Chương 34: First Bounties?!
(Flashback)
(A few hours before the auction)
"Franco we need to buy some den-den mushis for the crew so that we can contact each other better." said Alex as it was getting harder for them to contact the crew whenever they dock on an island and split up.
"Yeah we should really buy those so that we wouldn't have to go around the island just to find them. How many should we buy?" said Franco as he agreed with his captain's suggestion.
"Let's buy seven for the crew." said Alex after thinking about it.
"What?! Why are we going to buy seven? There are only five of us in the ship." said Franco as he didn't get why his captain would buy two extra den-den mushis.
"It's for our two next crew members I'm going to recruit." said Alex as he was planning on recruiting the girl in the auction and the rumored 'Miracle Doctor' at Organ Islands.
"So you're going to recruit the girl in the auction, but who is the other one?" asked Franco as he was truly confused because he didn't know what was going on in his captain's mind.
"You'll see." replied Alex with a mysterious smirk on his face much to Franco's annoyance.
After buying seven den-den mushis and going around the whole island, Alex and Franco finally gathered the crew much to their dissatisfaction. The crew was asking why their trip on this island was cut short. After hearing their complaints, Alex finally spoke and said "I have gathered you all here to give you these." as he handed out den-den mushis to everyone then he continued, "These would help us contact each other even if we split up at the next islands we are going to." the crew just nodded and Robin asked "Then why gather us here now? You could've given it to us while we are sailing to the next island." Alex smiled and said " I really can't hide anything from you, Robin. Well the reason is that I plan on raiding an auction house here with Franco and I want all of you to monitor the movement of the Marines and the guards and stop them from getting to the auction house." then Alex proceeds to tell them about the plan where Robin would restrain the guards, Fraulein and Braga would clear the way out of the city while Alex and Franco would raid the auction house and kill the nobles inside and steal the valuables and rescue the girl inside.
After finalizing the plan, Alex and his crew split up to their positions and asked them to report through their den-den mushi. After the crew saw the explosion from the auction house, they immediately sprang into action by incapacitating all the marines and the guards then going back to the ship and wait for Alex and Franco to arrive. When they all went back to the ship Fraulein spoke "Is this really okay? I mean if we succeed, then doesn't that mean we're criminals now?" Braga replied "Who cares if we're criminals, aren't we already criminals when we killed Don Papito's men or when we killed the Marines on the ship that one time? So don't worry about it, and besides we didn't really kill them." Robin added "The moment we set sailed with captain, we were already ready to live the life of pirates. Even if we don't kill innocents, the World Government and the Marines would still chase us just because we're pirates."
As they were talking their captain arrived with Franco and the girl they saved from the auction house.

As they were sailing away from Hestdosa Archipelago, they finally get acquainted with Petronia and asking her what she does Petronia just answered "I wanted to be a navigator because my parents and I wanted to sail the seas together, but they were killed when our village was attacked by slave traders and I was captured. They gave me a book about everything I needed to know about navigating and I studied everything and remembered everything from the book because I wanted to sail with them." the crew was saddened by her story and comforted her and then Alex spoke up and asked Petronia "Petronia, please join our crew as our navigator! I know you wanted to sail with your family so much, so in their memory, sail with us and we'll sail the seas together." Petronia didn't know what to say and was tearing up, and after a few moments said "Yes! I will sail with you as our navigator!" while thinking 'Mom, Dad, watch your Petronia as she will achieve our dream of sailing around the world'
After they Petronia accepted to be part of the crew, Alex was curious about the Three-Eye Tribe even if he had already read them in the books given to him by his pops, he wanted to hear it from a person from the tribe itself. So, when Alex was sitting on the deck of the ship with Petronia he asked her "So, Petronia is it really true that you could possibly awaken the 'Voice of All Things' that could enable you to read the Poneglyphs? Is it true that you also have clairvoyance that helps you feel and see your surroundings? Can you also see ghosts with your third eye?" after a barrage of questions from her curious captain/little brother, Petronia gets flustered but then managed to control her emotions and said "Yes, us pure-bloods could possibly achieve what we call the 'true awakening' which would awaken the 'Voice of All Things' but we don't know how to achieve it. It's just BAM then we have it, but I haven't awaken mine though. Actually, I discovered that I could feel the patterns in the weather or sometimes 'see' the weather patterns, so I can predict what kind of weather we're gonna get and estimate when it will arrive. And no, I cannot see ghosts with my third eye. Why does everyone keep asking me that?" Alex was happy with the answers he had gotten because he had a second person on his crew that could possibly read the Poneglyphs.
The next day while they were on the ship having breakfast, the News Coo appeared and they read the headline of the newspaper [HESTDOSA ARCHIPELAGO ATTACKED! AUCTION HOUSE DESTROYED!]. They weren't surprised because Hestdosa Archipelago is one of the richest islands in the East Blue.
But as they were reading, pieces of papers suddenly fell out. Alex looked at it and was laughing, and his crew looked at him and asked him what was on it. He then showed them the papers as he said "It's our first bounties, well for Robin it's her second. But we've done it guys, we're pirates now and there is no going back."
