Chương 59: Duel with the Giants
After agreeing to the deal and bet of the twins, Alex got ready for his duel with the giants. This will be his first difficult battle of his life and it may result in his death. *Sigh* 'This will be my first battle that I am not sure if I am going to win. But for the sake of my and my crew's dreams, I will win this and prove that I am worthy of their loyalty and their dreams.' said Alex in his head as he prepared and composed himself.
In the Black Pearl, there were people shouting and were restless. These people were Alex's crew, the Asura Pirates, who were currently arguing because of their captain's duel. Both sides were torn because the group that didn't stop their captain was being berated by the group that stayed on the boat. "Why didn't you stop the captain?! Those were not regular two people! Those were giants! Giants, you hear me! And you expect that the captain would win against not one, but two of them! Are you all crazy?!" Petronia said as she was the most shocked because she didn't want to lose another one of her family again. Especially Alex since he was the one who saved her from the slave auction and gave her a family again. But now, he was about to walk to his death by fighting two giants and he was not stopped by the group. "We could not do anything Petronia, the captain was not going to back down from the fight especially when he made a deal with the giants." said Franco and Petronia asked "What deal? What was he thinking?!" this time it was Robin who answered, "He made a deal when the giants lose they would serve under his flag as a new giant division or a giant fleet. He told me it was his dream to change the world and that he needed a lot of loyal people for him to realize that dream. And after his crew, this is the first of many loyal groups that he plans to recruit." when Robin said their captain's dream the crew, except Franco, was shocked because this was the first time that they heard of the captain's dream. They were also happy since their captain included them in his dream and did not treat them as his tools to achieve his very ambitious dream.
The crew was silent for a moment until Franco spoke up "No matter what all of you say, we will support captain in this fight because I promised captain that I will help him realize his dream of turning the world upside down. I have heard of his dreams ever since we were kids and I have seen how hard he works to be able to realize that dream. Even though he knows he is strong, he still works harder than anyone else and always pushes past his limits. And I also work hard in order for me to be able to stand beside captain and accompany him in his journey to the top. So, that is why we should just believe in captain as he also believes in us that we will have his back because we are his family and crew." the crew were very surprised to see Franco speak a lot of words in one saying. This was because Franco was the shadow of their captain and they also call him the captain's sharpest dagger as he cuts through their captain's enemies very easily and in a silent way. "Yeah, we just have to trust in the captain as he always pulled through when we were in trouble. How many of us were in a pinch when captain saved us? Almost all of us were in a pinch when captain saved us. He was the one who guided us from the dark to the light, so we have to be just like that to the captain when he will fight those giants." said Braga as he remembered his captain calling him his family when he asked him to join the crew. While they were talking, there were two people who were listening to their conversation. "Well, it seems we joined someone pretty good right, Axel?" said Lexa as Axel answered "Yeah, he seems to be respected and honored by his crew which means that he truly was saying the truth. I thought he was just a scammer or worse a spy for that filthy noble." they both smiled and went to the ship and introduced themselves.
While the crew was talking and about to meet their two new members, Alex was currently waiting for the two giants to come. And as he was sharpening his blades that he will be using in this fight, he heard heavy footsteps and smiled. "I thought you both would have surrendered without a fight. I have been waiting for you guys." the two giants laughed and Dorry said "Why would we surrender to a brat like you! Prepare brat as we will not be holding back against you." Alex smiled and said, "I would not have it any other way." as he charged towards the giants with his two swords and imbued them with Haki. The two giants charged forward as well and tried to clash with Alex's sword and as they clashed, the giants were surprised that Alex was able to hold of the both of them. "How is he able to do this!?" said Brogy as he finally realized that the kid had eight extra arms that were holding his and Dorry's swords. "What is with this kid?! Dorry let's push him off!" Dorry shouted as the both of them pushed harder and finally, Alex was pushed off by the giants. They did not give him any room to breathe as Dorry and Brogy continued their assault on Alex and Alex was forced to defend all of their attacks. 'Damn it, did I bite more than I can chew today? Is this the day I die? NO! I won't fall here today!' said Alex in his mind as he was trying to unlock the shackles that hindered him from mastering the second stage. Alex just kept on dodging and blocking as he was being thrown around by the two giants. His body was now bloodied and looked like he was about to die and to add insult to injury the giants were taunting him and saying "This is all you got brat? I expected much from you! It seems you were just all talk! Come on Dorry, let's end this fight." said Brogy as they prepared their final attack. But as they were preparing their final attack, they heard a voice "Not yet." they were surprised that they saw Alex who was standing with his ten arms and he also had marks all over his body. "Not yet, I will block your strongest attack, so come at me you bastards!" the giants smiled and said "Well if you die kid, don't blame us!" as they clashed one final time, the whole island shook. There was dust everywhere and when it finally settled, there were two giants who were unconscious and Alex who was standing tall over them and he said "Thank you for the duel." as he reverted to his original size and fell unconscious. The final thing he saw was his crewmates, who were running towards him to catch him, and he smiled at them and closed his eyes.
