Chương 90: Chapter 88: Newborn
Luke takes out the magic communication device that is beeping in his pocket and sees the red lights flashing. It means that it is an emergency. The others also stopped talking and looked at the beeping device in Luke's hand. Nash then immediately connected it and Noah's face appeared on the screen. He appeared tense.
"Brother, what is it?"
•Finesse... She is..... She is about to give birth.
"What?"
Luke stood up from his seat. Finesse is giving birth? Luke then looked at the others.
"Excuse me, but I have to leave."
Mira and the others nodded. Nash immediately cast teleportation magic, leaving Erdene behind. Luke then bid his farewells.
'Unlike in the original story, the main characters of the novel I read are about to have a child. I'm curious what it'll look like.'

Luke, Noah, and the rest of the gang all sit silently in the hallway. When Luke arrived at the estate, Nash summoned the others, who were now nervously silent. None of them were talking.
"AAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!"
It's been hours since they got here and they always hear Finesse screaming inside the room every second. All of them were nervous, especially Noah... He was a wreck.
"Dammit... I kept hearing her scream... Is she okay?"
Luke sighed and looked at a pale Noah, who was nervously staring at the ground.
"I believe... screams are normal for women giving birth."
Luke was a stranger to these kinds of scenarios, so he knew nothing. He didn't know if the screaming was part of giving birth or should they charge inside. It is the same for the rest. They don't know what the hell they should do, so they are just quietly sitting there while hearing Finesse's horrified screams echoing through the hallway.
•Dad... I peeked inside a little bit and... I saw blood everywhere and Finesse's painful screams inside. It looks painful and hard.
'What? Did he just said that he just peeked?'
Luke then made a face of disbelief. Nash is currently invisible now, so he doesn't even know where to look. He just lifted his arms and started to guess where Nash was. He then felt something round and fluffy and patted it. Luke just sighed.
It finally went quiet after a few hours of silence while listening to Finesse's screams. The group then looked at each other.

As if possessed, they all turned their heads towards the opening door and saw the doctor coming out with an exhausted face.
"Y-you haaa, you may enter."
The group then stood up and slowly walked towards the door. They then peeked and saw Finesse's sweaty and exhausted face. But that wasn't the only thing that they saw. They saw a little squirming pile of cloth in Finesse's hands. Finesse smiled gently and looked at Luke and Noah, who was looking at her.
"Come on in."
Luke and Noah gulped and slowly approached Finesse's bed. They then peeked inside the pile of cloth and saw a rather quiet baby sleeping in Finesse's arms. The baby has a small brown patch of hair like Finesse's. Luke and Noah stared at it for a while longer but flinched when they saw the baby open its eyes. It has blue eyes.
•Dad! It looks just like Finesse!
Luke agreed and looked at the baby, who had Finesse's hair and eyes. Luke then asked with a questioning look.
"Is it... A boy?"
Finesse smiled and nodded.
"It seems that your gut feeling about my baby being a boy was right."
Luke smiled triumphantly.
'Nailed it.'
Luke was happy that his gut feeling was right. He didn't have to buy clothes all over again, since the baby was a boy. Luke then asked again.
"What's his name?"
Finesse smiled and looked at Noah, who had been quiet since they got here. Finesse then spoke with teary eyes.
"I want Noah to name it."
"M-me?"
Noah finally said something. Finesse nodded at Noah, who was pointing at himself. Finesse then slowly passed the baby to Noah's arms. Noah then put the baby in his arms and looked at him straight. Luke just sighed and smiled, feeling like he should back off; after all, this was the main characters' moment, and he was just a reader.
Luke then walked towards Liam and the others and crossed his arms while looking at the happy family. While looking at this, Luke suddenly had a thought.
'If I hadn't been here to interfere, would they still be happy like this? If I weren't here, would Nash manage to survive? If I weren't present, would Spencer still have his siblings? Will Selena still be executed?'
There are so many scenarios and 'ifs' inside Luke's head. He then realized that everything had led to this point because he had intervened. Luke sighed at the thought. He was so busy thinking about himself that he didn't even notice that a lot had changed.... far from the original plot. Luke sighed.
'Well, I promised myself that no one would die... But of course, my number one priority is myself.'
Luke just sighed and looked at Noah's bloodshot eyes, preventing himself from crying. Noah then spoke in a croaking voice.
"I'll call him... Ethan."
"Ethan, what a pretty name."
Noah then sat beside Finesse's bed and cuddled with her with their baby in the center. The maids who were looking at this all moved into tears. It is the same for Julius, Selena, and the children. Luke then heard Nash's somewhat solemn voice.
•A family huh.....
Luke then gently grabbed Nash's head and put his small body closer to his chest. He then started to slowly pat Nash.
"Stop thinking about such things. Keep in mind that you now have a family."
Luke could then feel Nash clenching his fists in his clothes. Seeing Finesse, Noah, and Ethan as a vibrant family must have brought back memories of his late mother. Luke just sighed and patted Nash's back. That went on for hours. Finesse seems to have finally fallen asleep and the baby is being taken care of by the maids and the doctor. The group and Noah then all went outside. They then all sighed in relief that everything went well. Luke patted Noah's relaxed shoulder.
"Congratulations."
"Thanks."
Luke smiled and moved past Noah towards the teleportation room. The group then followed behind him while congratulating Noah on the way. Noah just said 'thanks' to them and bid them goodbye. It was only a short exchange, but Noah could feel their sincerity in it. After all, they sat here with anxious faces while waiting for Finesse to be okay earlier. Noah just looked at their backs, which were slowly walking away, and smiled.
