Chương 50: The Black Light
Passing through the gap beside the active volcano Mike managed to proceed deeper to the ocean.
It might be fast from an outside perspective but it takes a whole week of descending just to pass the volcano.
But because of Mike's evolution, he can now hold his breath for god knows how long...
His lungs are now thick as they occupy most of his chest while supporting his heart from collapsing.
(Now for the next task.)
Checking his surrounding he proceeds to search for a safe place to stay aka the bubble.
The color of the bubble's light is dark white and they rarely appear in the deep compare at the upper place.
The bubble's light at the surface is reddish yellow more eye-catching than now.
The difference between them is that the bubble here at the deep is hard that you might think it's a hard shell instead of an actual bubble. Mike will need a huge amount of force to get in the bubble which is difficult even for him.
The bubble is the safe point of Mike so he relies on it every time but because of time passes he notices the bubble also changes as they go deep. The mystery behind is still in question but it will be answered in another story.
Mike hasn't properly checked the bubbles because of the danger here at the deep.
Volcanoes and the red creature aren't the only threat to him.
The sudden water current appearing from here and there. Just touching the edge of it will trim your body to pieces.
Large debris appears from here and there out of nowhere. Because they can't be seen through dazzling stars Mike uses most of his time dealing with them. The normal size he encounters is those size of a bus so just getting hit by it will cause damage to his body.
Even tho he can regenerate its annoying.
And one of the most dangerous experience is...
The giant black light that perfectly blends in the black background of the dazzling stars. They are few but they are gigantic creatures.
Mike encounters one of them from afar very far away from his distance...
But even tho he's sure that this black light will not come to him the aura surrounds that light is terrifying that he trembles in fear if he just takes a little peek.
Not only that the light can perfectly blend into it's surrounding for Mike not to see clearly. Even tho he feels it he can't see it...
Because of that, the fear of mystery envelops his mind making him hesitate on everything. But with the help of Imuthis, he managed to hold on a little.
Still, the lingering feeling of fear is still here.
He hopes that when he passed through the hole he will be released from this shackle of fear but he did not...
To his surprise, the sound of a loud crash can be heard... no, he didn't actually hear it. It was more like he feels the vibration of the water near him vibrating widely like there is something big crash to the wall of the hole.
As he thought he can finally escape from that mysterious black light...
The black light forces itself to the hole even tho it doesn't fit as it goes through the black light crashes it surrounding like it wasn't satisfied.
(Tch...)
There is no time for more complaints.
Mike hasten his descend as he thickens the weird substance barrier on his surrounding.
As it thickens it forms into a small sphere-like structure and him in the middle.
Like the tentacle read his intentions it pulls him faster than ever.
(Yeah! You're might be big but have limits to go deeper than here, right?)
As he shows a confident grin that he thought that he can outrun the black light a flag has arise.
He's always cautious about his word of speech but I guess because of stress he didn't manage to control his words.
Even tho it's from his mind it's still a flag and what will flag will do to this situation?
Well...
[Mike! Below!]

To his response in Imuthis's words, he looks down below.
For the first time... He finally sees a light in real life with his one open eye.
It stings a little bit because his eye totally adjusted in the complete dark but the feeling of nostalgia overcomes his pain.
[Mike!]
(Ha!? Oh... Right sorry.)
Gathering back his thought he checks the light below as he looks the feeling of heat embrace his body.
(!? For fuck sake!)
To his another surprise a bright volcano appeared to his below it's directly below him and the distance are short so he can totally feel the heat it gives.
The light it created is from the lava that pours out from its mouth.
Actually, in reality, speaking, it's not the only volcano that's below him.
If one could count...

Eleven volcano pipes can be seen...
(Are you giving me break, luck?)
[Mike, stop in your useless thoughts and look up!]
His mind is in mess right now but he still follows Imuthis's words and lookup.
To add more stress he saw the black light is already in front of him.
Because of the light from below the creature in question is about to be seen.
Slowly descending as it's a huge silhouette is getting shown by the light.
Slowly... and slowly...
Mike's mind went into silence like all of its functions halt because of the total fear he feels just by looking at it.
Slowly...
The tip of its silhouette can be seen from the light.
Large reddish eye, dark grey scales, and teeth that size of the first floor of the building.
Its face is something like a giant shark mix with the scales of something like an alligator.
The creature is so gigantic. Like one of those go**illa movies.
There's no way out just only the tip of the silhouette can even reach him in no time.
(Ah... Just what kind of fantasy genre am I in right now?)
