Chương 56: Mysterious Lake Under the Ocean
It's been a month since the sudden appearance of the black giant creature.
The scene is still intact strongly in Mike's mind giving him nightmares every time he takes a short nap.
What he saw back then is blurry yet gives him a strong image of what fear to underwater should look like.
Since then he hasn't encountered any giant creature like that.
[Mike your losing focus.]
(Ah, sorry.)
What he is doing right now is hastening his descend.
Because his body has already adapted to the temperature of the lower part of the ocean Mike can now move without bothering the intense hit.
However, what exchange to this resistance is his change of skin.
His skin from a light color to slight grey which all humans in history don't experience nor seen.
It's different from the dark grey color in his hands back then but it still weird for Mike seeing his skin turn in this color.
He saw this when he is back again at the garbage void, he waits for a long time but it didn't change back to normal color.
Mike thought it might be the cause of the mystery metal chest but it still doesn't open yet so this is only his theory.
Not only that but even his weird substance that surrounds his body to protect him from pressure is upgraded with heat resistance showing that the weird substance has still secrets up its sleeve.
Continuing what he is doing Mike proceed to descend at such high speed than ever before.
With this speed, he feels the water pressing him more.
While descending he is looking at his surrounding with dazzling stars view.
There are four that he needs to look out for.
One: Bubble
Two: Dark Blue Light; Last week he finally found out the color of the harmless small fishes which he can grab in a swift without taking a risk. The texture of the fishes at the lower part of the ocean is a bit weird but Mike proceeds to it eat it without much a thought.
Three: Red Creatures. In these lower parts of the ocean, they are more of them and dangerous than before.
And lastly, the one he wishes to never see it again... the Black Giant Creatures.
With these things in his mind, without noticing the time had passed he finally reaches another different world underwater.
He finally reaches the bottom of the sea as the ground made out of mysterious sands is waving like its welcoming his landing.
Because of the harsh days of living Mike stack up tons upon tons of stress not only to his body but even to his mind and soul.
Every day he needs to raise his guard 24/7 at his maximum limit making his brain cry out from overworking just to survive.
Reaching his destination...
For many years of pain and suffering...
Mike finally drops his guard and embrace the ground.
(Ahh... How long has it been..)
Like the tentacle reading the mood it slows down giving Mike the short moment of enjoyment to his life.
Closing off his vision of dazzling stars, he closes his eyes and lets his body hit the ground.
For minutes waiting for his body to hit the ground, Mike had thought of something.
(Oh yeah... If I carry one of these rocks and sell it to the scientist at the surface... I'll be rich no doubt.)
Opening his eyes he tries to grab one of the small rocks lying around the ground as a souvenir.
However, what he saw is not the ground that welcomes him with the open field but instead...
A large lake in the underwater ocean.
(Oh What the fuck now!?)
Without questioning his head about the lake, Mike shift his angle and tried to swim away from the lake.
But the tentacle for the first time isn't letting him go away in any direction.
Mike struggled but ended up getting pulled into the lake fiercely.
Because of the sudden danger, Mike doesn't much have much time to get away from danger.
Having no choice but to enter to an unknown place, the lake, Mike commanded Imuthis to use the last resort.
Imuthis said to Mike; [I know!]
As he said Mike's body that was wrapped by a weird substance has gotten denser and sturdier like a barrier if one has could say.
As the weird substance turns into more like a real barrier Mike's body has to turn into frail like his juices inside were suck out of his body.
So this is why its called last resort, Mike's trump card.
Mike's barrier hit the lake underwater.
Mike didn't know anything about a lake appearing underwater hasn't thought about it nor aware that it's possible.
The lake is wide open that even a black giant creature can enter easily but what's terrifying about it is the unknown beyond that lake.
What will happen to Mike?
How in the world this did lake appear below Mike?
Can Mike enter this dangerous place?
More questions added in his futile mind Mike but like always Mike prepared for the worst.
He thanks the god of luck for the peaceful week that given to him which lead him to a fully ready state.
He only lowered his guard in an instant but that will not make him die easily.
As Mike resolved himself he was sucked inside the mysterious lake underwater.
Like shoving your body inside the wall Mike's body has been crushed by the intense pressure just by entering the lake.
If he hadn't release every weird substance in his body to create the barrier he would have died.
Mike's current state is horrible but it will not kill him instead it will just make him immobile for a while.
(It's painful.)
[Don't lose conscious Mike! Or else it will your lose!]
Bones were broken.
Skins were deformed in something not human.
Muscles are twisted in a weird direction.
Organs were barely functioning.
This isn't what Mike was expecting.
As he enters the lake the tentacle is still pulling him more aggressively like its rushing him all the way to the bottom not caring what will happen to him.
Mike's head is spinning in confusion but still not losing to the slumber like his consious is barely standing between the thin fragile thread that might break just by putting a little weight into it.
At this very day Mike without knowing the place he has gotten in, his real journey to the deep has started.
