As Marlena packed away Regina's clothes and jewelry into trunks, a maid came into the room.
"Do you need help, Princess Marlena?" offered the maid.
Marlena felt her tone was unusual but she didn't read much into it. She shook her head as she folded a gown carefully and put it in the trunk along with the others. "It's alright. I want to do this on my own."
Although she had accepted her loss, taking down things that belonged to Regina felt like a stab to her chest. She wanted to take her time doing it. At the same time, it was a battle picking up each piece of clothing and deciding whether to keep it for herself or gift it to Queen Delaney.
When the room fell into silence, she resumed packing, but when she moved to another section of the room, she caught sight of the maid's reflection in the mirror. She turned just in time to catch sight of a glint disappearing into the maid's pocket.
