"Good morning, your majesty. Thank you for being with us today." The host said.
"It is my pleasure." Pearl said, smiling. She was wearing a red vintage 1960s silk cocktail dress by Oleg Cassini with sequin embellishment and an Indian-inspired print. She looked a bit boho and a bit Jackie O.
"I tried to think about a good place to begin, but looking back on the last few years, I couldn't begin to find the best place. I thought maybe you could start us out with where you'd like to begin." The host said.
"Well, maybe from the present, I imagine would be best." Pearl said. "I feel so incredibly fortunate to have the life that I do. To be in a position to do great things for the United Kingdom as well as the rest of the world. The people have accepted me as their own and have allowed me to work with them to better their lives and make a difference." Pearl said.
"And what a difference you have made. You almost single-handedly exposed and stopped one of the most corrupt families in the history of politics. That must have been terrifying for you." The anchor said.
"It was a collective effort by some of the most courageous people I have ever met. My husband being the leader of it all." She said.
"Your husband, King Sebastian." The anchor clarified.
"There is an interesting history there. Your son, Prince Christian, was not Erik's, but Sebastian's biological child. There have been many stories regarding that, but we would like to give you the opportunity to clarify if you'd like." The anchor said.
Pearl knew this was going to be a tough interview. It was the first of it's kind that she had agreed to do. She felt it was time.
"Erik was taken by a man that wished revenge against him a few years back. During that time, Erik and I were dating and I was emotionally destroyed when he didn't return. I had just met his cousin, or who we all believed to be his cousin at the time, and he offered me support and kindness. Something I wasn't accustomed to given my history." Pearl explained. "It was an incredibly human thing, seeking solace in the arms of a kind man. Looking back, Sebastian and I had felt something rare and beautiful occur between us. Love at first sight. He was the kindest, most genuine and good man I had ever met. Not long after that night, we had been told Erik was dead. Sebastian stepped up and offered me his hand but then we discovered Erik was in fact alive. It was confusing and an incredibly difficult time for all of us. I had just gotten my memory back after a terrible accident. I was still healing." She explained. "And when we began to learn about Erik and his father, we became quite close again working for justice for the victims and during this time, both of us realized we were more than just two people that shared a night together, realized we were very much each other's soulmates."
"It all makes sense. And it obviously worked out in the end." The anchor said.
"Indeed. I love Sebastian with all of my heart. Our children are my world and we are actually wanting more." She said, blushing.
"That's wonderful to hear." The anchor said. "Now, we have been told that Erik has been granted an appeal. How are you working through that?" The anchor asked.
"One day at a time. I have forgiven Erik for what he personally did to me. But that has nothing to do with what he did to others, including my husband." She said.
"You are speaking of Sebastian's fiancée, Anna. The one that Edward is said to have murdered." The anchor said. Pearl put her head down.
"Yes." She said quietly.
"We hear there is a screenplay in the making. Telling your story and showing the world an inside glimpse of the journey you have had and the takedown of a monarchy. Is this true?"
The anchor asked.
"Yes. My dearest friend Fiona Maxwell is putting it all together and producing it. We are hoping it will bear fruit and give the world a view, my view, of what really transpired in those years of my life." Pearl said.
"Well, we all cannot wait." The anchor replied. "You are an incredible queen. You have started several charities, one primarily focused on mental health that has helped more than fifty thousand children with free mental health services and medications. You and your husband have worked diligently on changing the entire system in which the royal family has been accustomed to all of these years including the tax system and other political avenues that work for the people now. You are so loved and adored by many. It must feel good to know that you are making such a difference." The anchor said.
"What feels good is living my truth. Being what I am and being able to love my family. That has an immense trickle down effect on all that I do. Do small things with great love. This is how you make a difference. I am a grateful woman. I wake up everyday grateful for this life, this love, and this opportunity." Pearl said.
"We believe it." The anchor said. She wrapped up the interview and thanked Pearl for her time. Pearl nodded and shook her hand, thanking her as well. After the crew packed up and left, Pearl changed into her bathing suit and sat in the indoor jacuzzi for awhile. It felt good to relax and unwind. As she was getting out, she heard a knock at her door. She wrapped a towel around herself and answered it.
"What are you doing here?!" She asked, completely surprised.
