Chương 49: Day 148-165 Meeting and Facing a Loss Part 2
"The country won't just enter chaos so easily." Ye Xinghe didn't think so considering current events. But that was from the bubble of his town. 'Lin Hong said things will change but he was not clear how.'
"In a few years maybe you will step into the 8th Heavenly Realm, or into the 9th Heavenly Realm if things would have stayed... normal." Ye Yue had calmed down enough that she was focused once more. Her eyes looked out over Blue Carp Lake trying to figure something out. "Maybe the strife can be survived by your family then."
"Patriarch Liang Yu, you must be joking. Even if the political situation descends into chaos as you say, there are still various power at play. Such as The City Lords of Each City, The Tianxin Sect, The Sword Sect, and even the Divine Sea Pavilion with other secret groups to keep things from getting to out of hand." Ye Xinghe denied it would turn as bad as was said. "The Drak Moon Family lost a lot of its power in the change over to a new Patriarch I bet. The same as the Azure Feather Clan not having a lot of experts, we are in the same boat."
He tried once more to get him to see the benefit of an Alliance.
"Not even close." Liang Yu shook his head. "A family with someone at the 8th Heavenly Layer is already someone to keep mindful of. One with two is defintely someone to worry about. Especially if they have guards at the 6th Heavenly Realm on average."
"But didn't the Dark Moon Family lose the former head a few days ago?" Ye Xinghe had been given that report when he returned. While they messed around in the tomb, the former Patriarch returned to the Dark Moon Family to set things right they heard. But he was then "killed" by those that were there. "No need to bluff among us. We are not enemies."
"You are not worth bluffing in that regard. Currently, we have a 9th Heavenly Realm in the camp, injured but still someone at the 9th level. About 12 or 13 7th Heavenly Realm with 5 at 8th Heavenly Realm. What we need to be defended will be defended. What needs governing will be governed."
"The Dark Moon Family has the right allies and the people on its side, soon it will become a Great House the Empire will have no choice but to respect or try to take down." Lei Hong was aware of the strength but not that it was so high from the days he spent there. Not even mentioning the fact Liang Yu was close with the Academy. "The Divine Sea Pavilion is not safe in their territory. But since they only attack corrupt officials, and nobles who abuse their power like they say, they shouldn't even be in the region still."
"If you are someone who is for the people the way it seems.." Ye Xinghe looked at his family members as well as the ones who were on the "other" side now with regret. "..if the Azure Feather Family is in danger.. will you help them?"
"Do not count on it. They made their bed now they have to sleep in it." Liang Yu walked off with his people following behind. "Make sure that wolf gets stronger, it will make for fine entertainment."
Ye Xinghe had know idea what that meant but Ye Yue behind him smiled. She was told that if she acquired the beast it would help her even further in her understanding of the martial arts given to her.
They were not done in the area as Liang Yu wanted to check out the lake waters. Just in case the cold in the waters returned in a way that deserved more attention.

"I overheard your conversation. So what do you intend on doing? Do you wish to hide away safely in Blue Carp Town as others deal with the ensuing Chaos?" Shangguan was not pleased at all. She didn't think someone who was the descendant by the Emperor would turn into a fool and a coward. "Xia Yuning has gone back to her family taking the measure of protection with her. The others in your family are aware more of the decisions you made in the past so disharmony will take place faster if something is not done."
"I.. Iwill neither hide in a corner, nor compete in power games. I just want my family to be safe." Ye Xinghe couldn't look her in the eyes. "I want An Xueyun safe and reunited with her sister. I don't want anyone to suffer. I don't want to see a family member look at me with such hatred like Ye Yue did."
"You want a lot without really wanting to do much to change it. What are your plans?" Shangguan felt he still showed a little promise. 'If only Lin Yin and he worked togethor. Things would have gone a lot better. Xia Yuning is to willful and the girl An Xueyun from what I have picked up is a poor candidate.' Feeling a stirring and someone's presence, she locked on to them. 'Liang Yu has developed in such a way, I will need to pay him a visit and see what he knows about me. To think his senses has the ability to lock onto the conversation from this distance.'
*Shine!* With a wave of her finger, a light of green qi shot out towards the distance. It was so fast Ye Xinghe didn't even notice it.
"Why not become a subsidiary clan once more? Just until you have the strength for more dangerous actions. The Dark Moon Clan or the Lin Clan are your best chances."
"Well.." Sighing heavily Ye Xinghe forced out an answer. His eyes shining as a touch of "Destiny" caused the tablet inside of him to react. "...whatever the Political Situation of the country, it is the people who suffer. Liang Yu was right about the Divine Sea Pavilion being no different than the Imperial Family. Not to mention the other Great Houses causing an issue in their strive for power. Asking me to go back to my clan and tell them I was wrong to ask for independence then turn back to joining is not acceptable."
Pride was the downfall of many. Shangguan felt the notion of those in the area still beneath her. Ye Xinghe would either succeed or fail due to his emotions. The same as his Ancestor did in the past.
"What I can do is to continually build up the strength of the Azure Feather Family, and save as many people as I can from the Chaos." Reaching into his robe, he pulled out a map. He guarded it well against Ling Yu in the palace. "The Emperor's treasure will help greatly if I get my hands on it, the clan will defintely listen t me more."
"If you are truly sure of your actions then I can help you a little more." Shangguan was not interested in the treasure in any way. DO not get to happy with my words. "I" will not get involved in the affairs of this world further. Liang Yu was right about those who search for me. The Azure Feather Family will be erased from the face of the Earth if they knew my exact location."
"You really have such a powerful enemy.. I didn't realize." Ye Xinghe thought it was just idle words. 'At most, they can rival the Imperial Family! Or maybe they just have a large force of 9th Heavenly Realm Cultivators.' His scope of power was still to small to understand the vast powers out there.
"My enemy is not someone you can hope to fight." A small look of disappointment crossed her eyes. "Lin Yin was close to helping me get free. But her family situation took up to much of her time. Thankfully you were able to do it. Time grows short, I will give you this to help you. Follow me."
Ye Xinghe and Shangguan took off into the lake. As for the light of qi she sent off previously. It locked onto Liang Yu without him noticing it. Her skills were afterall higher than his own.
A sense of caution overtook the old woman. She would need to do a little prodding before separating from Ye Xinghe about what all happened in the Palace.

Blue Carp Lake Night-Time-

Liang Yu was looking over the lake with Ye Yue. Out of the woods came Popeye and the other Fire Birds. On the back of Popeye was the little girl An Xueyan.
"Good job." Liang Yu thanked Popeye and the other Demon Beasts. More and more he was understanding the creature's thought process. He placed his hand on the child and sent his qi inside. A small bit from the Flame Vortex Core spun adding to it. "Take her back to the camp and make sure she is explained what needs to be done. No second chances."
"I will handle it personally." Ye Yue picked the girl up and stopped for just a moment. "Do think this is wise?"
"No, but it will help solidify Old Xu with us. Which will make sure the school is with us. More protection is a must in case things go wrong. Plans fail all the time." Liang Yu started circulating his qi to prepare for his guest to arrive. He could feel her making her way over. "Move as fast as you can and make sure things go well."
"I will. You better come back to us!" Ye Yue shot off with the demon beasts following along. She met up with Gu Yunlan and Lei Hong a few miles away. The looks on the two face was that of wonder. "He said to head back without him. We have to make sure the area stays safe and the citizens are happy."
They didn't argue only looking back as they felt Liang Yu's qi rise from this distance. It was the first time they felt it so high. The desire to rush that way was suppressed by the fact they couldn't help if they did.
With heavy hearts, they moved back to the direction of the Dark Moon Family compound.
