Chương 65: Tactical Retreat
Baby 5 was having a hard time making a decision on whether or not to join the Asura Pirates or to stay with the Donquixote Pirates. 'What do I do? Do I stay with the Donquixote Pirates and stay loyal to Doflamingo or do I join the Asura Pirates and be with Law? Law has really grown up since the last time I saw him and I want to be with him. And now this lady tells me that he needs me. It is too much for me and my heart. Plus, there is a fact that she might be faking it and Law does not really need me.' thought Baby 5 as she started daydreaming about her life with Law until they grow old and have a family together but then put on a cold face as she thought of the last sentence. Robin saw her daydreaming and cold face and thought 'She really likes Law that is for sure. I just do not know if it is enough for her to join our crew. Maybe if it comes from Law she would be motivated to join.' and just went to Law and woke him up.
When he was woken up, Law felt a lot of pain from his body and he saw that Robin was looking at him like she needed something from him. "What do you want Robin? I am too injured to heal anybody right now." said Law in a pained tone as he was still severely tired and injured from his fight with Doflamingo. Robin smiled but her aura was not smiling and said "Can you tell your girlfriend over there that you want her to join the crew because you need her." as she pointed at the zoned out Baby 5. Law felt shivers when he saw the 'smile' of Robin as he said "First of all, Baby 5 is not my girlfriend and second, why use me to recruit her? You could just say you need her and she will become loyal to you forever, I think." Robin shrugged and said in a very serious expression "I do not know so just tell her that you need her or something. Maybe tell her that you need a nurse or somthing. I do not know just make her join. Her fruit is very useful to us and she does not fit in Doflamingo's crew."
After getting 'convinced' by Robin, Law stood up weakly and he called out "Baby 5!" Baby 5 looked at Law and her expression melted but soon became very worried as she saw Law's current state. "What happened to you Law? Are you okay? Do you need a med kit? Do you need help? What do you need?" said Baby 5 as she bombarded Law with questions and Law was surprised at how worried Baby 5 was for him as he started feeling warm in his heart. 'What is this feeling? This is the first time I have felt this.' thought Law as he was looking at Baby 5 as he unconsciously blurted out "I need you Baby 5." Baby 5 heard this and was surprised as she started jumping around while saying "Oy black-haired girl! Do not get the wrong idea! I am joining because of Law and not because you invited me." Robin chuckled at this as she said "Yeah, yeah, just do your best as Law's partner and you will be fine." Baby 5 put on a proud expression as she said "Of course! That is already a given since Law and I are meant to be! As long as he needs me, I will stay by his side." Robin was jealous of their interactions as she thought of her relationship with Alex. She wanted to take initiative like Baby 5 but she was afraid of getting rejected, so she keeps putting it off. 'Damn it Alex, why don't you make the first move!' said Robin in her heart as she looked at his figure fighting Doflamingo.
While they were busy with the recruiting of Baby 5, Alex was having a hard time with fighting Doglamingo. 'So this is the level of the top pirates of the Grandline. I guess I got too cocky of my strength and almost got myself killed. And the giants only faked their defeat when we dueled at Little Garden. I need to train more to get to the top. This strength is not enough for the first part of the Grandline, so I need to surpass it before I get to the New World.' thought Alex as he was on his last bursts of energy in order to fight Doflamingo. Doflamingo noticed this and mockingly said "Looks like you are getting tired boy. It is already a miracle that you are blocking my attacks. But this kind of strength is not enough if you want to survive in the Grandline. And you also want to become Pirate King with that pitiful strength. Don't make me laugh. You are simply too weak for the Grandline." Alex could not say anything back to Doflamingo as he knew that everything he said was true and that he was truly weak. 'He is right. How can I become the Pirate King when I am this weak? He made me realize how big the world really is.' thought Alex as he started to think that he did not deserve to be Pirate King. But then, Alex thought of everyone who is supporting his dream. His family, Franco, his crew and the other people he encountered during his journey were supporting his dream. 'Yeah, I still have them behind me, so why am I giving up? I will not give up and I will achieve it for me and for everyone who believes in me.' thought Alex as he was powering up for his final attack against Doflamingo. Doflamingo saw this and immediately attacked Alex.
When Doflamingo was about to attack Alex again, a thunderbolt struck in between them and the explosion flung them away as they hit the nearby trees. "Looks like we will not be able to finish our fight Alex. I will see you again, if ever you survive the Grandline. Let's leave the island we might get hit by the thunderbolt." Doflamingo left with his crew as he left Alex and his group on the island.

ImStar0710 My novel will still follow the canon timeline, but since my OCs would be added there are more things that would change in the One Piece World. This novel is just a product of my ideas that I got while I was reading about One Piece.
