something.
"Did you find anything yet?" Rhaenys asked as she came in.
"No,nothing yet"I answered.
"Do you think someone from one of the other forty dragonlord familys is still alive,and that person hatched these new dragons?" Rhaenys asked.
"No that's not really possible at this point"I bluntly answered her.
"Why?" She asked in confusion.
"That red star in the sky doesn't appear every time someone hatches a dragon egg,it means that the person who hatched this egg is an awakened dragon,that person is immune to fire like me among other things. Even if a few members of one of dragonlord familys survived the doom and married amongst each other like brother to sister and passed down that line till now,even after doing all this the dragon blood in their veins will be far too diluted to actually hatch any dragon eggs. The fact is even if the people with Valyrian ancestry married twins the dragon blood in their veins will still be diluted with every generation" I explained.
"So you are sure that it is someone from our house,but everyone was here with us when the red star appeared. Could it be Viserys or Daenerys who we thought were dead but are actually alive somewhere in the world?" Rhaenys wondered.
