Hearing the voice of Vayne's father, Stroph had already prepared for battle, and the words about a defender of one of the areas of the "City of Precious Stones" alerted him.

But, instead of the intimidating Phantom, or as Vayne's father had said, the Warrior, Stroph saw his old friend.

Charles hadn't changed much. He still liked big swords and formal style. He looked classy and studious, all textbook. The only difference was that he was soaring through the air, and it was obvious to the naked eye how strong he was.

When they saw each other, they were greatly surprised, and they weren't the only ones. Robert, Elizabeth, and Amber had come to the "City of Precious Stones" just because of Charles. Their families moved to the same town in the Inner Circle, which was pretty close to the border.
