Beep. Beep. Beep.
Genevieve's vision was entirely black. Even as she moved her eyes around and tried to see, she couldn't perceive anything. But she could hear the persistent yet distant beeping sounds, which perplexed her.
'Is this what hell sounds like?'
The fogginess of the beeps began to clear out. Slowly and steadily, her hearing improved until she could sense the sounds to be coming from right beside her. As if on cue, her vision started to change as well. It's dark color turned into a deep mix of orange and yellow.
Genevieve's eyelids made a poor attempt to peel back from her orbs, before they shut back down and scrunched up tightly. The white brightness of the place she was in nearly blinded her, and this only added to her confusion.
'Heaven, then?'
