Chương 58: One Must Not Trust One's Eyes

Drowning himself from his thoughts Mike hits something from his feet.

Looking below his eyes widened in surprise for seeing the very ground of these deep waters.

(This must be it, right?)

Thinking if this might be another trap he looks carefully checking every corner to find any suspicious things at the ground.

At the end of his search, he didn't find any suspicious things.

(I guess this must be it, huh.)

[Yeah, no doubt. As if that will happen to you for a second time, right? If it did I don't if you survive another wave of intense pressure... You barely recover from the last time.]

(Don't raise a flag for me, geez.)

Increasing the speed of his descend his feet touch the ground safely without any trouble.

This time he didn't lower his guard and checks his surroundings if something changes.

Miraculously, there's nothing suspicious found.

Eager to lie down and rest, Mike, hold his feelings back and proceed to stay cautious.

(This can't be the end right?)

[Mike... You've been descending for years there's no way that this is not the bottom.]

While he is staying cautious, for the first time for years of suffering the tentacle from his left foot finally releases him and disappeared to the ground until the traces of the tentacle are gone.

(I guess we reach the bottom, huh.)

Falling into his knees Mike looks up and for a while little tears coming out from his eyes.

(I-i finally reaches the bottom.)

[Yeah, congrats Mike. Stop crying its painful for your eyes.]

For this short moment of trying to hold back his tears, Mike lies down and falls into sleep.

Because the ground is all even Mike sleeps comfortably for the first time in a long time.

Imuthis tried to stop him from falling asleep but he let him be because this is his reward for his hard work in surviving underwater.

[Alright! I'll let you sleep. Just leave yourself to me and before you wake up you will soon be in a perfect state! You have my thanks, kid.]

As everything from Mike's eyes turns dark as his conscious is immediately drag to the garbage void.

Without giving care Mike sleeps soundly like a baby and for some reason, he thinks that he can let his body open in this place even tho his body is not inside the bubble.

(I heard Imuthis said something about trusting my body to him. I don't know what he is talking about but I guess I'll let him be.)

From the bottom of the ocean where humans haven't stepped in... Mike the sole human who is the first one to break the history underwater, is now walking randomly at the ocean ground searching for something as he walks along the way.

The face of this human isn't showing an expression as he leans himself from the natural rocks from his surrounding while he walks.

Barely producing any weird substance from his body Mike reach the condition where his juice is about to be dry.

Yet with such a crisis Mike's expression isn't showing any tint of emotion.

Like...

Like he is not the Mike that we knew.

He walks for hours and hours without stopping.

And while he walks a school of yellowish-green creatures swam pass at the top of his head.

Their size is about the size of a human baby bigger than he could expect.

The creatures aren't particularly interested in MIke as they only passed him as they continue to find another suitable food. I guess they consider Mike a stick because he barely has juice left from his body.

In the instant when some of the creatures are at Mike's vincity... His hands quickly thrust the two creatures grasping them to not let them flee.

Before the two creatures could react, their bodies were crushed by Mike's hands as their bones cracking vibrates to his ears.

The other yellowish-green creatures saw their two of their kind died but because of lack of intelligence, they continue to pass Mike without avenging their kind.

As they pass through Mike started to eat the two as it immediately went straight down to his stomach.

Filling his hunger his metabolism started to hasten its work and quickly produce more juices to make his body turn back into normal.

With just two catch a great amount of production happened inside his body in just a short time.

Mike continued to walk and search again for another prey to latch on.

This process was repeated for one week as each day has been passed Mike's body change into a suitable body where he only needs a small amount of weird substance to defend himself from pressure and can move freely in this unknown lands underwater.
