Chương 43: Introduction
The following walk went, as usual, Kenichi losing his shit at seeing the masters do their normal training and ending up blacking out after Akisame scared the boy. Almost as if they had rehearsed it before, which might actually be true, considering their personalities.
After regaining consciousness Kenichi, was astonished when Miu appeared next to him, apologizing to him for the resident's childish behavior, while mentioning she lived at Ryōzanpaku and the giant man that almost scared him to death was, in fact, her grandfather.
The masters had grouped up in front of Kenichi and asked if the boy wanted to sign in as Ryōzanpaku's disciple. Affirming suspiciously, since Kensei had started lowering the fee once Kenichi exclaimed how much it was, starting at 2000, ending at a quarter, 500.
Then came who would actually teach the boy, Sakaki being his tsundere self, denied, Apachai was out of the question, they needed someone to pay them, not someone dead. Kensei did not talk and Shigure finally threw Akisame under the bus.
Having reached a conclusion, without Akisame even accepting, Kenichi became his disciple. For the first day Akisame gave some light training, which almost killed Kenichi, made him doubt life, and try to run away, but seeing Miu's encouraging face, Kenichi, on the brink of death decided he might actually stay, even if only a few more days.
Quickly after starting training, Akisame decided to ask him, for what reason did Kenichi seek strength, all of the masters heard his reply, finally deciding to teach him seriously, with the exception of Apachai and Shigure.
With both Sakaki and Kensei entering the mix, Kenichi was able to beat his Karate club bully, happy beyond belief he went to tell his masters about the exciting news, masters who then proceeded to extinguish his excitement, telling him that the fact that he, a first-year beat a notorious bully, would make other groups notice him.
To Kenichi's horror his master's prediction became true, Niijima told the boy that if he became more notorious, the Ragnarök gang would come for him, not at all thanks to Niijima. He begged his masters for help, deciding their little disciple might need more training, his torture increased.
At some point, Kenichi asked about Miu's parents, "And your parents Miu, where are they."
With a forlorn look, Miu responded, "I don't know, I haven't seen them for some time."
Kenichi believed they were missing or dead, due to Miu's look, deciding it was better to leave the conversation he quickly apologized to her. Miu stood there, confused, not understanding what had Kenichi apologized about.
After more encounters with bullies, Kenichi realized he needed to learn how to use or at least fight against weapons, completely ignoring the resident weapon mistress at the dojo, who tried to teach him how to use a sword, training which quickly changed to wood spoons, and after Shigure almost killed him with it, the training was reduced to folded paper.
Shigure was sad Kenichi hadn't asked her for training, actually enjoying the presence of the boy in the dojo, he seemed interested in everyone's martial arts, except hers.

At some point, Akisame took his little disciple out on a walk, which quickly became a fight, if you could call some random gangsters trying to attack Akisame that, seeing one of his sensei's strength Kenichi had to ask Sakaki about it.
Enthusiastically Kenichi asked his sensei "So Sakaki-sensei, who is the strongest between you and Akisame-sensei?"
Not bothered by the question Sakaki replied, "Ah well, if we fought one of us would end up killing the other, so you could call us the strongest in Ryōzanpaku." Laughing boastfully.
Kenichi became excited by the answer, "Wow, really?" What he didn't realize was Shigure appeared from the ceiling, upside down, sending a glare at Sakaki, seeing it, Sakaki coughed embarrassingly, and corrected himself, "Well maybe second strongest."
Kenichi was confused, "Huh, what do you mean sensei, weren't you the strongest?"
Even more embarrassed Sakaki answered, "You see, the strongest is The elder, but we are the second strongest." Pride returned to his voice.
Shigure kept and even increased her glare at Sakaki, at this point, not caring whether Kenichi noticed her, he yelled at her, "What? He isn't a member of Ryōzanpaku, and the demon doesn't count." Ending with a scoff.
Kenichi finally noticing Shigure in the ceiling, at first was scared, but after calming himself, he asked Sakaki, "What do you mean Sakaki-sensei?, Who isn't a member of Ryōzanpaku? And what demon?"
His answer came in two forms, for the first one he pointed at Shigure and answered his disciple question, "He is Shigure's boyfriend, they actually do not live here, which is why you haven't met him."
Astonished at his answer Kenichi quickly looked at Shigure, and asked, "You have a boyfriend?"
The girl only nodded, "Hai, hubby."
Hearing her answer, Kenichi only looked at Sakaki, "Hubby?"
Sakaki shrugged, "Do not be mistaken by her stoic look Kenichi, she becomes extremely attached and lovey-dovey when he is here."
Shigure blushed, launched a couple of shuriken at Sakaki, which he skillfully caught, not before scaring the living shit out of Kenichi and then left, too embarrassed to stay.
Finally getting over the scare Kenichi asked him once again, "And the demon?"
Sakaki only shivered, not answering at all. Seeing his sensei's reaction Kenichi imagined all sorts of things, a giant muscular guy, who tortured his master, or a shadowy figure in the night, ready to kill. He joined Sakaki on his shivering.

Following the events, still totally not caused by Niijima, Kenichi needed to prepare for his fight against Takeda, knowing that he was a boxer, Kenichi went his masters for help, the only one being remotely able to help him with boxing, being Apachai.
After Kenichi being declared medically dead, for three seconds though, Sakaki and the elder had a talk with Apachai about holding back, repeatedly trying to explain to him what he needed to do and Apachai not understanding, not giving up, the elder tried a different approach, Apachai was extremely gentle with little kids, never coming remotely close to harming them, so he told Apachai to imagine Kenichi as a small kid. Surprisingly, it worked, for now, Apachai actually teaching Kenichi without killing the poor boy.
Being prepared Kenichi went ahead and fought against Takeda, the match ending on his favor, not before both of them almost fell off the school's roof, Ukita saving them, and Miu having the scare of her life, beating the three boys to hell and back.
Needing to go to Akisame's clinic, not because of the fight, but the beating Miu gave to the three boys. Noticing Takeda's injured arm, Akisame offered to help heal it, Takeda over the moon about this great news, gladly accepted.
His screams echoed through the neighborhood for hours straight.
