{Day 9}
After choosing my evolution path to become a Lower Demonic Blood Cicada, I went into a deep slumber which lasted a whole day. Well to me it felt like 5 minutes honestly, but apparently it wasn't! So, it must have been a whole day.
How do you know that, you don't even have a watch you may ask? Are you a genius?
Well to answer both your questions, yes, I don't have a watch, and yes I am a genius. Well, it's quite obvious how I done it duh, I went outside and a volcano explo... I mean I went outside and it was early morning.
Anyways enough babble, onto the important topic, when I woke up, I felt an influx of power surge through me.
I felt omnipotent, all-powerful, indestructible. "Kneel before my demonic cicada strength Bwahahahaha! Cough. Cough. "
Just kidding, I didn't quite yet feel like one of those master wuxia cultivators that had reached the profound divine dragon realm of glory or something like that, however I did feel quite the bit more powerful.
Then a brilliant thought came to me. Maybe I should start my own demonic cult sect, how about it. Yeah, how about the demonic cicada sect. I'll take in all the cicada's around the world and teach them the way of a demon.
" Do you have a court with death!"

I quickly moved around the building, testing out my newfound strength.
For one thing my speed had increased dramatically, I felt like a certain blue haired hedgehog as I streamed through the air at top speed. My new speed felt outstanding, I could sure get used to this. Hmmm, perhaps when I got a name it would be something like 'speed'. Yh that name does sound quite cool and mysterious.
Amway the basic point is that I got carried away with my new powers and found myself crashing headfirst into a wall.
"OUCH, OUCH, OUCH!"
After that little incident, let's just say I calmed down and took a more cautious approach to things. I was still excited, don't get me wrong but I was more chill and collected, like a koala.
The first thing to do on my to-do list was to see the amount that my stats had increased.

Looking at my status board I could see that much had changed. For starters my species was no longer a normal venom cicada but a lower demonic blood cicada. It went from lame to badass in one jump! However, that wasn't the only thing that leapt from one stage to another, all my stats had received a massive increase. They had become a lot more balanced as well.
Even with all that shimmering nice stuff, that wasn't what caught my attention first.
Yeah, you heard me it wasn't them. What could be more interesting than stat increases you may ask?
2 sentences. Specialised skills. Name gift from sponsor. That is what grabbed my attention.
After seeing those two options the first thing that I did was ask my dear old friend system to differentiate the differences between normal and specialised skills for me.
[Host, normal skills are abilities that can belong or can be learnt by more than one species or species group. For example, a fire salamander can learn flame body more easily than a summer bear, however the skill is not exclusive and others such as yourself can learn it. In contrast, specialised skills can only be learnt by a certain species or species in that family tree, and only those of that species. This means that they are exclusive only to them, so they tend to be much stronger and rarer.]
"Wow, that's awesome. I bagged myself a pretty good skill then! Hey system, let's say you divulge from the evolution path that the skill originates from do you lose it?"
[Yes host, if you went from being a demonic blood cicada, to I don't know... a holy shaman butterfly then you would lose that specialised skill that you've gained.]
After hearing that explanation so many questions flew through my mind.
'Could I extract specialised skills with Void Eater or only normal skills? How would I know which evolution branches were linked to each other or not?

"Yh,yh that one as well", I nodded my head unconsciously.
It took me a minute to figure out that it wasn't me who said it.
"Hey system, buzz off!", I tried to say menacingly.
It didn't work though, instead the system just started laughing at me. I wanted to be angry, but I couldn't, in all honesty it was probably right. I was probably overthinking things, let me just enjoy my new skills and try not to stress out.
"System, please give me the basic description of blood manipulation"
[Blood manipulation - A skill which can only be learnt by the vampire species and its species tree. It involves the manipulation of user's blood or enemies' blood to form weapons or any shape the users wants to construct.
Skill uses MP and HP as a source, first going through MP then HP when finished. The user's MP and HP can be regained/regenerated by absorbing their enemy's blood. There are two types of blood normal blood and pure blood. Normal Blood belonging to normal vampiric beings and pure blood belonging to the higher vampire species.]
"Wait it says that I've got pure blood!", I shouted out in joy.
It was possible for me to become a high-level societal vampire. I could just imagine it, Count Cicada rising to the throne. Mwahahahaha!
This was great. Today was a great day, no an amazing day. Scrap that a superb day!
My route to power, my route to strength, I could see it paved out already in front of me. Now all I needed was a badass name. Something cool, mysterious and profound. Hopefully my sponsor had it out for me.
I could already imagine it, what was it going to be?
"Lower Demonic Blood Cicada- Axel, or maybe William the decapitator, or how about Overlord Cicada Arcadia"
OOoo I just couldn't contain myself.
"Hey system, open the gift from my unknown sponsor! Hurry!", I stated in anticipation.

My body started tingling with excitement, every hair on my body stuck upwards as if they were waiting, like me, for the great unveiling. Today was the day, I would get a name. This would either make or break me as a cicada.
Everyone knows that after appearance that the next thing people remember you by was your name. You could either have an awesome rememberable one, that sounded cool the moment it rolled of your tongue. Or, instead you could have a sh*tty one like Dildou, which would get you mocked forever more!
This was the moment of truth.
My negative 15 luck vs my unexpectedly luck day. Which would win.

This was it. "Breathe, breathe", I would never think that I would start hyperventilating over a name. I would never have such anxiety opening my status screen again.
It took me a few minutes to calm myself down.

RayVer Chi no hana is Japanese for the word 'blood flower'. I've used it as the name of the MC instead joining it to make one name Chinohana. How will our MC react to the news, will he find out that he is now a female cicada? Find out next chapter.
Btw send a powerstone or leave a review of the story so far, I'm trying to reach at least 100 ps. It would really help push my content and who knows I might write some extra chapters for you guys. :)
