Chương 93: Day 71-85 Gaining the fruit was the easy part
Ye Xinghe and Liang Yu were currently walking along the lake getting ready to go out to take the various treasures available since the cat like Demon Beasts he wanted was to far out. Liang Yu at least studied the entire illusion array while he searched.
That and confirmed their were still the oysters in the water.
The two started talking about those Connected to them as Champions. Ones who needed a little finer care and watch over. It was easy to forget the end goal of a Champion was to become a Deity. No matter what kind of one they turned into.
"I duno man, she grows up to be quite a looker if memory serves." Ye Xinghe had his hand under his chin thinking about it. "They had a nice little throuple relationship from what I saw."
"Yeah well, they both decided not to go that route. Maybe just let her be?" Liang Yu frowned. "Liang Jian and Linlin are so happy, I hate to ruin that. Bad enough..."
"Hell naw, she was to good at following orders!" Xinghe shut that down real quick. "You want to find another woman that is as good as her at infiltration and subterfuge, be my guest."
The green-eyed miss of the Lin clan took note of them looking at her. Scrutinizing the two of them and trying to determine who they were. She was not familiar with anyone that looked "their" age in the area.
Behind her, an old man filled her in on who they were. The elder folks of Blue Carp Town are very aware of the changes made and those who did it lately. Waves that started to head towards the capital were not to far from the norm at this point.
"Young mistress, that is the new patriarch of the Azure Feather Clan Ye Xinghe. The other is the winner of the Heavenly Star Academy Heavens Tournament and a scion of the Dark Moon Family."
"Ye Xinghe.. that boy should be younger than me and Liang Yu around the same age as me, yet that does not look the case at all." Lin Yin frowned as she couldn't tell their strength but warning signs kept her from acting to reckless. "I'm going to train now, you two can head on back!"
Before they could respond, she took off into the islands on the lake. Despite the urging of her father, she continued to head out and train. The family tournament was right around the corner.
Lin Jue and his cohort gave each other a look before moving towards Xinghe and Liang Yu. Both paying respects to keep from causing an issue. Neither wanted to die as the Zhao Family Patriarch did.
"Greetings!" The two said respectfully.
"Not bad, at least they know when not to stir the waters." Xinghe looked them over then addressed Liang Yu. "Maybe you should take them under you? Help improve their cultivation and have the means to watch over the Lin Clan."
"No, to risky for other plans." Liang Yu declined. "The Blue Carp Town will be ours soon enough and the Lin Clan has a little history with you. The Dark Moon Family has enough trouble coming its way anyway."
Despite talking about the two, neither really spoke to them as they talked openly.
*Flap!* Techlis came down landing next to the two.
*Rustle!* Yogi the head Demon Bear came charging out of the brush towards them. Stopping right next to Liang Yu like a pet. Head brushing against him happily.
"We are both happy in the Lin Clan, it is best we leave." Lin Jun did not know what they were talking about but the power released from both of the Demon Beasts was not good at all. "We hope you have a good day!"
*Tap!* The two kicked off leaving in a hurry. Feeling they dodged a bullet of sorts.
"Well, we always have later." Xinghe shrugged seeing them scurry off. it was not like they were going to be difficult with the two. "Ok, Techlis there is a big old mean Bird somewhere in the area, go explore and kick its ass when you come across it."
The Frost Bird nodded and flew off. Two other Frost Birds joining on its left and right. The rest at the Azure Feather Clan for protection. Overseeing the expansion area.
"Make sure you secure the area well Yogi, any trouble let me know soon as you can." Liang Yu instructed the demon bear. Placing an herb in its mouth to help recover loss qi from the rolling around and digging it did earlier. "Best to go and get that fruit now."
Yogi rolled off with a group of demon bears joining him. Recon for which demon beasts were a problem in the area needed to be done and they needed some training to do as well.
"Meet up later." Xinghe and Liang Yu said to one another. One jumping in the water the other running across the islands.
*Dush!* The moment Ye Xinghe entered the cold water of the Lake, his Frost Air Body started to hum in power. Absorbing the energy along with his Dantians and Flame Vortex Core.
With the use of the Heart Method to scan and that of his own memory, he found the Giant Oysters. Like before, some were frozen in hibernation with a few actually being dead. With a swipe, the living one was placed into his Internal Space
'This one is dead.' Xinghe reached for the pearl and sure enough, it broke apart. Inside pieces of Superior Purple Jade was scattered. 'Money for supplies and a few pieces for rewards for the those who succeed in their cultivation.'
The Superior Purple Jade was good material to craft Runes on as well.
Going deeper down, the Frost Halberd was pulled out. The Halberd was repairing faster thanks to the dense Frost energy and murky depths. Keeping control of it with his Heart Method, Xinghe activated his Dragon Martial Arts.
The Frost Qi in the lake gravitated towards him like a suction hose. Scales appearing all along his body. The blue-white rune lines appeared across his skin making for a good fright to anyone that could see this.
He looked like an ancient demon beast. Defintely had the smell of one two at times. The deeper he went the happier he became. Down deep in the water he came across what he missed last time. A giant Oyster that was frozen in hibernation but also under a seal.
'Man.. that bites but you are a nice meal!' Xinghe wrapped it in the Heart Method first. Then he checked the surroundings and underneath to make sure nothing unusual happened. Clear, he pulled the Giant Oyster directly into the Flame Vortex Core and started refining it on the spot. 'The Formation only damages and activates if I get close to it, if I would have used Astral Sense last time, I would not have had any trouble taking it! Let alone finding it!'
As the Giant Oyster was refined of the vortex power, the soul of the oyster started to attack back. Refining living creatures inside was always a risk. This time he was at least prepared for the fight back.
As the battle of souls raged on inside him, Xiwangmu opened her eyes looked at the situation then closed them back. A frown on her face as he did not need her help. Which would make future negotiations weaker.

Yogi let out a roar right as Liang Yu took a few of the fruit. Snatching a few more from off the ground, he darted off towards his Demon Beasts to prevent them from dying. Astral Sense already locked on each of them.
Missing a veiled woman having arrived a few moments after in wonder. She had know idea how he reached the secluded spot past the Illusion Array and how he was able to pluck the fruit without any issue.
The Heavenly Weaves Demon Beast had the appearance of a Golden Liger. At the 8th Heavenly Layer, it was no one's match under that of the Celestial Realm for the most part. A few 9th Heavenly Realm experts could beat it if they were good enough.
The body of the Demon Beast made it as if the opponent was fighting two perfectly synched 8th Heavenly Layer Martial Artists.
*Bzzt!* Liang Yu appeared like a bolt of lightning sending a palm to block the moment he finished reforming from qi. Feeling somewhat afraid, the Demon Beast jumped back away from its prey.
The Demon Bear rolling away with the chance given.
"Clever girl." Liang Yu praised the beast. The qi in his palm strike would have paralyzed the Demon Beast if it landed. A look to Yogi and the other Demon Bears proved they put up a good fight. Heavy lacerations missing hair decorating most of the bodies. "Get some rest."
With a wave of the hand, they were all stored into his Internal Space to recover. Diverting his Star Martial Dantian to heal them, everything else was focused on getting him to fight the Demon Beast.
Flame Lightning Vortex and the Dragon Martial Dantian would have to do for now.
The Liger peered around checking for any other humans. Not finding and or smelling any, it almost smiled before taking a swipe at Liang Yu. Ignoring the smell of a Demon Beast coming off of him.
*Boom!* The force of the blow caused a large explosion of dust and air. The paw did not retreat as Liang Yu had a death grip on it with his fingers changed to that of a Dragon Claw. Claws piercing into the flesh introducing poison into the blood stream.
No sense in risking anything while fighting. But unlike a human that would have reacted to the poison with concern, the Liger attacked him. Another swipe carrying powerful qi caught his arm. One claw finding its way into his skin.
*Rip!* With a sickening rip, flesh was pulled from Liang Yu's arm. The good news the rune lines pattern remained. It flowed his qi along keeping blood from gushing out. The flesh that was discarded burst into flames with a simple push of Astral Sense.
"Grr.." The Liger was about to eat the meat before that happened. Whether it was a sadistic need or that his flesh smelled so good was a question for later. "Raaawwrr!" It attacked angered
"Ahhh!" Liang Yu pushed the Metal Seed to counterattack with a shockwave of his own. The two conflicting pressures clashed obscuring sight once more. 'It can rely on its nose to smell me out, no reason t thing this protects me!'
Charging through, he pushed his Dragon Martial Artist along. Dark Black metallic scales covering his arms and legs. Providing more cover for the limbs.
Seeing something cutting through the air at an insane speed, Liang Yu created a lightning blade in his left arm and parried it. The weight and power was to much and pushed him towards the ground.
*Wham!* Feet dug into the ground, he sent out several Flame Darts with his right hand. A few hitting as the telltale sound of cut flesh could be heard. He knew some missed because a tree caught fire.
The Liger was not deterred as it came stalking in from the side. Pouncing on Liang Yu who channeled his qi into his legs and arms. With a slight change in footing, he slammed the large beast into the ground.
The Liger turnover oddly. Its back to him as the tail whipped out breaking the sound barrier and hitting Liang Yu in the left side of the head. Motor functions disrupted, his qi flow the only thing constant keeping him safe.
*Boom!* Liang Yu went flying through a few trees. Burning a whole through them as Fire Body was circulated to a higher degree. With a quick pass of lightning through his body, he had control much faster than the Liger suspected possible from its prey.
*Bzzzzt!* When traveling through the trees in a straight shot, he allowed his lightning qi to leak out. One, to have the Liger be able to track him if it was foolish enough to come towards him. Two, in case it was smart enough not to, it gave a quick way back and a method of attack.
'Not getting away this time!' Liang Yu's eyes flared as his Astral Sense changed the lightning trail into a tunnel. His qi creating a lightning bridge that he could travel back on. Not on his legs mind you. 'The Demon Bears do it, so why can't I!'
Turning into a metallic ball surrounded by fire and lightning, Liang Yu shot himself along the bridge back towards the Liger. Each spot he passed collapsed the bride and caused him to accelerate. The good news all the fire that started in the area was pulled back to him.
"Grrr!" The Liger, whether to stupid to run or unable to see any track of him growled, in place. "Raawwr!" It was only at the last moments that it was able to react. Moving away from imminent death.
Shooting pass the dodging demon beast, Liang yu prepared for that just in case. The last of the Lightning Bridge pulled him back like a string on a yoyo. He spun in place and redirected hitting the Liger in the ribcage.
*Fwish!* The flames around his body circling out and stealing the air from the beast.
*Bzzt!* Waves of lightning hammering against the mental defense of the liger that kept it from swiping him with its tail and leaving once more.
Forcefully retracting his metallic dragon scales, Liang Yu shot his hand out grabbing the Demon Beast. But the Liger was still defiant and chomped down on his arm with a vicious bite. It was rewarded with a blast of heat from the runes inscribed on the Skelton.
"Raawwr!" A painful cry as its head moved back. Burn marks decorating its mouth and throat. The demon beast looked at the cunning human with disdain and confusion. The smell around him was that of a demon beast even more right now.
The activation of the Advanced Demon Beast Manual had more benefits early on than the other he studied did.
*Splurt!* Removing his hand from the throat of the beast, it gave a whimper out. Death was coming as far as it could tell but Liang Yu suprised the Liger as he started to tame the beast. Dousing it in Flame Vortex Core Qi during the process.
"Puurr!" The Liger purred in happiness. The human had defeated it and was taming it but the pleasure from the wound's healing was more than made up from it. The circling of the Advance Beast Manual improving its body and way of fighting even more so.
As far as the Liger was concerned, Liang Yu was some type of Demon Beast that had a perfect Human Form.
The Connection between the two forming the moment he touched it after defeating it. As he healed it, it grew stronger even more so than the process the taming gave.
As time passed and it was fully healed and compliant, Liang Yu looked over towards the location Shangguan was watching from. With his current injuries, it would not be wise to engage her in a fight.
Good thing backup was on its way. Ye Xinghe was still refining the Oyster but this was more important. Liang Yu could escape from Shangguan if he pushed himself but the Liger was already aching for another fight.
Smelling Shangguan and knowing she was a demon beast in human form, the creature considered her an enemy. Since she was lurking in the woods and all and didn't join in the fight against it.
