Chương 28: Sena
"S-Sena?"
He thought that Sena isn't here because he checks every person's face at the ship.
He just didn't give a thought that Sena would be in a different place away from him.
After he gathers his thoughts even tho he is still confused he rushes to go outside.
As soon Ray opened his eyes he saw Mike running towards the door.
But he got blocked by Leo as he senses that something is wrong from him.
"Let me go," said Mike in a low tone lowering his head for Leo to not to see.
"I don't know what you are going to do but I will not permit it. You might want to be beaten by me again if you aren't gonna stay put," Leo's usual cool manner aura is now gone as he soon started talking. He is serious when he said that he will beat Mike as the atmosphere surrounding him is quite intimidating.
Everyone distance themselves when they saw the two. With their life as a thug experience, they sense that there might be a fight that gonna start.
"M-Mike, w-what are you d-doing?" from Mike's back, there is Ray with a confused face as he can't form a word that will come out from his mouth.
Mike didn't look at Ray as he still looking down to the ground.
"Kid, the aura you give right now is unpleasant. My gut is telling me that you are gonna do something reckless. I cannot afford you to do that."
"I know. Just let me look outside."
"You are lying. The actions from your feet are showing that you are gonna start running when you go outside."
"Heh. As expected from a fighter." A half sneering smile formed from Mike's mouth as he said it.
And with that, without Leo seeing Mike's face he could tell there is really something.
He realizes what Mike is really gonna do.
Leo reacted and pinned down Mike to the ground with hands on his back.
The action he processes from his brain however, doesn't show an outcome to his body.
His body fell to the ground like his body malfunctions.
He didn't see what Mike did nor know what he did.
His face stared at the ground even his neck nor mouth can move.
It was like an instant to him.
(This is not his usual speed from the first time we've met. Fuck this so-called evolution!) He raised a complaint but his words don't form from his mouth.
Everyone saw Leo's body falling down and didn't move after that.
The only one standing is Mike as everyone is astonished and somewhat afraid of the scene he had made.
The strongest of our group got beaten instantly!? Everyone thought as they could only stare with confusion and fear from their face.
Carlo as he is the only one who is not affected by the scene Mike had made he shouted in order as he realizes what Mike had done.
"Idiot! What are you trying to accomplish!? There is something wrong with him beat him down!" said Carlo in an aggressive tone. He knew after he saw the scene that they could not restrain Mike easily without beating him up first.
As they heard their boss one after another gather their thoughts and rushes to Mike.
Mike pulled Rin who is near him away from the driver's seat and throw him to the crowd of people rushing to him like a madman.
The lifeboat is small and the space inside is narrow so everyone is having a hard time moving when a pile of thugs is blocking their way as they stumble from another.
Mike quickly took a sit from the driver's seat and grabbed the wheel steering it 180 degrees making a full turn to back facing the sinking ship.
With large waves in the way, the time it took is like forever for Mike.
The thugs are already at him and he kicks them one after another as he defends the wheel away from them.
Mike only knew two things from the controls when he saw Rin handling the controls. The steering wheel and the lever to go forward.
He quickly raised the lifeboat's speed and sail it going to the sinking ship where Sena is.
Yes, this is what he is gonna do.
He didn't request their permission to use the boat because he knew they will gonna refuse in the first place.
He knew that there are no more bubbles in the vicinity of the sinking ship as there are no more footholds for him to walk.
He knew that Leo will be troublesome so he took care of him first as he tricks him into making him think that he is suiciding himself.
It's not that he didn't care for them in the first place and as soon he saw Sena he didn't hesitate to rescue her even if his life or others might be in danger.
(I do care about my life but that girl mustn't die!)
Unlike the guards he faced, the thugs are a stubborn bunch as they quickly rise after they fall and dash towards him again in full force.
(As expected from Lucas's explanation about so-called [Speed up Evolution] these thugs are more troublesome than the last time I fought them.)
He gives his praise to the thugs for their growth but they are not the only ones who are affected by this phenomenon.
Five thugs rush simultaneously with a baton in their hands.
They hit Mike with their best but it was futile as they are blown away by his kicks.
Mike's hands are busy controlling the boat so both feet are the only left for him to use.
"Oy, don't use it!" Carlo from the back of the boat grabbed the hatchet from one of his thugs.
He continues; "I don't want any more casualties so stop it."
"B-but boss!"
"Stop."
"...kay."
The thug released the hatchet and give it to Carlo and rushes to Mike as he brings out his baton from his pocket.
"Uryahhh!---guh!" In the end, he was also blown away from Mike's kicks.
The lifeboat is about to reach the sinking ship as it fights its way from the waves.
The people inside the boat are not many as they are now reduced to 26 people when they got to board the boat.
Mike could barely handle this many in the past with his weak stamina but this time it's different as he feels he is like a new person.
Still, there is no time to be happy to himself as the girl he prioritizes is barely hanging her hands from the pole of the ship to not fall.
Most of the people at the ship are gone as they are fallen into their death from the sea.
Even the ship where Mike and the others are earlier is now sinking but the ship is not split into half instead the whole ship is sinking down like there is something pulling it down carefully not breaking the ship along the other ship's half that is stuck into it.
"What's Mike is really doing!? Oy muscle head this isn't about time to sleep!" shouted Carlo while he kicks Leo's body.
"Mike just what gotten into you..." Ray who is beside Carlo. Ray is confused and somewhat angry because his best friend is making their lives in more danger.
"Boy, you need to talk to that brat over there or else what could else happen to us right now! Gah! Look! I told you!" Daniel who can't fight because of his injury is sitting near the door as he shouts to Ray in a desperate manner.
Daniel pointed the top of the sinking half-ship, there you can see the giant gorilla monster with a scales as its skin, holding two people in both of its giant hands and putting it into his giant mouth with two sharp long teeth hanging out from its mouth.
The monster has numerous human-like hands and feet limbs attached to its back.
"*GURAAAAAAA*" the monster growled loudly that it shakes the air around it.
With that monster no wonder, the guards from that ship didn't survive.
And yet Mike intends to go there bring others for his own selfishness.
Leo woke up from his brief sleep and immediately reacts when he remembers that he was supposed to be dealing with Mike.
But when he soon realized it was too late as the lifeboat arrived at the sinking ship.
"Mike! stop don't go any further!"
"Idiot! don't talk to him! stop him instead!"
Leo kicks the ground dashing towards Mike at such high speed.
Mike was taken by surprise and gotten hit in the face.
Looks like Leo can't hold back anymore for what he did.
But even with that, he can't back down.
He released one of his hands from the control and punches Leo to his chest.
Leo received it cleanly.
"Tch!"
As soon he got received a punch he immediately gives a counter.
Leo's high kick went straight to Mike's face as Mike only barely dodged it within the hair.
(Face again!?)
Mike got no time to fight with him as the girl who's important to him is in front of her waiting for him to be saved.
But before he could even shout her name he receives another kick to his neck making him lost consciousness.
Finally, Mike's hand released and fall to the ground showing that he was beaten again by Leo.
Leo is standing next to him and quickly tied Mike's hand and feet for safekeeping.
"Hurry! Grab the wheel steer this boat away!" Carlo shouted.
Rin takes the seat and immediately controls as their time was in a hurry.
The boat was now about to sail away however it was stopped by something from their below.
"What was that!?"
Something is under them, creatures with gills, fin, and big eyes are holding the boat still. A fish-like creature with limbs of human hands and feet.
They are small but their strength is terrifying.
Daniel who is first to see it and quickly informs the others.
But while they are in the middle of solving their problem Mike stand up untied.
"You!" Carlo snapped as he saw another problem arise from one to another.
Mike is untied but the traced of the rope is still there from his hands and feet swelling. He forcefully removed the rope with strength alone even tho it was quite painful.
Leo is surprised but he managed to react quickly as he is already in front of Mike.
Mike has received another straight-up punch to his stomach blurting out blood from his mouth.
As soon Leo punches he changes into a counter thinking that Mike will make a move.
But as he waits Mike is long gone from the front of him.
He thinks that Mike will go to the control but he didn't.
Mike stepped outside of the lifeboat and jumps at the wall of the sinking ship.
The strength from his legs to be able to jump from here to there is outstanding.
Everyone is surprised by his action but somewhat relieved when they saw that the troublesome brat is now leaving.
The others thought they could catch him as one of the thugs takes a single step outside the boat but immediately stop when he saw Mike jumped.
Before the thug could go back inside the boat the fish-like creature suddenly appeared from the waters and pulled the thug into the ocean with its razor teeth mouth.
"Bro!" One of the friends of the thug called out to him but he did not answer.
"Shit! Why does this happen to him!?"
Before he could even express his regrets a fish-like creature appeared again as it destroyed the small part of the lifeboat's wall pulling the thug to the sea through the wall it had made.
"Gah!"
It did not stop there.
The fish-like monsters appeared out of nowhere busting through the walls pulling their victims into the ocean.
The fish-like creature has hands like humans at it also one of the reasons they can drag the people into the ocean easily.
But unlike the monsters who have many limbs surrounding their body that they saw earlier, this one has only two human-like hands and feet.
Not only it was dangerous there are many of them.
Now five thugs are been pulled into the sea, as they had never be seen again.
They wanted to get away but they can't move the boat because of these creatures as they are now like a fishing duck for them.

As Mike jumps onto the walls of the sinking ship.
He naturally grabs the pipes smoothly like his hands stick well onto the wall.
The way he climbs was like a natural for him to do that even the experienced climber will felt ashamed. Half of the reason for his skill to climb is because of the phenomenon but the half will be...
(Good thing I had done something like this in the past.) Mike sigh in relief.
He reaches the deck but it was too dangerous to stand without something to grab onto as the floor turned into like a slide.
The monster cannot be seen as it shows that he is not near. Mike takes this opportunity to run straight to where Sena was.
"Sena!" Mike shouted.
Sena is barely holding herself at the pipe as her hands are about to slip away.
"!?" Sena noticed him and also shouted back; "Mike!" said Sena in a relieved tone.
(Thank goodness!) She felt really happy when she saw him.
Mike arrived but the place where Sena was is unstable as it the things around her might break to cause her fall.
He can only stretch his hand and wait for Sena to grab it.
Sena also stretches her hand and successfully, her hand reaches Mike's.
Pulling using most of his strength and hugs Sena as soon as she got close.
His right hand is bracing Sena as the other one is grabbing the cracked wall near him.
"I am not like of those cool wannabes guys but I have been waiting to say these lines. I came to save you, Sena," said Mike half-jokingly as he is trying to lift the mood.
"Please stop that, it's not funny if you tried to joke here in this situation," said Sena as she smiled and giggles a little.
"Can you walk?"
"Barely."
"I'll carry you."
"*nod* Thanks."
Mike carried Sena to his back and sprinted while he holds the pipes or the cracks to keep him in balance.
He rushes back to the place where the lifeboats are gathered.
While he is running the monster that he thought was not here is at his front.
"!?"
The monster opens its gigantic mouth waiting for him to get inside.
Of course, Mike is not an idiot to just run straight in there but the monster knew the fact that its prey will go away from him so with its gigantic scaly hands it stretches towards Mike.
(I will not make it in time!)
The gigantic hand's palm is the same size as him so it will be futile to avoid it.
But as soon it reaches him the hand stop.
The hand stop in front of him and the monster pull its hand back.
(What just happened?)
He thought that they are out of its reach but it was not.
Mike saw at the top of his head is Sena's hands that it stretches towards the monster.
Blood and swelling can be seen from her right hand.
"Sena! Are you okay!?"
"Yeah, I'm fine."
(Sena stops that monster with her hand!?) He is surprised as gasp in admiration.
He already knew when they are kids that Sena is always strong because he always loses to her when they get into the mood of sparring.
(I can't even call it sparring back then.)
But he never thought that Sena would be this strong.
He soon takes a quick change and runs at the opposite of the place he wanted to go.
The monster is quick to react and chase the two from their backs.
With its large body unlike the worm, the monster's speed is like a pug but it was still fast for a giant.
"Tch what with this guy? *pant* Sena hold on tight."
"Okay."
Mike jumps and climbed to the upper deck through walls and did not stop until he reaches the highest deck.
He is running aimlessly at this point. The only thing he needs to do for now is to get the monster off from their necks.
The monster is already on the same deck as them as he soon started climbing up to another deck but he already knew that.
The place he could go from the ship because this ship is about to sunken fully into the sea.
He climbs and climbs with all of the might think that if he runs away from the monster it will be enough.
But as soon he reached the highest point fish-like monsters are waiting for his arrival.
The sensation of death that is similar he felt earlier is coming into his body as he felt cold spike oozing to his heart.
His legs are shaking, his sweats are dropping non-stop, his eyes are looking from left to right nervously as he starts breathing heavily.
Sena feels him being afraid and patted his head but Mike didn't feel Sena's hand as his senses are being overwhelmed from fear.
"Mike..."
(No, I don't want to feel this again.)
