Qin Zhiyou's voice echoed in her ears, sounding especially clear in the quiet dark room.

Having said this, Qin Zhiyou pushed her aside, turned over, and got back to his place. Then he forcefully pulled the blanket, taking most of it with him, "Sleep!"

That's it? Lu Weixi was a bit taken aback by this dismissal. In their five years of marriage, although Qin Zhiyou didn't spend many nights at home and sometimes worked in his study all night, he never left her alone in bed unless it was her time of the month.

With these thoughts, Lu Weixi felt much lighter. As the blanket was taken, she curled up carefully, holding onto a corner of it, trying to fall asleep.

Maybe she hadn't slept enough last night, or perhaps it was because of everything that had happened today, or perhaps because of the tension when facing Qin Zhiyou earlier, Lu Weixi, once she lay down, unknowingly drifted off to sleep.

Half past three in the early morning.

The old golden wall clock was ticking, first it was Lu Weixi who couldn't sleep, but now it was Qin Zhiyou who was tossing and turning.

With a turn, Qin Zhiyou's nose touched Lu Weixi's. He furrowed his brows and noticed that Lu Weixi, who originally curled up at the foot of the bed, probably because of the cold and not enough blankets, had gradually moved towards the center of the big bed. Her soft body found the source of warmth and moved closer to him, pressing against his chest. Like a little animal, she rubbed her head against his arm, found the most comfortable position, and then fell into a peaceful sleep.

Qin Zhiyou looked down, staring at the top of her head, his Adam's apple bobbing and his eyes obscure. He looked for quite a while, his fingers clenched and then relaxed. Finally, he furrowed his brows and pushed her aside with a jerk.

Lu Weixi, half asleep and half awake, saw Qin Zhiyou hurriedly putting on his slippers, as if preparing to go out for something important. She tried to raise her head, her voice hoarse, asking in confusion, "Are you awake?"

Qin Zhiyou paused, looked back at her relieved yet dazed expression, his eyes hardened, and then with a sense of disgruntlement lifted the blanket and got back in.
