In fact, whoever went with them to Zocarro should take advantage of a passage through The Enchanted Realm for a few years to prepare for Zocarro.

Minos felt it was well worth letting his companions and family experience a world more powerful than the one they already knew, but not as strong as Zocarro. Since the time distortion between such a place and Zocarro was so great, it was worthwhile for them to stop there.
