Liveliness ensued after a brief silence on the bus. It was the first day of school and they were on their way to the military camp, so it was natural for them to be curious if the military base was exactly as shown on TV. 

Plugging in her earphones, Shen Xi listened to music and closed her eyes for a rest. 

Following a two-hour journey, the vehicle came to a stop at the destination. 

Shen Xi, Jiang Xuanxuan, and Ruan Xiaoxiao just hopped out of the bus when Zhang Lan came running their way. She must have been crying since her eyes were swollen. 

Quick to approach Shen Xi, Zhang Lan frantically extended her arms to grab ahold of Shen Xi. She was caught between sobs. "Xixi, you have to help me." 

With a frown, Shen Xi laid bare the disgust in her eyes. Looking askance at her, she drew back and took off as if Zhang Lan was invisible.
