Chương 5: [5] Study Of The Elements and Meeting

It was now 2005 and I was twenty-two, a week ago I got a call from Meredith telling me she matched to a hospital in Seattle and asked if I was still going to join her. Which I accepted it was time for me to move on out and start somewhere knew, in these past two years Cindy and her husband Drew grew closer and she was now pregnant with a little girl.

Cindy was a mess when I told her I would be leaving she broke down and it took a giant tub of cookies and cream ice cream, with pickles to calm her down. She then held me for an hour but agreed to let me go, though I had to promise that I would visit every holiday and buy a house large enough that they could spend vacations at my new place. Lucky me, no that isn't sarcastic either, I found away to help awaken magic cores but they had to be babies and I planned to do that with her baby.

The sent me off but made me promise to be here when the baby was born which I agreed to, I also was able to get a spot in the same hospital as Meredith. Apparently being a genius who was five years younger than your peers you had people pawing to get at you, also helped with the dean or Harvard personally calling them. Now I would be working at Seattle Grace Hospital, it also helped that I used a little magic on patients.

There was a welcoming dinner but I skipped it, instead after getting to my new house and setting up my workshop I started working on my new projects. The elements this was what was missing from the immortality spell, I needed all the big ones like Water, Fire, Earth, Air, and Metal but also the rest like Light, Darkness, Soul, Time and Space. Yes Time and Space were and Element.

My moms books touched lightly on Time, Space and Soul while she had hundreds for the rest the only problems being that they all didn't come naturally. To use and elemental magic I needed to be in tune with that specific line of magic, like at the bottom of the ocean of water, in a deep forest of Earth, and In a volcano for Fire. It was really taxing.

The rest of the night I made plans for these, I also used the clone magic at the moment I could only make on though, while it was doing research I was going to work on my first day. I woke up on time and changed into something comfortable because I was going to be wearing scrubs all day anyways, I figured this was something good I could do for all the bad I might do in the future.

When I showed up it was right before we got put into groups so I had enough time to change into my scrubs which were baby blue, they made me look amazing. So I was becoming a bit of a narcissist but it worked for me I knew I was a good looking man and I wasn't going to act like I was ugly. I winked to one girl who watched me change right then and there.

While I finished Meredith walked over giving me a smile, I could smell faint alcohol on her, "Someone went out and had some fun last night huh?" I said giving her a smirk.

"Yeah well we were starting today and I was a little nervous, this is where my mother worked after all." she said with a sigh but there was excitement in her eyes.

The next 48 hours were taxing for everyone but me, I usually didn't sleep for five days magic keeping me away, after all these years my core was the size of a basketball and close to gaining another level. With my magic reserves I was able to stay awake longer than most, one interesting and person I saw myself being friends with was George O'Malley, the guy was obviously into Meredith. Though she didn't see it.

She had slept with one of our new bosses to we had a big laugh about that, it was now us group of four, Me, Meredith, George, and an Asian woman named Cristina, though she was a little selfish. The whole next twenty-four hours were me running for scans and doing grunt work while Meredith and Cristina worked on the gymnastic girls problem, George got put on well something less than pleasant.

After the first shift we were all in the basement area sitting on stretchers, Meredith was laying on my lap while I gave her head a massage, she was exhausted from dealing with her patient all day. George looked at me with jealousy in his eyes, I mouth to him we are just friends and although he was flustered he nodded and looked away. Cristina was watching with interest but I ignored her she seemed like the type to step on you to get ahead, or the type to sleep her way to the top.

After awhile we all got paged and headed off it was another twenty-four hours of running around, Meredith found out the problem with her patient and took the surgery with the doctor she slept with. Christina was mad and complained to me but I didn't comfort her, there was no reason to I met her a day ago so it wasn't like we were super close, and she should have said something to Meredith. After a long day we were finally released and I went home on my new motorcycle, I could teleport now but I enjoyed the feeling.

We had the next day off so I planned to see what my clone managed to find before I needed to go back to work. When I got home I immediately made the clone disappear and gained the memories, he was researching everything about Fire, I wanted to get one at a time before I moved on to the next.

Other than what I already knew nothing else was new about the Fire element it was a destructive force, it was meant to be that way the only non-destructive ways were just some legends. Also the clone found that a Volcano might not be a hundred percent helpful since it was apart of Fire but it was more along the lines of a sub category of it. A true way would either be bathing in flames, or a dragons breath, seeing as there were no dragons on earth then I would need to find another way to bath in flames.

It was actually simple Gas+Match=Flames but it also wouldn't be that easy because the fire would need to burn hot enough that I gain full control over the element. Sighing I guess it was time for me to visit a place I had been putting off for awhile now, it was a place where I felt magic but at the same time it wasn't the kind I used it was well hidden.

Teleporting out my workshop after a quick shower I showed up in front of a large wooden door, the space on the other side pulsed a little, although I had no control over it I could feel the magic used. Before I knocked a man opened the door and looked me over, "She told me to bring you to her." is all he said leading me to a room where a bald woman was sitting while drinking tea, she looked really excited staring at me.

"Umm hello I am Malcolm, may I know who you are?" since she wasn't attacking me and hand her own secrets I might as well learn what I could from her.

"This is so refreshing but also a little scary," she said her eyes growing more excited, "Just call me the Ancient One."

"Okay well if you don't mind I have a couple of questions."

"Sure ask away but for one from you I hope I can get one in return, it is only fair after all." she said with child like excitement.

"Umm sure so first off, what is going on with the space around here? It felt like I entered somewhere completely different." I asked putting a little magic in my eyes, there was an abundance here but they weren't exactly using it for themselves it just gathered her.

"It is part of the mystic arts, I was able to create this space using it while also connecting it to others around the world. Now tell me about your magic, I can feel it but I don't know how it works."

"Well it is something that is apart of me really, I was born being able to use the natural magic in the air. I was also surprised to see that you can feel it but you don't have a core to control it. Now can you tell me why you are so excited to see me?" I was going to ask something else but it was creeping me out the way she was staring at me.

"Interesting. I said that because of this," The golden eye necklace she was wearing opened up and a green stone came out of it. I could feel the power coming off of it and it felt familiar but I couldn't place it, "It is called the Time Stone one of the sic infinity stones, they are said to be from the beginning of time when the big bang occurred they were already in existence. With it I can see every possible future, but I have never seen you before and when I try to look nothing appears, that is why I said this was exciting and scary since I don't know how this will go."

Me on the other hand I was stumped hearing this I came here hoping to learn something about Fire but unexpectedly I could grab time right at this moment. Also hearing about the other five they could probably help me with all sorts of magic if I could just get my hands on them for some time to study them.

I threw the thoughts out my head about fire and was going to ask her to let me train with it but it was her turn for a question, "Can you tell me why I can't see you?" she asked with excitement, I actually had a theory to this.

"Well it is just a theory but it is probably because I am not from this dimension so I am an unknown variable so my future is always unclear. It is hard to say really but that should be it. Now since I learned something interesting I will move on to asking a favor, Can I study the Time Stone for let's say a week maybe?" I asked a little excitement in my voice, my mom just touched on it and used it in her spells but if I could truly get in touch with this then it could help be a lot more.

She frowned hearing my question but no matter how much she tried to hide it I could see the excitement in her eyes, "Oh and what do I get out of this?"

"Stop playing, I have work in twenty-hours so we need to move this along. Just tell me what you want."

She laughed a little, "Simple two things tell me who you really are full background, and second let me watch over everything you do with the Stone, can't have you trying something that will mess with future plans."

Future plans? she sounded like a villain but it wasn't my place to judge, "My full name is Malcolm Bright Morgana Le Fay----" I didn't get to finish as she yelled hearing my name.

"LE FAY!!!!! AND MORGANA!!!!" Well her image as a collected person that she was trying to show off went away completely because of that, well not that it was much when she looked like a excitedly little girl earlier.

"Is there something wrong with that?" I asked an eyebrow raised but it seemed like she knew my mother in a capacity, I think the tales of the Morgana from here are actually true.

"*Cough* Sorry about that just a little surprising, I should know that it is a different one considering that you just said you aren't from here but the one here I faced all those years ago truly made me mad. She was an evil woman who wanted nothing but power and to rule over everyone, it took me and Merlin to finally put her down." She said getting a little sad when she mentioned Merlin, most likely he is already dead.

"Oh well my mom was not really the same but she was I guess. She was 'evil' but she slowly gave that life up, towards then end she just wanted to live in peace with a family that would accept her. They didn't believe her though and when they heard she gave birth to me and was weaken from a spy, they joined forces to kill her, though in my world there was no bald lady that joined the fight." I said not noticing the eye twitch when I called her bald.

"I see and do you share the same principles." She asked slyly, though I knew what she was looking for.

"I'm neutral. On one hand I say live and let live, but on the other I say if someone comes messing with me or people I care about then why shouldn't I put that person down for it."

She looked me over and nodded she probably had the same thoughts, "Fine I can let you mess with the Time Stone but for the most is a week is all you have after that I need to be back her for something important. Anything else before we go?"

"Ahh yeah if it isn't to much do you know of a place where I can bathe in fire and I mean this in the literal sense."

She raised a brow and started moving her hands in a motion a shimmering golden circle opened up and inside was what can only be described as hell, even from the other side I could hardly withstand the heat. "Okay that is great and all but I will go there later when I am more prepared. For now let's head back to my place to get started I don't know how long this will take."

She nodded and reached out a hand the next second we were in my house, now that I felt the signature of the place I could go in between them, anywhere I have been before was open. Though I knew that it would take a lot out of me because where we came from was heavily guard by runes and other enchantments, that would drain me to get through without permisson.

"Well let's get started!" I said with a wide grin.
